Author Name: Lissa Kasey
Publication Date & Length: September 11, 2015 – 242 pgs

Synopsis

Kelly Harding has become good friends with Seiran Rou, originally the only male witch to actually train in magic. Now after a couple trying months and several crazy plots to kill Seiran, Kelly suggests a ski vacation to help them all relax—even if Kelly does have to work to keep his taboo crush on Seiran’s brother, Jamie, under wraps. But their getaway becomes a fight for survival when a magic fueled blizzard strands them in the middle of nowhere…with a killer.

When visions of a tower and a dying man fueling a deadly spell begin to fill Kelly’s head, he realizes he has to try to save his new family. Jamie isn’t about to let him go alone—no matter how against a relationship with his little brother’s best friend he might be. But their goals are the same: Protect Seiran, stop the spell, and make it home in one piece. It will take a brush with death to make them understand how deep their feelings go, and none of them will make it out unchanged.

FourandHalfStars

I will confess to being a bit hesitant to start this book after reading the first two in the series. I wasn’t sure if I could handle any more of the main character, Sei’s, whining and bitching without some kind of movement forward in healing. I was shocked in the best of ways to find this book written from the dual points of view of Kelly, Sei’s best friend and Jamie, his older brother. I had already developed a desire to get to know these two better through the previous books and this delivered beautifully.

The plot and story were wonderful and flowed in a perfect arc from beginning to end. The tension and frustration from and between Kelly and Jamie was believable and well thought out. The overall conflict was amazingly well planned and detailed and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The grammar, structure and formatting were all spot on and other than a few minor errors (which are to be expected) I couldn’t find much at all wrong with this title. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good M/M Romance with a Paranormal twist.

I really enjoyed this. Told from Jamie and Kelley’s perspectives, the third Dominion book is more of a self-contained adventure than the first two books.

Seiran’s body-builder brother Jamie is a more typical leading man, though in this third book the author finally gives him enough layers to make him an interesting m/c. Kelley also develops into more than a sidekick as the story progresses and we learn more about him.

I fell in love with Seiran in the first story – his androgynous appearance and unlikely strengths make him a wonderfully unusual main character. Neither Jamie nor Kelley has the charisma I love in both Seiran and Gabe and it took me a while to embrace the two more ordinary men in Seiran’s group. Lissa Kasey is always an amazing writer, so it doesn’t take her long to to reveal Jamie and Kelley’s extraordinary qualities.

After Seiran’s slightly narcissistic whinging through Reclamation, I found Jamie and Kelley’s story lighter and the story arc easier to follow. The story is simpler than the first two; stranded at an isolated ski lodge, Jamie, Kelley, Sei and Gabe must survive baddies and a huge storm. Compared to Seiran’s internal conflicts in Reclamation this is a true action story with a much faster pace.

I hate it when a fantasy writer borrows or revisits plots from earlier stories to keep a current story going and it does happen here. Old baddies return from the dead and Kasey resurrects the idea of characters acting under magical compulsion once again. No one stays dead in a Dominion story! I would love to see fresh and imaginative plot devices in the next Dominion story.

Ultimately, Kasey continues to develop some brilliant characters. New ones are introduced and we continue to learn more about our original characters. I look forward to watching Con and Sam’s characters develop in the next book.

This isn’t a stand alone story – I think new readers would be quite confused starting with the third book. Start with Inheritance and enjoy the series from the beginning.

So while I did like the magical paranormal parts of this story I have to be honest when I say that these two MC’s were so back and forth fighting their attraction to each other so much by the time they finally gave in I was just not that interested in it anymore sadly..
So Jamie has a brother who is very powerful and who he is very protective of. His brother Sei is also in love with a vampire named Gabe. Well I have to admit the relationship between Sei and Kelly was just so weird. I know friends are close but the way they depend on each other so much and sleep together but not sexually would make being in a relationship with either of these men awkward. At least to me it just felt more like they were together in this book then Kelly was with Jamie or Sei with Gabe. Also some of the things that Sei would say to Jamie was just rude or that was the way it came across to me.
So I did really like parts of this book and the world this author built with these characters. I just got so frustrated with Jamie and Kelly that it made it harder for this story to grab me.

So I am sad to say although I did like parts of this book this book was just not for me…

So let me start of this review by saying I really did like this book was something that did bug me.
Okay so with this book you get Sebastien who is still feeling the loss of his partner. Well he meets Kylian at the bar one night and the moment he lays eyes on him he knows there is something special about him. Well as much as I liked learning about them as a couple I thought it was too much them and not enough Jean and Raphael for me. For a book with two couples to work for me I need more then a little part at the end to believe them as a couple and while what little bit I did get from them was awesome I was honestly a disappointed I didn’t get to see more of them together.
So besides that some parts did drag for me little bit. While I liked getting to see these two vampires trying to deal with their loss and moving on I just can’t help feeling a disappointed that there was not more of Jean and Raphael. There was just something about Jean’s character from the other books in this series that grabbed me and I wanted to see him happy with his new partner more then I did get. But besides that I really loved how the author explained the spell and what happened with the souls of their previous partners. I also loved the world this author built in this series.

So all together I really liked this book!
I would definitely recommend this series!

So before going into this book I wanted to let you know not only will you be getting M/M scenes but also M/F and F/F scenes too.  Also before you go into this book you will be getting multiple different POV’s from many different characters in this book too. I know some are okay with those things and some are not so I just wanted to give a little warning. I thought everything personally for me went together perfectly in this book and usually I am not a fan of multiple POV’s but for me it worked in this book.  Yes there were some characters I was not really a fan of, so I honestly did not care for their POV but without reading it I would have been lost reading this book. Also this was the longest book I have read in a long time which I loved. Me being a fast reader it is a refreshing change for a book to take me longer to read. Now that is not without me saying some parts did  drag a little bit for me.
So in this book you get Alain the wizard at first and Orlando the vampire who meet about striking up a alliance between the vampires and wizards.  Which let me stop right there and say what is better then wizards and vampires together I mean really having the two mix together and become couples is just awesome! Okay so Andy lets Orlando drink some of his blood to see if Alain is lying.  That is when it hits Orlando that Alain is his partner the special someone who can make it so Orlando can see the sun again.  Now I could go into every couple in this book that we got a POV from but that would take me awhile their were a lot lol. There is also the special way that only a certain wizard and a certain Vampire can be a partner. Then once you found your partner the way everything slowly grows between the two of them I have to admit the way the author does this was awesome!
I really did love the way the author mixed these two paranormal beings together.  You get a lot of action with this book which has you on the edge on your seat at times and the steam between all these couples was so damn hot!  Then there was the ending which had me in tears, which I will not tell you why but I can tell you I definitely needed a few tissues after reading that part… I don’t want to go much more into it because I do not want to give away any of this book.  This is one you need to read for yourself!
So all together I really loved this book!
I would defiantly recommend this book!

5 Stars for Sunshine is Overrated (The Vamp for Me #3) by Bailey Bradford #MM #Paranormal @PridePublishing

1.5

Title: Sunshine is Overrated (The Vamp for Me #3)
Author Name & Publisher: Bailey Bradford (Pride Publishing)
Publication Date & Length: October 20, 2015 – 112 pgs

Synopsis

Life with vamps is never easy.

Abernathy Meyers is already mated to a vamp, Zebulon. It’s just too bad that Zebulon doesn’t give a darn about him. Abbie’s stuck with the man for eternity—or until they die. Some days, Abbie thinks that can’t happen soon enough. He’s tired of being treated badly, yet he doesn’t really want to make his earthly exit yet.

Because he’s longed for another man—another vampire—for years. Forbidden love—is anything more compelling, or more heart-breaking?

There’s a twisted past, a hidden story linking Abbie, Zebulon and the coven leader, Claude.

Claude lives with a fear of turning to dust at any moment. It isn’t reasonable, but he can’t shake it. He’s let his own fears impede his potential happiness, and instead he puts the needs of his coven first, ignoring his own. But if he’s deliberately blind to one particular human’s needs because that human is a mate to another vampire, then is Claude truly leading to the best of his ability?

It’s a tough question for him to answer and soon, he’ll have to make a choice that will affect him and Abbie, forever.

I really thought this book was a great addition to this series.

Finally Abernathy gets to be with someone who will treat him like he is loved and the way he deserves. I was really happy for Claude also because he deserved to be loved and to have a mate who will care for him too.
You get a lot of action and some steam with these two which I loved!
Zeb Abernathy’s mate did something that was horrible for a vampire to do to his mate which also made it possible for Claude to finally claim him which is what should have really happened from the start.
The way they were to together and how you could really feel how much they cared for one another was just awesome! You also get to see more of the characters from the first books. I don’t want to give to much away because this was such a short read. I felt like the author wrote such a awesome story for these two and I did not feel like anything was rushed between them at all.

So all together I really liked this book!

I would defiantly recommend this book!

Well I hate to say this because I really liked the first book in this series but for some reason this one was just not for me…
This book just felt so rushed to me to be honest. I know it is a Novella so yes it will be a fast read but everything that happened between Radney and Andrew happened so fast that I was left feeling like there really was not much of a connection between the two of them at all.
Radney picks Andrew from the Vampire dating website because he feels like no one in his coven likes him very much so he wants to change. Andrew likes Radney from the start and yes I did feel some chemistry between the two of them I just did not get enough time with them I think to feel like they really connected.
You do get the steam with this book which I loved and the action. You also get to see some of the characters from the first book which I also loved.
So I am sad to say I really did not feel a connection between these two MC’s so this Novella was just not for me..

Synopsis

Some things in life just might be worth giving up garlic for.

It was simple curiosity that led Augustin to the vampire dating site—he thought it must be a joke started up by a bunch of weirdos. Man, was he right—but it just so happens that those weirdos really are vampires, and when one shows up at his place, Augustin’s world is turned upside down.

First he’s got a psychotic vampire to deal with. Then he’s got one who is much more fun hanging around.

Except now that Augustin knows that vampires exist, he can’t be left alive. Or can he? When an alternative is offered up, Augustin doesn’t care for it, either. After all, he doesn’t want to be whisked off to some disgusting vampire den.

Tony’s the vampire next in line to lead the coven. He wants to be a fair man, and that means arguing against killing Augustin. If he’s also attracted to the sarcastic, adorable man, where’s the harm in that?

This book was hilarious… I laughed so much reading this!

I loved the way Tony and Augustin were together.. Yes Augustin got annoying after awhile because he came of mean sometimes instead of funny sometimes which drove me nuts to be honest. But otherwise I really did love this book.
This book was super short so everything between the two them goes really fast but the way they were together more than makes up for it. I could really feel how good they were for each other.
I really would have loved to see more of them together.
Tony was so caring when it came to Augustin and eventually you get that feeling from Augustin too after he stops being so snarky most of the time. You also get steam with this book which was so hot!

So I will leave this review with I loved this Novella!

Title: Bloodlines (Sanguis Noctis #3)
Author Name & Publisher: Robin Saxon & Alex Kidwell (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: November 15, 2013 – 440 pgs

Synopsis

Mercenary Jed Walker and his reclusive boyfriend, Redford Reed, are all set for a much-needed trip—nothing but sand, fish, sun, and drinks with those tiny umbrellas in them—when Victor Rathbone shows up with an acquaintance in tow.

Randall Lewis pleads for their help in finding a cure for his brother Anthony’s rare disease. Jed, Redford, and Victor join the Lewises as they set out to find the Gray Lady, legendary leader of the largest wolf pack in existence, who may be able to help. What they don’t expect is to find themselves caught up in her pack’s struggles with local human hunters or a growing conflict among the supernatural communities.

Jed is abruptly faced with what it means to be human in a world rife with the supernatural, and the challenges keep piling up: fear that his way of life is hurting his Redford, sparks flying between the half-blood Victor and wolf Randall, the impending threat of hunters, and the quickly approaching war that could kill them all. All things considered, Jed wishes fishing was the only thing he had to look forward to.

With this one you get more of Redford and Jed which I absolutely loved! But you also get the POV’s of Victor and Randall which I can say I was not a huge fan of at all..
I think with the POV’s of Victor and Randall I just really did not care, I am sorry I just had no interest in them as a couple at all. I think that I felt like this mainly because I was still not a huge fan of Victor at all.
Other then those parts I really loved this book!  This time Redford is asked to go to the Gray lady’s pack to ask for help because Randall’s brother Anthony was sick and human medicine was not working.  Redford in this book is having a hard time dealing with his wolf voice in his head and the instincts he was having that were making him violent.  They all together helped the pack deal with the human hunters that were hurting wolves.
This time Jed is having a hard time because he feels like he is keeping Redford back from being the wolf he needs to be, so they have more troubles as a couple in this book. The way they work together though is just awesome!  I really liked Randall’s brothers Anthony and Edwin.  I kind of hope that Edwin is the soul mate that Victor was talking about for David in the last book Blood in the Sand.
You get more action with this one which I loved, angst and sweet moments between Redford and Jed.
All together I really liked most of this book!
I would definitely recommend this series!

Synopsis

Sanguis Noctis Book Two, Sequel to Blood Howl When David, an old contact and sometimes friend, hires Jed Walker to look into a series of seemingly unrelated disappearances in Cairo, Jed jumps at the chance to show his partner, Redford Reed, more of the world he’s been missing. David’s boyfriend, supernatural expert and resident stuffy professor Victor Rathbone, joins them in their journey to Egypt, which holds many more dangers and mysteries than Jed ever expected. Hidden natures resurface, relationships collide, and instincts are stretched to their breaking point. What seems to be a simple case turns out to be anything but. David may have called for help, but he has his own suspicions about who’s behind the kidnappings-suspicions that, along with clashing personalities, make getting to the bottom of the mystery difficult. While Jed and Redford grow more intimate and trusting with each new obstacle in their path, David and Victor struggle not to lose their trust in each other in the face of their differences. As the four close in on the kidnappers, David is forced to face the one thing more dangerous than the mastermind behind the disappearances: himself.

You get to see more of Redford and Jed together which I loved! This time they are in Egypt with David and Victor trying to find out why people are disappearing.
While I really loved most of this book like getting to see Redford and Jed growing as a couple and how funny Jed is.. I really was not a fan of Victor and David’s POV’s that were mixed in this book.
I think I felt this way mainly because I was really not a fan of the flashbacks David kept having and I was not a huge fan of Victor.  He was just so abrupt and really mean to Jed.
Beside those parts I really did enjoy this book.  You get to see Redford dealing with the new changes to his wolf after what happened with the last book.  You also got more of Jed being protective of Redford which I loved.  The things Jed would say sometimes had me laughing so hard.  The two of them together just clicked.
You get your angst, action and dealing with monsters that go bump in the night with this book also.
All together I really liked this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!

But when he comes home covered in blood and reeking of adrenaline, Bill fears Michael has crossed paths with another bloodsucker, and the urge to exterminate the vamp was too powerful to resist.

It tears Bill up inside to see Michael suffer—unfortunately, the sorrow also trips his most primal vamp triggers. Before he knows it, his own inner beast rears up, ravenous, insatiable, and ready to tear into the next thing that crosses his path…making him wonder if it was wishful thinking to hope that either of them had been successfully domesticated.

This was a sweet and steamy little short!
We get Wild Bill’s POV in this one and find out what a nice vampire he can actually be.
Michael swerved around a pit bull that had been hit by someone else and is upset by how the owner treats him when he brings the dog to him to take to the vet.  Wild Bill goes and makes sure that the owner actually takes him in and finds the guy who hit the dog.
I can’t go much more into it without giving the whole thing away but I can say you get to see a different side to Wild Bill in this and I loved it!
I would definitely recommend this novella!.

This book was another really good book and a awesome add to this series!
We get a lot more of Wild Bill and Michael together which I loved.  Throw in a little three way action which was so hot!!
This book goes from hunting vampires, to helping vampires be better, to meeting human vampire hunters, to awesome tattoos turned bad.
It became clear to me in this book that they have a open relationship to a certain point before Wild Bill would get jealous and go all vamp.
You get dual POV in this book which I loved and thought added a lot to this book by seeing how they both thought and felt.
There is action and a lot of steam in this book.. You get to also see what is happening with Michael’s body more now that he carries the Vampire strain.
I can’t say much more with out giving away spoiler so I will leave this review with I 100% loved this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!
