5 Stars for Dancing Around The Cop (Alpha and Omega #2) by Lisa Oliver #MM #Romance #Paranormal

Cover

Title: Dancing Around The Cop (Alpha and Omega #2)
Author Name: Lisa Oliver
Publication Date & Length: August 12, 2015 – 374 pgs

Synopsis

Terry Martin has an awesome life – good friends, loving parents and a job he loves designing all of the bright and wonderful costumes for the drag queens at Club Blue. Sure, no one but his parents know he’s an Omega wolf, but he’s okay with that. Unfortunately being a twink often means getting picked on and after a night out with friends, Terry has the misfortune to meet an Alpha wolf, Detective Zander Samuels – his true mate.

Zander can’t have a mate, especially a pretty, sweet little man like Terry. His friend of more than ten years, and partner on the force hates gay men with a passion and Zander won’t risk the only true friend he has, not even for a mate. So even though he’s scented Terry, Zander is determined to stay away from the Omega. Unfortunately the Fates are just as determined that the two men should be together and when Zander finds himself hit with the mating curse in more ways than one, he comes up with a plan to have Terry without upsetting his friend.

A nasty boss, a homophobic partner, some really jerky behaviour by Zander and another Alpha wolf keen on claiming Terry for his own, all conspire to stop any chance these two have of finding true love. But did I mention that the Fates are really persistent?

Warning: This book is about male wolf shifters, it includes coarse language, mm sex scenes, a gorgeously cute Omega who will melt your heart and an Alpha wolf you will just want to slap around the head.

Lisa Oliver continues to blow me away with her books. This book was not a surprise considering I have come to expect this out of Lisa Oliver.

The fact that this book is about a closeted detective named Zander made this book even better. But what made it the most interesting was his mate is a fashion designer for drag queens and an omega, a guy, and a twink to boot.

Zander tried to deny Terry because he is scared of losing his homophobic best friend Sully, his job, and his lady’s man play boy status. But there is a thing that is called FATE that put a damper on Zander’s plans of denying that he wants Terry.

Another interesting and enjoyable read in this series. I love how Lisa Oliver is constantly able to suck me into her stories and leaves me waiting impatiently ready for more. Another wonderful story!!!

5 Stars for Tangling with Bears (Cloverleah Pack Series Book 8) by Lisa Oliver #MM #Romance #Paranormal

Cover

Title: Tangling with Bears (Cloverleah Pack Series Book 8)
Author Name: Lisa Oliver
Publication Date & Length: March 27, 2016 – 256 pgs

Synopsis

Tobias tells himself he’s having fun. He has a great life as a beta in the Cloverleah Pack, and while danger still threatens the pack, he has his friend’s wedding to look forward too, and the pleasures that come from hookups in random places. He’d like to meet his mate, just so he’s not the odd one out in the inner circle, but it’s not something he’s expecting anytime soon. So when a hookup just before the wedding leaves Tobias with a permanent scar, he wonders where the heck his life went wrong. Especially when the man responsible for the wicked set of tooth marks, disappeared after the deed was done, to ring a man called Kurt.

Kurt and Luke have been mated for three years. As bear shifters, Kurt has known from puberty that he will two mates and once he’d claimed Luke, his mama warned him to be on the look out for a human female. So when Luke rings him and lets him know he might have accidentally on purpose bitten a wolf shifter, from some town they’d never heard of, Kurt heads to Cloverleah to sort out the mess.

Sorting out their mating is just one of the things the three men have to contend with. A magic user has stepped up his game and no where on packlands seems safe. When Tobias gets taken, Kurt and Luke are helpless to do anything about it. It’s going to take the power of the pack before life will be safe again, for any of them.

Warning: Contains scenes of M/M and M/M/M sex. It also contains a special kind of bear, his grumpy mate, and a wolf that just wants to be loved. HEA and no cheating guaranteed.

While this book can be read as standalone, you will understand more about the secondary characters in the book, if you have read the others in the series.

This series has just totally captured my heart. I have read each of the books in it so far and I am now impatiently waiting for the next book to come out so I can see what it goin to happen next.

It seems that with each new mating that happens, it happens right when the pack needs it the most. These men in this pack have a calling and that calling is bringing everyone together to a group of men that not only have the strength to protect their pack but also innocents. They have a destiny and even if they do not know what that destiny is just yet, they do they can only accomplish it together.

Danger and evil keeps seeking this pack out and instead of the stress of it caring a wedge between the mates or pack members it does the opposite and brings them all closer together.

And once again in this book, fate has stepped in just in time and brought together three mates (Tobias, Kurt, and Luke) just when their bond was needed the most for not only the pack but for them.

Lisa Oliver is just truly an amazing aunt to be able to come up with a long standing series and make each book more exciting then the last.

This book is so different from the two books before it in the Guards of Folsom series but I was not in the least disappointed and I loved it as much as I did the other books before it.

Max is a Dom that thinks he does not need a full time sub. He has been happy with the way his life is but one morning he meets the man that will not only change his view on love but also have a permanent submissive. That man was Aiden.

Aiden knows he wants to try things that most do not want in their sex lives but when he meets Max He decides to have Max teach him what he needs to know to be a submissive and to have Max help him make his fantasies come true.

This book was actually really sweet, I love the time that Max and Aiden spend together. Yes their is the hot sex. There is the Dom/sub relationship. But there was so much more between them.

From the moment these two men met you could feel the pull between them. And at first it was lust but I was able to feel the change from lust to love between them. It was magical to imagine these two together. It was also magical the love you could feel between them.

Of course they had to find their own balance in their relationship from lovers to Dom/sub but that was pretty easy for them to do since it all seemed to come so naturally between them.

If I had to say so this couple is definitely a couple that was just meant to be.

I loved the book and would definitely suggest that others read it. I had a smile on my face almost throughout the whole course of the book.

I knew that when I read the dedication page that this was going to be a book that brought tears to my eyes. But what I did not expect was for it to touch my heart also.

These three men… Mason, Rig, and Bobby definitely wormed their way into my heart.

Rig and Bobby are together and very happy being together the only issue they have is they are both Dominates. They have a sub that was killed tragically in a car accident 7 years prior to the story and they had not found a sub that wanted to bring into their relationship since. Well other than temporarily.

Mason is submissive and at the beginning of this story his two Doms had also been killed in a tragic car accident but it was only weeks prior to meeting Rig and Bobby.

This book really got to me because from the very beginning of it I could feel Mason’s pain at the loss of his two Doms. I could his loss and hopelessness and also I was able to feel when he gave in to the grief and decided that he wanted to be no more. I was in tears for him and I caught myself hoping that some light would come into his life again. I literally wanted to take his pain away.

Rig and Bobby was that light. And even though they brought that light to Mason again, I felt that Mason did they same for them also because regardless of how long it had been I could feel their grief of losing their past submissive and lover also.

SJD did such an amazing job at making the emotions of this book fly off of the pages to where you was able to feel them yourself. This book had to be a hard book for her to write after reading the dedication and I have to say that she did it so beautifully. This is a book to be proud of.

I’m still in shock that I’m listed among the many talented authors at Dreamspinner Press! The little voice in the back of my head is screaming, “You are so out of your league.”

Synopsis

A string of murders targeting effeminate gay men has the GLBTQ community of Chicago on alert, but budget cuts have left many precincts understaffed and overworked. But Hutch finds a bigger mystery than anyone originally realized—seventeen linked murders committed in several different jurisdictions. Hutch’s clues lead him to Noah Walker.

Working on his PhD in forensic psychology, Noah has been obsessed with serial murders since he was a child. But coming to Hutch’s attention as a suspect isn’t a good way to start a relationship. **Audiobook Review**
I have to say that I was a bit surprised at this book after having read a few of SJD Peterson’s books. While it still had a bit of the wonderful sexy scenes that I’ve come to expect from her, but this also had a totally new mystery/suspense aspect that I hadn’t really expected.
The plot was excellent and I liked all the characters in the story as usual with Jo’s books. Her writing is fantastic and I loved to see this new side of her writing. However at the same time I have to admit I dropped the star rating a bit because I missed some of the chemistry and romance between the main characters due to so many other things going on at the same time.
Another fantastic narration from Rusty Topsfield. I can officially say after having listened to a few books from him that he is one of the best narrators out there and I love the way he keeps the listener interested while bring the scenes to life.

Hutch is a bad ass cop – I liked how his character was always trying to take care of those around him.  Even though at times I wanted to smack him on the back of his head with a “what the hell?” smack.  Noah is a bookish type, who, despite being incredibly smart has a streak of shyness when it comes to lecturing in class.  It was somewhat contradictory since he was not shy about wanting to bed Hutch.

Noah’s character is sweet, innocent and seems to be always horny.  In this game of cat and mouse – each player is strategically danced around the other.  It was a cunning story where the “who did it” was tricky and very well hidden.

I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this story.  It was well rounded and showed a great depth – The sexual chemistry was beyond hot as well.

I have read all the books in this series and this one was a little different, it didn’t focus on the BDSM element, that came at almost the end of the book. This book focused on the relationship between Tek and Jamie. These two grew up together, they were best friends, brothers and then ran the MC together. I usually do not like MC books, but this one was good, the story and relationship development between Tek and Jamie was great, it was a steady build up and it was worth the wait. These two were meant for each other and you could feel that when you were reading the story. This book had everything, love, hate, action, angst, you name it. My favorite part was towards the end when someone saw Jamie’s tattoo and said to Tek “do you have Jamie’s name on your back too”? I actually shed a little bit of a tear because it showed how much Jamie loved Tek and for how long he had loved him.  I actually wished the book was longer, I fell in love with this couple and didn’t want it to end. I hope there will be more books in the series and that we hear about these two again.

This is the 3rd book in the series but you could read it as a standalone. If you read Tag Team then you will remember one of the scenes in this book when Grant is having a skype session with a patient and Aiden is in the background. Grant (aka Max) is an established Dom who happens to need coffee every morning. His coffee maker dies, goes to the coffee shop and sees Aiden and is instantly smitten. Grant has always been confident and sure of himself but Aiden has him all tongue tied. I find it sweet and endearing. Aiden is your average 20 something guy and basically vanilla, but of course has seen things online and is curious. Grant and Aiden go on a few dates and eventually Grant is introducing Aiden to his kinkier lifestyle. What comes as a shock to Grant is that Aiden happens to share one of his fantasies, pony play. The chemistry and sex between Grant and Aiden is off the charts. I love how they click even when they both have doubts about how they feel. I liked that there wasn’t a lot of angst or drama, I needed an enjoyable book and that is exactly what I got. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book.
