But when they find him, a totally unexpected passion explodes between Richard and Will, stunning them both. Suddenly, discovering who betrayed Raul and Richard isn’t the only challenge. It’s now a struggle to solve the mystery so Will can claim Richard’s heart just as the wolf has claimed Will as his mate. This review is for the audiobook version, narrated by John Lamberti. The reading of this book is better than in the first book of the series. It’s not fantastic, but it’s good, and it doesn’t take anything away from the story.
Betrayed is a wild ride – a sexy and engaging continuation of the world and characters we were introduced to in Cursed. The characters are well developed, and the large community of characters adds a richness to the story. The story is unique and intriguing. The plot twists wonderfully, and the pacing is perfect. It’s very engaging from beginning to end.
This is a very erotic book, with many hot sex scenes. I love the way the metaphysical elements of werewolves and magic are woven into the physical and emotional intimacy.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Betrayed took things to another level for me. I’ll be looking for more from this author for sure!
I don’t recommend this as a stand alone, but I highly recommend this series for anyone looking for a highly erotic paranormal romance story.

This review is for the audiobook version, narrated by John Lamberti. The reading is ok, but I feel it could have been better. At times it was a bit choppy/disjointed, maybe because of issues with the audio editing. There are also rapid perspective changes in this book, and I feel that the narrator could have used better pacing to reflect that and avoid confusion. Also if he’d used different voices for the characters it would have made dialog more easy to follow. I would have given the text version of this book 4.5 stars instead of 4.

Cursed is a magical and sexy romance. The characters have good depth and personality. The story caught my interest from the start and is engaging throughout. The story is unique and interesting, and the pacing is great. The smut-to-plot ratio is a little heavier on the smut side than what I would prefer for this story. But that said, the sex scenes are well written and hot.

Even though this is the first of a series, it is also great as a stand-alone book.
I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a highly erotic paranormal romance.

**AUDIOBOOK REVIEW**

This was a fun story with a bit of paranormal thrown in with it. I really liked the way we got to see the relationship being built as the two men worked on the house renovations and how they supported each other in various ways as they grew closer and closer.
Then the full moon rolls around and we are exposed to why Dylan wanted to get away from city life in the first place… and why he loves living in the woods as well….. until his nasty ex enters the picture and all Dylan’s secrets are exposed.
I liked the suspense in wondering how/when the secret would come out and wondering how it would be handled.
A very well written book.
Nick Russo did an great job narrating the book as well. I’ve listened to numerous projects of his now and he has a great voice for narrating and bringing the story to life with a good tempo and reading speed.

I have no words for how much I loved this book!
Dylan was such a sweetheart who was turned into a werewolf by a Jerk who was someone he had cared about at one point.  He is a Architect who tries living in the city even though he turns into a wolf once a month.  But it gets harder and harder for him until he has no choice but to move somewhere rural in the woods.  He meets his neighbor Chris and you can feel the sparks between the two of them from the start.
Chris is someone who is happy by himself and yes he is defensive, also unsure of Dylan’s feelings for him.  He helps Dylan with his Renovations on the house.  They grow closer as time goes by… I loved them as a couple!
Then enters Andy, Dylan’s maker to try and get him back so they can be a pack but he wants none of that.  I really did not like his character after what he tried to do to Chris.
So I will leave this review with this book was a different change of pace for me.  I am so used to shifter books when they can change whenever they want to, so it was nice to read about a werewolf who can only change once a month on the full mom to see the differences.  Don’t get me wrong I still love shifter books but now I have found another favorite.
I would definitely recommend this book!

FourStars

I really enjoyed this page turner of a novel. The introduction really set the scene with its traditional concepts on what proved to be an exciting new take on a very traditional tale.
The first two chapters, brilliantly captured the tone of the book as well as relating relevant information regarding both leading females. We were made aware of each of the characters strengths and weaknesses as well as their growing relationship and feelings towards each other.
Despite Ari being able to transform into a wolf this mystery was really believable due undoubtedly to the strength of the authors ability to create such a credible character in Ari. Dale, Ari’s partners character proved to be an antithesis and great human counterfoil to Ari.
Not only was this novel an excellent mystery but it also was a tale of a growing and love and devotion between the two women.
I was slightly disappointed in the way the ending appeared to happen so quickly with everything developing and falling into place with great speed and alacrity.
If you enjoy suspense, mystery and a story of true love then I feel this book will not disappoint.
Another plus to this novel was the summation regarding the canidae family which I found interesting and informative.

AuthorBio

Geonn Cannon was born in a barn and raised to know better than that. He was born and raised in Oklahoma where he’s been enslaved by a series of cats, dogs, two birds and one unexpected turtle. He’s spent his entire life creating stories but only became serious about it when he realized it was a talent that could impress girls. Learning to write well was easier than learning to juggle, so a career was underway. His high school years were spent writing stories among a small group of friends and reading whatever books he could get his hands on.

Geonn was inspired to create the fictional Squire’s Isle after a 2004 trip to San Juan Island in Washington State. His first novel set on the island, On the Air, was written almost as a side project to another story he wanted to tell. Reception to the story was so strong that the original story was put on the back burner to deal with the world created in On the Air. His second novel set in the same universe, Gemini, was also very well received and went on to win the Golden Crown Literary Society Award for Best Novel, Dramatic/General Fiction. Geonn was the first male author to receive the honor.

While some of his novels haven’t focused as heavily on Squire’s Isle, the vast majority of Geonn’s works take place in the same universe and have connections back to the island and its cast of characters (the exception being the Riley Parra series). In addition to writing more novels based on the inhabitants of Squire’s Isle, Geonn hopes to one day move to the real-life equivalent to inspire further stories.
