New Release: 4.5 star,TWO 4 star and 5 star reviews for The Artist and His Alpha (Alpha and Omega #3 – Standalone) by Lisa Oliver (Author Interview) #MM #ShapeShifter

actual cover copyTitle: The Artist and His Alpha (Alpha and Omega #3)
Author Name: Lisa Oliver
Publication Date & Length: February 3, 2016 – 189 pgs

Synopsis

Caden Wolfe lives his life hiding from the world. As an Omega with a brute of an Alpha looking for him, he can’t afford to take any chances. He is happy enough with his art, his one good friend Felix and his agent who adores his paintings. It’s a far cry from life on the streets and Caden is determined to keep working hard, and stay out of the spotlight. Staying away from all things wolf is easy enough in the city, until he meets the one man with the potential to blow his cover and his way of life, out of the water.

Sean Black has it all – a brother for pack, a home pack that is still supportive but far enough away not to interfere with his daily life, a good business, and men who clamor for his attention every night of the week. The last thing he wants or needs is a mate, but after a brief meeting with a gorgeous artist, he realizes his life will change, and not necessarily in a good way.

A misunderstanding leads to danger for Caden and Sean has to make a choice. Can he give his Omega what he needs, or should he make sure he’s protected and then walk away? A rogue Alpha with an agenda of his own, a trap, and trouble from the council are just a few of the things this couple will have to contend with if they are ever to have their HEA.

Warning: This book is an M/M paranormal romance. It includes sexual scenes between two men. It also includes an Omega who will tug at your heart, an Alpha who deserves a smack around the ears at times, and a love story that takes just a little while to unfold. This is based on the true mate trope, so if that is not your cup of tea, then please don’t buy any of my books.

The Alpha and Omega series are all standalone books, with no relation to each other at all, unlike my books in other series.

FourandHalfStars

I’ve recently found Lisa Oliver and since then I have come to the conclusion you can never go wrong reading one on of her books. From chapter one, you are pulled into the world of mystery, fun, alphas and heartbreaks. Sean and Caden are right there too.

I never found myself bored with this story, and I was disappointed when it finished, only because I wanted to keep reading about these two sexy men and their supporting friends and family. Ms. Oliver does a fantastic job with setting the scene of getting to know each character, their first interactions, their conflicts, and then the resolution. She doesn’t leave you hanging.

Hot-to-trot Sean is an alpha who is enjoying is freedom and lifestyle of not being attached to anyone. So when he meets Caden, he is so confused and at first fights it, but not in an over-the-top drama kind of why, more of reorganizing his heart, life and conscious to accept what love truly is and his fated mate.

Sweet and shy Caden just grabs your heart strings from the beginning and is terrified upon meeting his fated mate. As he learns how a true Omega should be treated, which is polar-opposite of what he has learned growing up, his own heart breaks the steel bars and wants to shine with love that has been hidden for so long.

The supporting cast of Liam, Felix and Ian were amazing and definitely helped with the character building and support of this wonderful story.

The only problem is that Liam and Felix were such a strong support and I fell in love with them so hard that I was left abrupt with this story knowing it was a stand alone and knowing I may not ever get to read about those two delicious men. I honestly feel a little robbed of it. Overall though, I did enjoy this story. It really had that combination of sweet, action, and alpha all in one.

This book was pretty amazing but then I’ve read books by this author before and have never been disappointed. First this can clearly be read as a standalone. I have always found books by Lisa Oliver to keep me entertained and this one was very entertaining and an enjoyable read. Ms. Oliver has a writing style that makes it a very easy read. I found the characters to be interesting, but not complex. I fell for Caden almost immediately and Sean was not far behind, even though Sean was clearly clueless throughout the book. I absolutely adored the secondary characters especially Liam and Felix. This was a great story from start to finish and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances.

Triggers: Abuse, cult type behaviors

This author is great!  She gives twists and turns, but also allows for a resolution too.

This story has some fantastic elements, but I thought that it was also lacking in some ways too.

Caden is a strong, silent artist.  I really enjoyed his character.  Despite that he was not the “typical” omega, he has been successful in creating works of art that people flock to.  He is running from his past, surviving without living.  His really good friend, Felix is a hoot.  I really enjoyed how he was able to bring Caden out of himself – but didn’t push Caden to do more than he was capable.

Then you introduce Sean.  He was pushy, grouchy and mysterious all wrapped in to a yummy shifter.  Immediately, he’s intrigued by Caden, but because he has lived a very different lifestyle, mainly getting anyone he wants, he is at a loss as to how to approach Caden.  Their first encounter is confusing and neither character really knows how to react to each other.

Once you are through the immediate issues that both Sean and Caden find, Oliver was able to draw emotions out of the reader through feelings, emotions, relationships and the story just begins to bloom.

Despite some miscommunications and a lot of flubs by Sean, he finally understands what love can be and wants to have it with Caden.

I liked the conflict in this story but felt that it was unfinished – we were kind of left hanging.  Maybe it will be resolved in the next story?  I can only hope!

FiveStars

This book is definitely a 5 star book. I just recently got into reading shifter books and with each one I love them even more. This has got to be my favorite to date.

Sean is what one would an Alpha wolf. He and his brother Liam own a club in LA and both are Alphas. Sean has made his mind up a long time ago that he did not need to be tied down to anyone when he can have someone new when he wants. That is until Caden comes along and Sean realizes right away he had met his fated mate. Then everything changes.

I know that Alphas are supposed to be the strong ones and they are but I have to say that I believe that Omegas are stronger. Or at least in this book anyway. Caden is an omega but he has no pack and is a lone wolf. Under normal circumstances omegas cannot survive on their own without a pack and Caden does. Not only does he, he is thriving on his own as far as having his own home, having a career that he is great at, and relying on himself to stay safe.

Caden is such a strong individual whether or not he is an omega. He has survived being abused and mistreated since the moment he was born because some dimwit convinced others that he was weak and useless for being an omega. But in my opinion the opposite is true. Caden took what was thrown at him with grace and never let it end him. He could of given up but it was not in his nature. He might have been scared of what the future would hold but he still did not let it stop him from becoming self sufficient. That takes guts in my opinion and makes him a very strong person and omega.

Sean is definitely a strong alpha but I believe that he has some misconceptions on what a real relationship should be. He makes a butt of myself several times but he has the smarts, heart, and love to realize when he has made a mistake and he either fixes it himself or he gets the advice from his friends and family that leads him in the direction that helps him. He is definitely a stubborn individual but he is smart enough to realize what he is about to lose, even if it does take him some time to get there.

I enjoyed this read so much and could not wait to see what was going to happen next. It is definitely a love story but it is also an action adventure with the warnings of abuse, talk of rape, and mistreatment of children, women, and men.

Cannot wait to read more by Lisa Oliver.

Excerpt

“Holy shit, he has a gun. Caden, for fuck’s sake don’t shoot!”

Sean heard Felix yell and he damn near pushed Liam off the fire escape, leaping up the last of the stairs. He could understand how Felix would want to talk quickly, especially if a gun was involved, but he had to see Caden for himself. As he stood on a rickety ledge he was momentarily stunned by the vision in front of him. A huge lit space littered with canvases spoke of hard work, dedication, passion for art and an apparent disregard for mess. And in front of it all stood Caden – locked, loaded and ready for bear.

The young man looked even better than Sean remembered. His slim, pale torso gleamed under the light, his unruly mop of straight blond hair falling just over the top of one eye. All Caden appeared to be wearing was a pair of jeans that hung low on his hips – a truly sexy picture. But it was the confident way Caden held the gun in his hands, and the unflinching glare in his eyes, that touched Sean’s heart. Felix had been right about one thing. Caden was determined to defend his home, and he looked more than capable of doing it. Damn, if that idea didn’t slam Sean in the groin and hang on.

“What are you doing here, Felix?” Caden’s voice held traces of nervousness that wouldn’t be noticed by human ears, but Sean noticed that the hands holding the gun didn’t waver.

“I was worried about you,” Felix called out, stepping closer to the glass, his hands spread to show he was unarmed.

“We all were. You wouldn’t answer your door; you weren’t taking my calls. I had to know you were all right. We’re friends, Caden, I thought you trusted me. Now please, let us in. This damn ledge is fucking unsafe and you know I’m scared of heights.”

Caden held his glare for a long minute, and Sean wasn’t sure the young man would ever move. But then he carefully raised his weapon, removed the magazine, which he tucked in his back pocket, and then walked over to rest the gun against the wall. Only then did he come towards the large panes of glass, releasing a latch, which Sean realized was actually a door latch. What he had mistaken for windows doubled as large sliding doors.

Once all three men were inside of what was a huge space, Caden seemed unsure of himself. “I know we’re friends,” he said to Felix hesitantly – scared, but apparently determined to defend his actions. “I’m not doing anything wrong.” His eyes seemed to catch Sean’s automatically and Sean was shocked to see they were full of fear again.

“I’m an adult. This is my place, my territory. I’m not intruding on anyone’s space. I have a right to be here.”

Sean realized in that instant that Caden’s immediate fear had a name – the Black Brothers – and damn, if that didn’t make him feel sick. He and Liam were full-blown Alpha wolves, and his little Omega must have thought that they had a pack, or at least a right to the territory he lived in. No wonder the poor guy had locked himself in and refused to talk to anyone. He was terrified of losing his home and possibly his life.

Felix looked confused. “No one said you didn’t have any right to be here. This is your home, bought and paid for. No one can take it away from you so long as you pay your taxes, and your trust does that for you.”

“Then why did you bring them?” Caden hadn’t stopped looking at Sean, but clearly Liam was included in the ‘them’ comment as well. “They know what I’m talking about. Why are they here, if not to beat me, torture me, rape me and then kick me out of my home? That’s what men like them do. What are they doing here?”

FiveStars

This book is part of a series and I recommend reading theothers. The stories are interwoven, and not a waste of your time.
I think what I have enjoyed about Victoria Sue’s writing with this series is her ability to introduce multiple characters and bind them to your heart. Seriously. Each book I read, I love thecharacters in that story. They pull me in and wrap themselves around me like a safe, warm blanket. I might not always love what happens in the story, but I can’t help reading every word.
This story has gut-wrenching moments that felt like they were creeping under my skin and I could feel Nate’s pain.
This is an important part of the wolves series with damaged heroes who leave a lasting impression.
Kimberley
FiveStars

Victoria Sue keeps rocking these Sirius Wolves. The backstory continues on, but even in this book 5, it keeps you guessing as to what will happen next.

Marcus finally has his mates, but not 1 mate, 3 mates, and not just 3 mates, but 3 wolf mates. It broke my heart throughout to know why Marcus feels that he cannot even have 1 mate. Ms. Sue does a fabulous job of creating a character (Kellan) that has not been well liked through the prior stories and not only comes out filling your heart with love, but you find yourself cheering for him and with a huge twist of surprise that I will not reveal but will make you melt. Ricoh and Nate were just amazing and to read about Nate will make you think you can succeed over hurdles in life.

All the prior characters are still there and heavily involved with the story in which I absolutely love about Victoria Sue’s writing. Most series, once the couples’ story has been told, they are usually shuffled into the background, but not in this series. Everyone is up front and part of the show. Blaze, Conner, Darric and especially Aden stays with you and is an integral part of the storyline, and helps Marcus realize that love comes in all shapes and sizes and especially numbers. Why would you want to limit yourself to one mate, when you can have 3 equal loving mates? The question is, does Marcus let go of not having full legs, which makes him feel less than a whole man, so he can share his heart and compassion like the man he is?

This series keeps me entertained and attached to the men, as each one has their own strength and power that you become a part of their family and do not want to leave. I cannot wait until the next book in this series and with fingers crossed Victoria Sue doesn’t ever end this series.

Excerpt

Nate opened his eyes slowly and looked down. Kellan blinked as they both seemed to shimmer for a few seconds and then gaped as he stared at the white wolf now standing shoulder to shoulder with a black one.

Nate had shifted. Not only had he shifted into a beautiful wolf, his wolf was black. Nate was an Alpha.

“Does that mean what I think it does?” Marcus said quietly.

“I’ve never seen his wolf,” Ricoh said, awe coloring his words.

Then in another second, Nate had shifted back, and that was their second surprise. He was fully clothed. Kellan realized there had been no torn clothes on the floor, and as far as he knew Darric was the only wolf with that ability.

Nate stood. The wolf, Chris, was still close enough so Nate could burrow his hands in the thick white fur.

Marcus took a step forward and Nate lifted his head — and they all gasped. All hesitancy, all trace of fear, all the remnants of pain that Nate seemed to carry with him constantly — it all vanished as the man took a step and Marcus opened his arms for Nate to step into them.

The white wolf shook himself, casually licked a paw, and headed for one of the smaller meeting rooms. Conner followed him with some jeans he had been carrying. In seconds Chris and Conner were walking over to Marcus, Chris fully shifted back and clothed. Nate and Marcus stood quietly holding each other.

Blaze spoke up. “Unless it’s essential for you all to be here would you please give your Alphas some privacy?”

In seconds everyone had disappeared except for both Alpha groups and Chris. Blaze drew some chairs together and sat down. Aden chuckled, his arms full with a sleeping baby. “Well, you don’t see that every day.”

“Look,” Marcus said quietly, holding one of Nate’s scarred hands. The skin was smooth. Injury free, no burn marks, no missing nails.

Aden stared in astonishment. “That’s incredible. Shifting heals, but it doesn’t remove scars.”

Darric dropped a hand on his leg. “I should know,” Aden whispered.

Kellan swallowed, guilt immediately swamping him. Kellan had lured Aden back to their old pack the last time when he got injured again.

Aden lifted his head and stared at Kellan. Then he smiled, and Kellan felt the guilt ease. He was grateful. He wasn’t sure he deserved it, but he was grateful.

“I have to ask,” Blaze said when they were all sitting down. Marcus and Nate were side by side, but Kellan had drawn Ricoh to him. Of them all, Ricoh seemed the most shocked. “I understand you were thrown out of your pack as a child. Was it because you are an Alpha?”

Nate sat a little taller. “I’m not an Alpha,” he said hesitantly.

“I can assure you,” Darric interrupted, “your wolf is black. Alpha marked. Besides which, I can feel your energy.” He paused and assessed him. “That’s new, isn’t it?”

“New?” Marcus asked.

“My wolf is gray,” Nate said hesitantly. He looked at Chris who was sitting quietly with Conner.

“Did you do that? I felt an incredible amount of power when I touched you.”

Chris put his head to one side and laughed nervously. “I don’t think so. I just remember thinking you seemed hurt and that I had to help you.”

“I felt the Alpha power. I can sense it in you,” Darric said.

Nate turned his head and gazed at Darric. “I’m sorry. I know those are words often said with little meaning, but I—”

Darric reached over and clasped Nate’s hand. “The gods knew what they were doing. I think everything happened as it should.” Darric smiled. “I think you are an Alpha for a reason, and I think the gods have a purpose for you.”

Kellan gazed at everyone’s awed faces and knew that Darric was right. Even he could feel the steady thrum of Alpha power coming from Nate. What did that mean for their future?

****

Marcus stared in awe. He wasn’t totally sure what was happening here. “Are you saying that because Nathaniel has a black wolf, he’s an Alpha, and that his wolf has changed color?”

“There are different types of Alphas, Marcus. My wolf is silver,” Darric said.

“Stephen’s is golden brown, as is mine,” Conner said.

Marcus frowned. “Then why do you say black means Alpha-marked if an Alpha can be any color?”

Darric smiled. “Alpha-marked also means marked by gods.” He gestured at Blaze. “Blaze’s wolf is black. It’s usually an indication of leadership as well.”

Marcus gazed at Nate. “What does that mean for you?” Did that mean he should be running the pack? But Nate never left their rooms. He looked like he had a newfound confidence, but he was still curled into Marcus’ side as if he needed protection.

Nate looked at a complete loss. Aden spoke up. “I am not completely sure but I would hazard a guess that Sirius has a specific job for you to do,” he said quietly.

Marcus nearly shook his head in complete disbelief, but then he knew all the other incredible things that had happened, Darric being alive, the baby that Aden was cuddling. If they had happened, why was it such a leap to believe Nate had a higher purpose of some sort?

Marcus thought hard. Even as the other Alphas stood and congratulated Nate and fussed over Chris, he let the conversation swirl around him and he knew. Kellan was a strong werewolf.

Ricoh had gotten a strength of purpose planning the new school and helping the kids he loved.

And Nate — his fragile boy, the one who Marcus had never been able to leave for long, because he needed him so much … Nate was an Alpha werewolf. If he wasn’t about to run a pack then he was destined to play some important role. God touched.

Marcus eased his arm away from Nate as Nate laughed at something Darric said. At the end of the day, Marcus was fooling himself. Nate healing had just taken away his reason for being here, and he was very much afraid none of them needed him now.

Marcus inhaled appreciatively as he eventually made it to the top of the steps. He loved Aden’s pack house. The upstairs floor was Aden’s and his mates’ living quarters. He was incredibly lucky to be here, and one of the only humans who had been trusted to live with werewolves. Not just any werewolves, thought Marcus with a grin at his own joke. Blaze, Conner, and Darric were the Supreme Alpha triad who had been blessed by the goddess Sirius when they were born over seven hundred years ago. Marcus grinned to himself — didn’t that just roll off the tongue! It was one of those things that even when he’d seen it with his own eyes — first with his buddy in the army, and then here — it was still a truly fucking incredible thing. Werewolves. Thinking of every film in the movies, none of them came even close to how amazing it was, and how goddam lucky he was to be here.

It had only been because of his dad’s friend, Bud Mason, that he’d gotten this gig in the first place. Marcus was a newly washed up Marine with two bum legs. Career finished. Then Bud — Senator Mason — had called him. He knew Marcus was aware of werewolves. Marcus and his unit had been out on patrol, eyes on a swivel as always, but it had been quiet for days. Craig was scouting up front where he liked to be and a sniper had taken him out first.

Marcus had thought he was done for, until the most incredible thing Marcus had ever seen happened in front of his eyes. Craig shifted into a wolf as he lay on the ground.

Marcus had kept his cool, and even though the firefight grew up in earnest, and had pulled Craig to safety. Craig had later explained everything — how werewolves were known about by the government, but not in the main by the general public; that he had shifted because when injured it’s a natural thing for wolf shifters to heal themselves.

Marcus had been enthralled. Unfortunately, Craig had been sent home by panicked generals who didn’t realize it wasn’t Craig’s training so much as his incredibly strong shifter sense of smell that was locating the landmines and keeping their asses safe.

The next day after Craig had gone, their Humvee rolled straight over one. Three Marines lost their lives and Marcus lost his legs. The left one above the knee and the right below.

A few of the wolves glanced up smiling as Marcus limped into the café area at the front of the pack house. Friendly guys, and girls. Lilly greeted him. “Morning, Alpha.”

Marcus had wanted to die of embarrassment when she’d first called him that. Apart from the obvious fact he was a human, he was pretty sure it was against some wolf protocol or something. In fact, Ricoh was standing with Aden one of the first times last year when Lilly had called him that, and he’d seen the shock on Ricoh’s face.

Aden though had explained Lilly meant it as a mark of respect as Marcus had ended up being one of their biggest supporters, and Blaze certainly didn’t mind. Marcus supposed if it didn’t offend their Supreme Alpha, he didn’t need to get all bent out of shape about it.

FourStars

This book tackled a somewhat touchy subject of Transgender.  I really enjoyed this story and should say that I have not read any of the previous stories.  However, I did not feel that I was lost in any way.

Edie is hoping to be accepted by her pack.  While her family will protect her fiercely, she knows that she needs to branch out and allow her pack to accept her.  She has been struggling for a long time and finally feels that she can be herself.  She just didn’t know what was missing until it was no longer missing – if that makes any sense.  She thought she was figuring it out and then, Rolly comes back in to the picture.

Rolly is a kind of martyr, one who sacrificed his own happiness to allow Edie to find herself – experience life.  He is the shaman who has traveled and learned so much through his travels.

The chemistry between these two is off the chart and while they are so new with each other and especially Edie, Bradford created scenes that were hot, realistic and not overly dramatic.

I think where the story took a slightly wrong turn for me was with Lotu – he drops off and is not heard about again, and with the Siberian clan.  It seems to have been thrown in to the story almost as an afterthought.  Maybe in the next story or stories, this will be resolved, but this book was almost too long.

I would have enjoyed it more had it just been about Rolly and Edie.  However, it was well written and I did enjoy the story immensely.

ThreeStar

Daniel may have flunked out of his School of Magic, but he is inexplicably drawn to the sea and to Leaf, a new boy in his small seaside village.  This isn’t quite Harry Potter by the sea, but I found myself imagining a similar world for the two teens.

I had to imagine a great deal, as very little about this magical world is thoroughly explained to readers in the short story.  I’m still not sure where or when the story is set.  I’m also still a little confused about the Selkies.  While Selkies aren’t the most familiar of mythical creatures, the author spends very little time is spent explaining their nature for readers.

I found the oddly old-fashioned tone and dialogue unusual for a young adult m/m story.  There were moments I really enjoyed, but this story needs development and a great deal of world-building before readers will be able to fully engage with the two boys.  As it is, the romance feels rushed and the characters feel underdeveloped.

No problem, Miller can fix that! Added bonus, there’s a full moon tonight.

When Alexx first encounters Raoul, it isn’t exactly in the way he dreamed of, and he’s sure he made a terrible first impression. But Fate throws them together under unforeseen circumstances, and the attraction between them can’t be denied.

Can Raoul let go of the past long enough to find his future with Alexx, or is he doomed to repeat past mistakes?

ThreeStar

It took me a while to get into this story.  I found the beginning confusing and I felt like too many characters were thrown at me too quickly for me to absorb.

Once I found my bearings, I really enjoyed this tale of werewolves, murder and romance.  Alexx is a great lead – I loved how the plucky, wannabe journalist rises to the occasion when he finds himself involved in a murder investigation.  The older, jaded and guarded Raoul is the perfect match for Alexx’s naive innocence and the two are a fantastic pairing.

I think a little more world-building needed to happen in this story.  I’m still not very clear about Raoul’s family or the nature of the werewolves in Crescent Bay.  But I enjoyed the book and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

AuthorBio

Julie Lynn Hayes was reading at the age of two and writing by the age of nine and always wanted to be a writer when she grew up. Two marriages, five children, and more than forty years later, that is still her dream. She blames her younger daughters for introducing her to yaoi and the world of M/M love, a world which has captured her imagination and her heart and fueled her writing in ways she’d never dreamed of before. She especially loves stories of two men finding true love and happiness in one another’s arms and is a great believer in the happily ever after. She lives in St. Louis with her daughter Sarah and her cat, Ramesses, loves books and movies and role playing on the Internet, and hopes to be a world traveler some day. By day, she’s an administrative assistant for a global elevator company, by night she writes and is also an editor for Wayward Ink Publishing and MuseitUp Publishing. Her family thinks she is a bit off, but she doesn’t mind. Marching to the beat of one’s own drummer is a good thing, after all.

Title: Strange Addiction (The 12 Olympians #4)
Author Name: Sandrine Gasq-Dion
Publication Date & Length: November 2014

Synopsis

Brock Holloway has it all — money, friends, a bitchin’ car and a promising football career. At least, that’s what people see. Inside, though, Brock is fighting for something he knows he can never have: Unconditional love. As the child of Aphrodite, he is worshipped, admired, wanted – but never loved.

Zack Duran is a wolverine shifter — and not a nice guy. Zack’s shifter side is always in control, often making him heartless and unfeeling. When Zack is assigned to guard Brock Holloway, his tactless wolverine tendencies become even more prevalent and Zack has to fight his shifter personality AND his genuine feelings for the beautiful football player.

A near tragedy shakes him to his core, and Zack can no longer fight the feelings he has for Brock. But giving in to his emotions may come at too high a price. A startling secret charges Brock with the nearly impossible task of taming Zack’s beast. Is he up to the challenge? Can Zack give him what he needs? And with danger working overtime, can they finally be together as they were intended?

FourStars

Brock and Zack are two in a large family of Olympians and Shifters.  Their relationship starts out quite rocky, as they are learning about themselves and each other. Zack is attracted to Brock, but due to jealousy, an emotion that is unfamiliar to Zack, he belittles Brock on a regular basis. Brock believes that Zack is the epitome of rude and annoying.
While Zack has come from a past that he cannot remember, he knows that he is dangerous and tries to come to terms with the fact that he has no past – or at least one that his mind has blocked due to the trauma he suffered. Brock is the son of Aphrodite and has always wanted someone to see him for what he has to offer, not his looks. Brock has lived his life with almost no physical or emotional love. He had unfeeling parents, was bullied for being gay and went through life looking for close physical contact by sleeping his way through people. Zack must learn to control his inner beasts in order to ensure that he will never hurt Brock. Brock, for the first time in his life, has someone that wants to be with him for who he is, not because he has power over them, as the son of Aphrodite. Together, they learn that love is worth fighting for.
While a war is swirling around them, Brock and Zack must figure out if they can let the feelings they have for each other come to the surface, or if it is safer to keep those feelings hidden.  This book had more of a sci-fy feeling than the other stories. Zack is essentially raised in a laboratory. He is tortured by scientists to see if they can bring out Zach’s hidden shifter forms.
I enjoyed this story and really enjoyed how protective Brock became over Zack, despite Zack being the protector. I thought that the author did a good job at incorporating the other characters from the previous books in to the story as well. All of the characters are supportive and want the best for each other.
This series is pretty great too.  I would recommend this series if you enjoy shifter stories and paranormal activity.

AuthorBio

I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but “Old School” French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in the South for another two years. I’ve been married to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn’t change a thing about it. Writing has become my fulltime job and I’ve never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won’t happen soon!
