Title: Dom of Ages (Collars and Cuffs #7)
Author Name & Publisher: K.C. Wells and Parker Williams (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: December 21, 2015 – 264 pgs

Synopsis

Eli may only be thirty, but he has had enough of pretend submissives. He wants a sub who truly knows how to submit. So when he spies Jarod in a BDSM club, everything about the man screams submission. It doesn’t matter that Jarod has to be about twenty years older than Eli. What does age matter, anyway? Not one to miss an opportunity, Eli moves fast and takes Jarod home with him, without thinking things through. All he can see is what he’s always wanted – a sub who wants to serve.

Jarod spent twenty-eight years with his Master, until Fate took Phillip from him. Four years on, and Jarod is still lost, so when a young Dom takes charge, Jarod rolls with it and finds himself serving again. But he keeps waiting for the shoe to drop. Because there’s going to come a point when Eli realizes he’s a laughing stock in the club. Who would want to be seen with a fifty-year-old sub? And when the moment of humiliation does arrive, Jarod flees. He’d be better off with Phillip.

Despite several missteps, what happens forces Eli to understand that Jarod needs him as much as he needs Jarod. But he knows in order to find happiness, they need friends who will understand. A friend keeps telling him Collars & Cuffs is what they need. Eli finally goes to visit, refusing to risk Jarod being hurt again, and finds everything he’s heard about the club is true. When he takes Jarod, he watches as his sub is met with open arms. As they settle in to their new life, Eli begins to see things differently. And he dares to think he can have it all. Until the phone call that shows him he didn’t realize what he could lose.

KC Wells never disappoints me when it comes to reading Collar and Cuffs series. I have read every book so far in this series and I absolutely love this series. This book is no different. It was an amazing book. Much like the other books I found myself laughing, crying, and rooting for the characters in this book.

Jarod is so heartbroken when this book begins from losing his former master to an airplane crash four years earlier. Being fifty he thinks that he will not find another Dom who will want more then a night here and there or others that will make fun of him for his age. Jarod in my opinion does not realize just how strong he is. Being a submissive and left without a Dom, most subs would have given up on life. But Jarod keeps going even though he is not living. I found that once Jarod met Eli, you could not tell that Jarod was older then Eli by such an age difference. Jarod rarely ever lets his age come between them with the exception of when Eli recieved the phone call that he never expected or hoped to get.

Eli is an amazing Dom. Yes I believe at first he gets things wrong but he gets his head out of his butt and his true nature comes out in the way that he tries to protect Jarod and in the way that he cares for him and loves him. Eli does not let the fact that Jarod has money come between them and he does not let the age difference come between them either. Eli is an amazing individual and I think that Eli and Jarod are made for one another.

As said earlier in my review KC Wells is an amazing author and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I know that it will be just as amazing as the others, if not better.

Jarod

I eyed the other subs enviously as they preened for the Doms, each hoping to spend an hour in a private room with one of them. I felt like a kid again, always the last one picked for sports. The looks I got ranged from amused to withering. I couldn’t believe I’d subjected myself to this. What was worse, I’d actually expected a different outcome.

I sighed deeply. Who was I fooling? I wasn’t twenty anymore. Hell, I wasn’t even twice that.

The Doms wanted someone younger, someone trainable, or, failing that, someone who could give them a hot fuck. I had talents in that department from the many years I had served Master Phillip, but since he died, I’d been a submissive who had no one to serve.

“And what are you supposed to be?” a voice near my ear snapped.

“My name is Jarod, Sir,” I answered quietly, my heart thumping so loudly I was certain he could hear it.

There was a low growl. “I didn’t ask your name. I asked what you think you’re doing here.”

Heaven help me, I told him the truth. “Searching for someone to serve, Sir.”

His braying laugh mocked me. When he saw I was serious, he sobered. “No one is going to take you. No master is going to have you.” Then in a softer voice he added, “Go home. You don’t belong here.”

He was right, of course. It was time I admitted that to myself. This was a world that wasn’t like the one I’d been part of. When Master Phillip and I went to the clubs, there was an understanding.

People were respectful, even if they weren’t interested in whatever was going on. This club was awful. It was full of young men strutting around like peacocks, each trying to show off more plumage than the next.

It was time to stop kidding myself. There was no reason for me to stay any longer. I’d be on my way, and then everyone would probably have a good laugh at my expense. At least in that, I would have made someone happy. I was about to stand when I felt a hand on my shoulder and smelled the leather.

“What is it you want?”

His breath smelled of mint. It wafted over my face and made my stomach clench with nerves.

“To serve, Sir.”

Silence. I waited for it, the inevitable comeback, the jeer, the insult….

“That’s a very good answer, boy. Very good indeed. Stand and turn.”

I rose to my feet and faced the man whose voice gave me butterflies. When I saw him, my heart dropped and crushed them all to dust. The man was handsome, I would never say otherwise, but he was a child. I wanted a Master to serve, not to be a toy for a youngster who would grow bored with me the next time a pretty pony boy pranced by.

“What’s your name?” he asked.

“Jarod, Sir,” I replied, cursing my cracking voice.

He held out his hand and took mine. His grip was firm and warm, and a jolt of electricity ran through me at his touch.

“It’s an honor to meet you. My name is Eli.”

His name was like a caress. There was a gentleness to his voice that had me feeling as though everything might be okay after all. I tried to be surreptitious about it as I looked him over, and he laughed.

“You don’t need to hide anything from me. If you want to look at me, go ahead.”

I raised my head and marveled at how his green eyes shone in the bright lights. His short, spiky hair was dark, but with the colored lights flashing, it was hard to tell what color it was. I had the insane urge to run my fingers through it. He was about my height, and the way those black leather pants clung to his muscular thighs, I really wanted to see his legs. He was slender, but with good definition: it wasn’t a six-pack, but I wouldn’t have minded running my hands over it.

“Aren’t you a bit old for this, Jarod?” His voice was deep, and my skin pebbled at his tone.

With a shock I realized he wasn’t mocking me; he was genuinely curious.

Once more I felt compelled to speak the truth. “No, Sir. I-I don’t believe I am.”

His fingers traced along my neck, running gently across my throat. I swallowed hard. It was so different from the treatment I’d received from everyone else here.

“Would you like to play?”

And with those words my heart dropped. “No. I’d rather not.” I was shocked to hear the words come from my mouth. Never before had I told a Sir no, but it seemed to be a night for honesty.

Of all the times to be honest, though…. I remained still, awaiting his imminent departure.

“Good. I’m glad. I’m not here to play either.” He was quiet for a moment. “I want you to come home with me. Would that be okay?”

My breath caught. What the hell? He was so different from everyone else in this club. My heartbeat sped up. “Yes, please.” My damn voice squeaked again.

I felt the smooth leather against my throat. “This doesn’t come off until I say so. Is this agreed?”

“Yes.”

“Yes, what?”

I cursed myself for forgetting. “Yes, Sir.”

Authors know that their muse is a fickle creature. Best-selling spy novelist Stephen Ramsey has been in a hate-hate relationship with his inspiration for months. Stephen has lost his muse… So his daughter comes up with a idea of him going to a summer camp for the creative soul. That is where he meets Declan a photographer he is attracted to..

This was a short book so I will not go to much into it… This Novella was so good and I really loved these two men together. It did feel a little rushed to me but I still really liked this story and loved the way this author wrote these characters! There is a age gap between Stephen and Declan but I really loved how they were with each other!

So I will leave this review with…. I really like this Novella!
I would recommend this!

Then he appeared from the tree line, a lithe, pale creature of the Finnish goddess Mielikki’s woods if ever I had seen one. Yay for that semester of world mythology back in college finally paying off. Declan wore nothing but a scrap of linen tied around his lean waist and a camera around his neck. I swallowed and stepped down off the porch, anxious to get closer to him. He waited patiently for me. As I drew closer, I could hear him humming. A smile tweaked my lips.

It was Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

“You look like you have too much on,” Declan announced when I stood in front of him. I glanced down at my attire. Gym shorts, a T-shirt, and sneakers sans socks. “How would you feel about doing this nude?” My sight knifed back from my clothes to my guide into the Twilight Zone.

“You’re not naked,” I pointed out once I could speak around the knot of desire clogging my throat.

“I usually am, but I figured you’d be far too uptight to not have clothes on, so, I fashioned a makeshift chiton to cover my goodies.”

“Okay. Yes, I’m not comfortable with our goodies hanging out.” He glanced up at the fat moon over our heads, then sighed dramatically. “I can do no shirt and no shoes, however.”

Declan’s gaze returned to me from Madame Luna. He made a sort of cooing sound then rose to his tiny toes to press his lips to mine. It was a soft peck, our mouths touching for a mere second, but it did things to my perceptions of who Steven Ramsey is that I still cannot fully explain.

“I think I’d like to see you without a shirt,” he whispered over my lips.

“What are you doing?” I croaked. He shrugged a shoulder, then dropped back down to stand flat-footed. “Stop it, okay? I’m old enough to be your father.”

He smiled then spun around, his bare back gleaming pure white. I wanted to touch his skin, trace the knobs of his spine with my tongue. This whole thing was pure insanity, yet I hurried to strip off my old T-shirt and kick off my sneakers. Declan glanced over his shoulder, smiled again, and then rushed off into the night, the coquette. I followed because what else could I do?

Not traipsing after the kid was impossible. The grass was cool and wet under my bare soles. The high whine of a mosquito zipped past my ear. I would be nothing but a massive bug bite in the morning. I walked behind Declan, swatting at the air, hoping I didn’t step on something that would require stitches or a tetanus shot. We stepped into the woods. I debated going back for my shoes.

“We have to be as silent as possible,” Declan, standing on my right, whispered.

“Shoes are quiet,” I replied, my hand resting on the scraggy bark of an old pine.

“Shoes don’t allow you to touch the earth.”

“They also don’t allow thorns to penetrate your flesh,” I parried. My guide grunted in consternation then set off once again. A million questions bounced around my head as I tenderly placed one foot down then the other. What kind of camera did he use? Was there a special ethereal film for capturing fey? Did I need therapy? Did I just step on a slug?

We walked deeper into the woods. The farther we traveled, the more I wanted to speak up or at least scoff. I was working on a good zinger when I ran into Declan’s bare back. He threw up a hand to silence me. My body tightened from a weird combination of fear and desire. The kid felt wonderful pressed against my chest, his clammy skin resting against mine. I peered over his head, my hand coming to rest on his left hip. Declan leaned back into me just the slightest bit.

My cock began to swell. My eyelids drifted down as he wiggled enticingly closer still.

“Look at the hazy ring around the moon,” Declan whispered. My fingers dug into his bony hip. I opened my eyes and looked up. We were on the edge of a small glen. He lifted up his camera and snapped several images as I stared at the milky white fingers of magic tickling the moon. “Now look at the ground.” I did. There, in the center of the small glen, was a small, perfectly circular ring of mushrooms perhaps ten feet wide. “That’s known as a fairy ring.”

“Huh,” I grunted, my body trying desperately to take over the show. Declan had to feel my erection resting against his pert ass. He seemed perfectly as ease with a hard dick between his buttocks. I, on the other hand, was slowly going mad. I longed to lower my mouth to his neck and lick the sweat from his skin. I also wanted to run away screaming to the world that I was not a faggot, but was I? It certainly looked it. Declan lowered his camera and took a few shots of the white mushrooms.

“I’ve heard tales of the fey blessing those who stand in a fairy ring under a full moon. Would you like to go stand in the ring, Steven?” he asked. I nodded. He slid out of my grasp and reached back to find my hand. His fingers were thinner than mine. He pulled me into the glen. I glanced up, then back. “Are you afraid that someone will see us cuddling in the fairy ring?”

“At the moment,” I stepped carefully over several large mushrooms,” I’m afraid of everything, mostly you.”

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book with the sub being several years older than the Dom but this book was amazing! I loved Jarod instantly and my heart broke for him, I just wanted to reach into my kindle and hug him. Eli is simply wonderful. While they had a bumpy start with things at first this couple really were great together. It was great to see couples from other books in this book and how all the subs took Jarod under their wings. I just wanted to hug them all for loving Jarod as much as I did. I loved this book and I am so sad that the next book will be the end to the series.

FourandHalfStars

Well what can I say? I have loved every book in the Collars & Cuffs series and this one was no different. First let me say that I really like books with a big age difference every once and a while. This book was just amazing. I fell in love with Jarod right from the beginning. In fact I think it was when he asked his mother, “can I come home?” That was when I really began to feel how much he missed his Master and lover. K.C. Wells and Parker Williams are an absolutely wonderful writing duo. They make you feel every portion of the book your reading.

This book was not perfect as I don’t really care for a sub who acts like a child. But hey who am I to criticize how the author characters talk to them. This was another winner from the writing duo of K.C. Wells and Parker Williams.

Lynn

ThreeStar

I love older male/younger male romances, it’s just one of my kinks and I love it when the author does it right. This story is about Jarod and Eli. Jarod is the sub, even though he’s fifty and still mourning the death of his Dom in a plane crash. Eli, who is almost half Jarod’s age, is the Dom who finally claims him.
I liked Jarod. He was so sweet, so needy and needed so much love. Eli…well he was okay too, but honestly, I wasn’t very into him. He wasn’t horrible to Jarod, though he kinda took advantage of Jarod’s neediness in the beginning. He made up for it, somewhat, but I liked Jarod so much that I wanted MORE for him. A better dom with more control, more tenderness…more mature. Just more…

DomofAgesFS

This can be read as a stand alone but I definitely recommend reading this series!

Jared has lost his Dom in a very tragic way. He feels lost and so alone with no one to take care of now and with how much he misses his master after his passing.

I felt so bad for Jared to lose someone like that and just feel so lost and alone that you are not even sure how to go on after.

Jarod tries to get back out there after years of dealing with his loss and lets just say it does not go very well until he meets Eli.

The way these authors wrote these two MC’s and this story was just amazing! There were painful parts with everything Jarod was going through but there were also very beautiful parts too between Jarod and Eli while they grew closer to one another in their Dom/Sub relationship. You also see a lot of the previous characters in this series which I loved!

This series by far has been one of my favorite BDSM M/M series and with every book it just gets better and better!

I do not want to spoil any of this book because you really need to read this one for yourself so I will leave this review with I 100% loved this book!

I would recommend this series!

I have loved all the stories in this series.  This one did not disappoint either.  The two main characters in this book are not your typical love story, but I think it helped the authors create such a realistic view.

Eli is young, but not inexperienced.  He is looking for something, someone and is somewhat defeated in his search.  Despite having great friends, he feels like he can’t really lean on them too much – from what I gathered at the beginning of the story.  He wants to have someone, a sub, to take care of him and for him to care for.

Then you have Jarod.  Jarod has lost a lot in his life.  He was closed off to living.  While he was wondering if he would ever live again, his struggles were about finding someone who would want him again, love him again after his loss.

The angst in this story surrounding Jarod was so heartbreaking.  You could really feel the emotions that he felt, portrayed.

Then, despite the missteps of both Dom and sub, they found their way.  The secondary characters in this book only helped to create a loving family.

I can’t wait for the next one!

“Yes, Sir.”

FourStars

This is a simple, sexy romance.  A well-respected New York architect falls for his young intern.  Who also happens to be his son’s school friend.  The May/December thing made me a bit squeamish at times, but the men have chemistry, shared interests and together they compliment each other’s personalities.

The voices of the two main characters were very convincing, so much so that they didn’t always seem completely compatible.  When he isn’t working, Cooper sounds like he’s 22.  Which he is.  But this isn’t a new adult story.  At one point, Tom gives his son a Playstation and Cooper runs off to play it with Ryan.  Not so sexy.  At other times, Tom’s interactions and conversations with Cooper don’t sound much different to his conversations with Ryan.  Teasing the old guy or putting the drunk young guy to bed doesn’t scream sexy to me.

Fortunately, much of the couple’s interactions occur in the workplace and their conversations explore their shared professional interests.  Because professionally, the relationship is wonderful.  When they share their work, the attraction makes sense.

I really liked both of these characters, and at times I enjoyed them together.  I’m not sure I can see them together for the next forty years, but this is a satisfying short romance full of very hot sex.

ThreeandHalfStars

This was an OK story.  I found it slightly difficult to follow along the timeline.  Sometimes it seemed as thought the story ended abruptly and then others, it seemed to flow together more cohesively.

I enjoyed this story, but feel it would have been much more effective as an entire whole book instead of in parts.

I really liked how Preston was able to overcome his insecurities about his medical issues and felt that Paulo was a great balance to him.

Their story was one of pure love and devotion, but seemed realistic at the same time.  I just wish that the story had flowed better.
