Virginia Miller is an up-and-coming tennis star. She’s gone from a ratty tennis court in a park in south London, England, to the world’s top training facility—Los Carlos Tennis Academy in California. In awe of the talent around her, Virginia is all the more determined to make the most of the opportunity and show that she’s worthy of her place there. Her mentor, Nadia Gorlando, has every faith in her.

But Virginia finds herself distracted—Nadia, as well as being a top-notch tennis player, is seriously sexy, and Virginia’s mind keeps wandering where it shouldn’t. Will her crush get in the way of her career, or can she find a way to push the other woman out of her mind before it’s too late?

ThreeandHalfStars

This cute tale briefly follows Virginia and Nadia as their relationship shifts from friend and mentor to possibly something more.

The story has a well-defined plot for such a short work; however, I feel that parts of it were not needed. I understand why it was added to the story; however, it is not really to my tastes and it feels a bit thrown in just to have a bit of conflict. We have no idea what happens to the man that drugged her; I know that it isn’t a main part of the work; however, it still feels unresolved in my mind, especially for how much time V spent saying she would do something about it and such.

I had trouble connecting with the characters, they both felt a bit clichéd and almost too perfect. I felt that I really didn’t get to know them enough to connect with them and truly care about what happened with their relationship.

The intimate scenes weren’t bad; I just didn’t appreciate some of the terms used in a few places, and spelling and grammar errors made it difficult to read in an instance or two.

I felt like we were thrown into the middle of a larger book and were only around to witness them coming together, but not around enough to get to know them and their relationship.

It was a nice little heated story; I had just been expecting something more with the amount of subplots in the work. I would definitely recommend this to folks that like their little erotic trips, but don’t want to read a full novel.

This is a reissue of a previously published book. I’m not sure what, if anything, changed from the first issue, but I thoroughly enjoyed this version. I like the rawness of the sex scenes; it made them hotter. And I really appreciate that for once an author used a first person pov without jumping to the other character’s viewpoint. There were a couple of things that were issues for me. First, things seem to go really quickly as far as their relationship was concerned. One minute Virginia was pining after Nadia, and the next minute they’re having sex in a (semi)public place, and then two minutes later they’re declaring their deep feelings for each other. Which is okay for the length of book it was, and pretty intense too. But I always like it when love develops over time, as the two get to know each other better. Instant lust is great – it’s hot and results in awesome sex. But it just seems to me that love, at least deep and lasting love, takes longer to get to. The other thing that I would’ve really liked is more interaction between the two women. At the party, I don’t pick up much on Nadia’s attraction to Virginia, and I’m not sure she would have left Virginia’s room if she really felt the way she said she did. I just really would have liked more encounters between them before we got to the good stuff.

All in all, I liked the book. It was a quick read, sexy and interesting.

Virginia is an aspiring tennis pro who wants to emulate her mentor Nadia , who she has the serious hots for. She’s not sure Nadia feels the same way though but Nadia certainly does feel the same but doesn’t know if Virginia is straight or gay. Once they get over this initial hurdle it is steamy action all the way. The shower scene deserves a special mention as it is extremely erotic. It’s not all sex though as a serious side story regarding date rape drugs lifts it about the usual quick erotic romp. it’s a sweet love story too and was over a wee bit too quickly.
A really good short novel with enough to keep your interest peaked.

I was a little disappointed with the opening chapters, finding them a little disjointed and lacking consistency. The relationship between the two women seemed to go from slow and steady to bordering on the erotic with nothing in between!
The setting was ideal for the passions and encounters that were involved. The author showing clear understanding of what is needed to make a professional tennis player. I also found the description of the British and their proclamation on being sorry highly amusing (and truthful).
However once the relationship between the women developed so did the storyline. The whole novel took on a more interesting and absorbing feel. Emotions were well written and as a reader I developed real empathy with both characters.
A novel full of erotic encounters but with enough substance to keep the readers attention.
