I absolutely loved this part of the story. I am glad that this volume
was broken into two parts since they would be quite long together.
Plus it gave me a minute to breathe before we got into the good stuff
in the second part here.

As expected I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what Cory and
Green were going to do with the big, bad, ugly guy. The story was so
great with how Cory manages to learn from her weaknesses and come out
on the other side a stronger woman and leader for her beloved’s people
and the people that she’d give everything to protect.

Although I was a bit sad by the addition of a new lover and the
exclusion of another since I wanted to see the one that was excluded
get into the mix and didn’t particularly bond with the one that will
be around now, but such is life.

Another excellent part of the story that I am just in love with.

Will Langford’s fated mate tempt him away from his marriage? And if he does, will his wife let him go without a fight?

Warning this is a MPEG novel and I wanted to put a warning for those who like it and those who do not.. I loved the way the author handled it in this book! Also this can be read as a stand alone. This couple just like the others in previous books in this series is different and you don’t see the previous couples in this book so you will not be lost if you read this without reading the other books first.

Stefan has saved himself for his mate. He has just graduated collage and has been contacted by the fated mate agency with his mate’s email. Well there is just one big problem his mate is already married to a woman!
Langford is a doctor at the hospital Stefan will be working at and he is also a Alpha wolf shifter. He is married but his marriage his not good at the point when Stefan contacts him.

Now I was nervous reading this book due to the fact that Langford is already married when he meets Stefan but I thought the way this author handled this was very good and I felt like it was handled perfectly.

I loved the way this author wrote these characters and this story!
You get your angst due to the wife Langford is separated and divorcing and the ex father in law who causes problems but you also get so much steam between these two men which was very hot!!!

All together I really loved this story and would recommend this book!

Kara

Stefan is an Omega who has waited to find his fated mate until after graduating college.  He knows what he wants – a good job and his mate.  His family is so supportive and I love his mom and sister.  They are helpful and loving, stern and awesome.
When Stefan gathers the courage to contact the agency, he finds out that not does he know his fated mate, but his mate doesn’t want to meet him because he’s already married to a woman.  Talk about a swift kick to the self-esteem and heart.  I love how Stefan’s sister does not allow him to wallow – she tells him to fight for his mate.  His mom has a more diplomatic outlook, but eventually also says that he might need to nudge his mate.
Langford is older than Stefan and used to babysit his fated mate.  Who knew the world could be so small?!  Despite the shock of having been contacted by his fated mate, Langford is determined to stick to his vows.  He and Nanci are married, they work together and her father is his boss.  There are so many different things that could go wrong – plus, to Langford, his vows mean that he needs to try to make his marriage work – the marriage that he no longer really belongs in.
I think the most difficult part of this story, for me, was that Langford was bound and determined to stick to his guns, until he wasn’t.  Steele showed the reader exactly the kind of connection that Stefan and Langford share – it’s steamy, hot and yummy.  Despite Langford’s naivety, I think that Steele was able to redeem that aspect.
I do wish that more came of the angst that both Nanci and her father posed.  I found that their issues were swept up too quickly and they weren’t drawn out enough for me – but, overall, I enjoyed their treatment throughout the story.
This was a great story but I wish that there had been more shifter aspects to the story.  You catch snippets, but nothing was every truly discussed.

5 and 4 Stars for Prickly By Nature (Portland Pack Chronicles #2) by Piper Vaughn and Kenzie Cade @thekenziecade @pipervaughn

1.5

Title: Prickly By Nature (Portland Pack Chronicles #2)
Author Name & Publisher: Piper Vaughn & Kenzie Cade (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: November 16, 2015 – 260 pgs

Synopsis

the four months since hedgehog shifter Avery Babineaux started investigating the disappearance of a young female werewolf from the Portland Pack, he’s discovered his life’s passion. Now he’s apprenticing under established PI Corbin Reid. Avery hopes his training with Reid will help him finally bring Lacey home, but detective work isn’t without its perils, and the potential dangers strain his relationship with his new mate, Dylan.

Dylan Green would be perfectly content with his mating and his motorcycle shop if it wasn’t for his constant worry about Avery’s safety and the fact that Avery’s never home. Proud as he might be of Avery’s determination to prove his worth and fulfill his promise to Lacey’s father, Dylan can’t stand the thought of Avery being hurt. Yet what right does he have to demand Avery give up his job when it’s clear Avery’s found his true purpose? Still, Dylan wishes he could, and the appearance of a new police detective who sets his sights on Avery only adds to the tension.

Something has to give, but stubbornness runs in both their veins, and it might take a catastrophe for them to find a compromise they can live with.

This book was a awesome addition to this series!

With this book we get Avery still trying to find the missing girl whose father he is friends with. He now is also training with Reid to be a private investigator.

We get to see a lot more of Avery and Dylan together as they grow as mates which I loved! Plus there was so much action which had me on the edge of my seat and steam which was so hot between these two men!

I loved what these two authors did with this story and the characters they created in this shifter world!

So all together I really loved this book!
I would 100% recommend this book!

I really liked this book. Avery is still sassy and spunky and Dylan is still the protective, hunky, motorcycle-loving mate of his. Opposites really do attract. Life is never dull for this couple.

In this second book of the series, this pair has turned domestic. In the first book, Avery was portrayed as a guy who loves shoes and has a huge collection as well as a very expensive wardrobe and is the “southern belle”. Dylan is the Macho Man. In this second book, Avery is now a detective-in-training and is out in dangerous situations coming home with black eyes while Dylan is home cooking dinner and waiting on Avery to get home. Life takes a turn after mating.

The plot line is really good. It moves at a good pace, not rushed. I appreciate that.

I love that the author brought some of the minor characters from the first book into this one.

I highly recommend this book. If you like a m/m book with mystery and suspense and inter-shifter relationships and a vacation trip to New Orleans then this book is for you. I highly recommend you read the first book in the series first though.

5, 3.5, and 3 Stars for Shadowing Mace by Cheyenne Meadows #MM #Shifter

1.5

Title: Shadowing Mace
Author Name & Publisher: Cheyenne Meadows (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: February 25, 2015 – 117 pgs

Synopsis

With his brother away at a conference, alpha wolf shifter Shadow finds himself paired with IT analyst Mace, the one man he can’t stand. Stuck with the partnership due to his pack leader’s order, Shadow can only count down the days until his life returns to normal. He’s a loner. Period. No matter how much his inner beast protests.

Mace isn’t thrilled either, but can’t resist the temptation to push all the surly alpha’s buttons, even as he fantasizes about what could be. Flirting with danger, he’s determined to make the best of the situation, if he can only get Shadow to give in to both their desires.

Unfortunately, a twisted revenge-seeker has other plans. A series of events rocks the entire pack, leaving innocent people hurt and fear running rampant. Both men are thrust into the chaos, working tirelessly to track down the culprit before someone winds up dead. The pressure of trying to stay a jump ahead, with absolutely no clues, pushes them to the brink. Add in a burning hunger for each other, and their world begins to crumble around them. With no other choice, they have to trust and depend on one another in order to have a chance at solving the mystery and saving lives.

So I have to say I loved the dialogue between these two shifter mates. They both were just so snarky I loved it!
So Mace has been assigned to work with Shadow who is Alpha while Mace is a Beta. These two men have never gotten along before so you knew it was just a matter of time before they both ignited.
Well someone is out to hurt pack members and it is up to Shadow and Mace to figure out who is behind everything happening and stop this person.
The steam in this book was off the charts hot! You also get action and angst with this book too.
I loved the way this author wrote this shifters and these characters!

All together I really loved this book!
I would recommend this book!

Kara

ThreeandHalfStars

Shadow is a slightly off putting, very stern character who really dislikes Mace, the less stern, but no less annoying IT guru.

The two of them have a slightly volatile start – Mace likes to push Shadow’s buttons and get a rise out of him, while Shadow would just rather get on his way.

The beginning of the story is more about animosity and trying to stave off their desire for each other, they work tirelessly while trying to figure out who is behind the attacks on fellow pack members.  But I did like the softer side of Shadow and how Mace was able to see that despite his outward demeanor, Shadow did need someone to look out for him too.

So, while this book was not all about relationships, love and hot sex (but don’t worry, there is some of that), it was mainly about finding someone who will look after you – make sure that you are taken care of.

The mystery in this story is somewhat unfinished for me.  While they figure it out, it seemed rushed.  The ending of the story is much sappier than I was expecting as well.  I think it would have flowed better if there had been less of an abrupt change from hating to creating a relationship.

AvidReader

ThreeStar

Not my favorite shifter story, but it’s not the worse. I like the pack structure, and I liked Mace and Shadow…sort of. There was a lot of stream in this book, lots of naughty bits, but I felt no connection towards the characters in the romance department. Maybe at the end, but by that time it seemed forced, thus too late to change my mind.
Shadow has to work with Mace, who he dislikes, but he has no choice in the matter. Mace is hot for Shadow, but he can see the guy doesn’t like him, which makes him wanna tease him more. I liked  Mace’s personality, but Shadow was too broody for me. Two characters can be “hot” together, but sometimes as the reader, I wish they fell for someone else.
Also, this was tagged as BDSM…but it’s not. Not really. There’s elements of it, but not enough to claim that this is a BDSM book.

Ford is starting a new internship which is were he meets Jarvis. Well Ford wants to find his mate so he contacts Fated Date Agency but at the same time he is attracted to Jarvis

I have to say honestly I was not a fan of Fords character or Jarvis.

This story kind of dragged for me through parts and I honestly did not feel like these two men fit together.

Ford came off as crabby and indecisive while Jarvis just felt like a huge player so they really did not make sense to me at all.

I did like the pretense of this story but felt really no connection between these two men. I have liked previous books in this series but unfortunately for some reason this one just did not grab me.
So I am sad to say this book was not for me…

So with this book you get Lieutenant Lucas who is in command of his unit which is mixed with humans and werewolves.
Noah comes to his unit a true alpha which causes Lucas to insert is power.
This book was just so good!! Between the feelings these two men were slowly building for each other during the war which could not have been easy, to the way these two men were so protective of one another.
There was steam with this book along with some angst and a lot of action. I thought the way this author wrote these characters and this story was really awesome!
The moment I picked up this book I could not put it down! Now I can not wait to read the rest of the books in this series. This book and the take on shifters being in the army was such a change from anything I have read in awhile and I really did love what this author did with this story.

So all together I 100% loved this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!

Okay I don’t know how many times I say it but I absolutely love it when one of the shifters knows from the start and gets all mine with his new mate. This book you get that and so much more!
I have honestly never read a book with a Lynx shifter and this book was so good.
You get Keith who is a Lynx shifter plus a veterinarian. He is also in line to be the next Alpha of his fathers tribe.
Then you get Jason who owns his own IT business who works from home. When he spots Keith through the window while he is moving in let me say from that point on it was on!
This book had me on the edge of my seat with all the bad people who were determined to break them up. There were also the very sweet moments.. You could definitely feel how much Keith loves Jason and vice versa. Then you find out something about Keith and you are just stunned because I did not see that coming! You also meet a lot of different characters too. You also meet Sasha Jason’s best friend I have to say at first I was unsure about him but by the end of the book I really liked his character.

All together I really loved this book!

I would definitely recommend this book!

This book was great! I loved the fun take on the vampire/shifter relationship. Plus, the fact that it was a Lynx shifter instead of the normal shifters was nice.
I loved the way Jason treated the shifted side of Keith, although I would’ve liked to see more of the interactions with the lynx/human dynamic.
There was some drama having to do with Keith’s father, not just because he was gay, but because of the fact that he wasn’t going to let his father do as he wished any longer, especially when it came to his mate.
Jason was sweet with his stutter and seeing him grow more confident in himself as the story progressed was a nice touch.
Overall a really great, sweet story.

Vampires and shifter oh my! I enjoyed this book. It was well written and I really enjoyed the character development. I loved Keith and Jason and felt an immediate connection with Jason.  I think I fell in love with Jason when he first began to stutter when he became nervous. It took me a little longer to warm up to Keith but after that I couldn’t wait to see were the author would take us with this story.

However, there did seem to be a lot of things missing from the story. There were times the story would just jump to something that was unrelated to what was going on. Overall an enjoyable read and can’t wait for the next installment.

This book was not what I expected. Not quite sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. For some reason, I thought Grant was going to be more Alpha than Keith, but it wasn’t so. Keith is the shifter and Grant is human, btw. Maybe I assumed that because even though Grant was human, Keith was the lynx shifter and for some reason in my mind, Keith would be the gentle one. lol I don’t know, just not what I was expecting.
This was actually a sweet romance, not fabulous, but a good enough read. Grant was a stuttering mess, but he was adorkable. Keith was charming and he really into Grant. Glad he wasn’t the kind of guy who’d abandon his mate just cause his father was all over his case and that Grant was human. There were plot holes here and there, but a good read for a rainy day.
I also like the cover and title. Cute title and cover for a cute story. 🙂
