Title: Deathcsape
Author Name & Publisher: Adrian J. Smith (Less Than Three Press)
Publication Date & Length: April 6, 2016 — 12,000 words

Synopsis

Standing in the center of a storm, waiting for lightning to strike has always been one of CL’s favorite moments: the anticipation, the buildup for the moment for when the downpour begins.

This time is different. In the midst of a storm, a mysterious woman keeps appearing at her cottage, watching CL before disappearing. At first, the woman seems like lonely imaginings, but as the storm and CL’s interest in her strengthen, CL realizes that’s far too easy an explanation.

FourandHalfStars

This was an excellent story. I totally didn’t see some of the twists coming, which made them really effective for me. I liked the connection and entanglement with the storm, which made the setting a bit eerie. I liked the chemistry the two women had together. They seemed really hot together. Two reasons this wasn’t quite a 5 star for me. One, in some ways the story is too short. It’s hard to write a short story that doesn’t leave the reader wanting more. It’s a balance, one that Smith seems to get mostly right. That is, the story is complete, but there’s still that desire for a bit more. Two, this author frustrates me with her short stories by leaving me with unanswered, and unanswerable, questions at the end. Not sure I can list those questions here without giving away spoilers, but suffice it to say, I have questions about some of the whys, and some of the what nexts, and possibly even some of the but ifs.

In all, definitely an entertaining read. I liked the sizzle, but also the setting and the mystery.

~AmyP

FourandHalfStars

CL keeps seeing a beautiful woman with amazing green eyes. She appears when there is a storm then disappears just as quickly. They kiss and go together to another place, the in-between, where they both feel an strong attraction and need to be together. They seem to be entwined somehow but CL cannot work out why. The story of how both came to be in this place and their growing feeling for each other is the basis for this lovely short tale. I loved all of the imagery, the wonderfully descriptive language. The two women needed each other and their need grew ever stronger , culminating in a beautifully written love scene. At times heart-wrenching but beautifully romantic.

~Kitty Kat

FiveStars

A short novel with an ethereal quality. Original, spicy and full of eloquent and colourful narrative and descriptions.
A very eerie essence from the opening sequence, that begins with noise and confusion and quickly transcends into peace and calm, with the storm being the equalizing factor.
I found the way the author described not only the sounds and the surrounding colours,  but  also the smells, gave the whole novel an almost intangible feel to it.
The only thing that appeared to be actual was the two women’s awareness and affection for each other.
A great and interesting read that successfully incorporated the ghostly with an erotic undertone. A concise novel but one definitely not to be missed.

THREE 5 and 4 Stars for Spook Squad (PsyCop #7) by Jordan Castillo Price #MM #Paranormal

1.5

Title: Spook Squad (PsyCop #7)
Author Name: Jordan Castillo Price
Publication Date & Length: August 30, 2013 – 321 pgs

Synopsis

Everyone enjoys peace and tranquility, and Victor Bayne is no exception. He goes to great lengths to maintain a harmonious home with his partner, Jacob. Although the cannery is huge, it’s grown difficult to avoid the elephant in the room…the elephant with the letters FPMP scrawled on its hide.

Once Jacob surrendered his PsyCop badge, he infiltrated the Federal Psychic Monitoring Program. In his typical restrained fashion, he hasn’t been sharing much about what he actually does behind its vigilantly guarded doors. And true to form, Vic hasn’t asked. In fact, he would prefer not to think about the FPMP at all, since he’s owed Director Dreyfuss an exorcism since their private flight to PsyTrain.

While Vic has successfully avoided FPMP entanglement for several months, now his debt has finally come due.

This story helped me love the series again.  While the previous book was less than my favorite, this one was great!  I loved the new changes that the characters had to wade through, the mystery was ever present and with the new powers they all are facing, each will have to rely on people they normally would not rely on.
Dr. Chance’s presence was great!  I loved what she gave to the story.  It was with this aspect of the mystery that I was most taken by.  Then you have the secrecy of Con – can he really be trusted or is he just using Vic?
Then you have the introduction of Con and his people – more so than in the previous story and I liked that new characters were introduced.
Finally, you have more in the way of seeing Crash’s perspective on life and his issues come more to light – Lisa is still a slight conundrum, as I don’t know if she’s really invested in her friendship with Vic or is that just within her comfort zone?
There were a lot of questions that came through for me during this story – but I can’t wait to see where everything shakes out.

FiveStarsThis book was such a awesome addition to this series!

With this book we get more of Victor which I loved and of course his inner monologue which was at times so funny but also helped me learn more about him too.

Then there was Jacob which was good also, I have to admit I love his character too. He is in a different job now so while trying to work on a case he is also trying to protect Victor from those who would do him harm.
There was a lot of action in this book and some steam which was so very hot! I have to say I love the way this author writes the steamy scenes in this series. There always so very hot!
You see a lot of the characters from the previous books in this series too which was also very good.
There was just so much going on in this book between Victor trying to exercise a ghost that is evil and trying to figure out who around himself he could really trust. I have to say this has been one of my favorite M/M series! Every book in this series has been so good and has had me on the edge of my seat hoping for the best for these characters. Also Victor and Jacob can I just say how much I really love them together and how I love the way this author wrote these characters.

So I will leave this review with I really loved this book and I hope this is not the last we will see of Victor and Jacob! 🙂

I would 100% recommend this series!

Another awesome and twisted book by Jordan Castillo Price. There were a lot of unpredictable surprised that kept me flying through the pages of this book. More of my two favorite men doing their thing.
I really loved how we learned more about all the characters we’ve met in all of the previous books. It was a perfect conclusion to the series, even if I was sad to see it come.
All the previous question were so perfectly answered and closed the series in such a nice way that it left me wanting more.
I’ll still say this is absolutely my favorite series with my favorite characters.

4 Spooky Stars!
I feel like I want to say I am verklempt over this book. Siiigh.
When I have finished the previous books I am usually jubilant, not Sound of Music singing in the hills jubilant, more of the pervy jubilant. Like I got a glimpse into a sacred, intense relationship that made all my bits siiiiiing. This story, not so much. Not that I am disappointed but just kind of a bit, sort of… let down. I still love Jordan Castillo Price, don’t get me wrong. But I felt a lot of parts dragged and I felt a bit left out of Vic and Jacob’s relationship. I guess the first book kind of exploded my senses when it came to this relationship and I have pretty much gotten a good dose of their intensity (or the equivalency in word porn to satisfy my appetite for this sexy duo).
I still think Jordan Castillo Price possesses an imagination that is beyond impressive. The storyline that she enraptures us with is intricate and intriguing and continually growing. This paranormal world is envious and one you sometimes wish you were part of, and then other times you are very glad you aren’t in their world!!!! haha
I would read more in this series!!! I hope we get more in this series!!

Title: In The Dark (PsyCop #6.1)
Author Name: Jordan Castillo Price
Publication Date & Length: October 30, 2012 – 26 pgs

Halloween is fun…at least, it’s supposed to be. Costumes, candy, trick-or-treat, even jaded Victor Bayne can get behind those sorts of antics. Too bad this year’s Halloween is a grownup event. Not only must Vic don a suit and endure a disco-obsessed DJ, he has to mingle with friends of Jacob’s he would much rather ignore.

Vic thinks he has the party’s host all figured out–but as he so often realizes, once he looks beneath the surface, things are seldom what they seem.

This was a strange read for me.  I was not sure if we were meant to sympathize with Keith or Vic.  While I know that Vic hates to be social, it was just a quick back alley repeater, an impromptu exorcism and some internal forgiveness.
I can only speculate that we were meant to know more about the relationship that Keith and Jacob had and this was helping us to see back in to their relationship and why, perhaps, Keith is the way he is.
AvidReader

FiveStars  This was a super short story but awesome look into Victor and Jacob around friends at a Halloween party.

I have to say this is one my favorite M/M series and to get little snippets of their everyday life together is just awesome!

This time yes there is a ghost Victor must deal with but also being around people who he is unsure of or feels like they hate him. So you get to see how he deals with that kind of situation too.

All together I loved this short story!
I would definitely recommend this series!

4 “a short interesting glimpse into ghouls and ghosts and … things that go bump in the night and aren’t necessarily dead” STARS!!!!!
This was a quickie…. and not necessarily the dirty kind.
I think that these shorties in between full-length stories are like something Jordan Castillo Price needs to get out and give us.. yes, us, the hungry ones, devouring every word about Vic and Jacob.
So, thank you Jordan Castillo Price for the words… and world that has Vic and Jacob in it!!!
I’m still fully enraptured by this series. Can’t wait to read more!

I really enjoyed this little snippet from my favorite male characters.
This is just a little snippet of what every day life is like for them
and it was really wonderful to watch as Vic tries to fit into Jacob’s
life. Plus we got a little paranormal activity and got to see Vic
relate to someone from Jacob’s past.

Just like all the other stories, we really get to see the snarky and
hilarious side of Vic while watching the oh so sexy Jacob do his thing
as well.

I just love the way Jordan Castillo Price writes her characters.

Oooh.. the Hollow Man.. We really get to see in this story that Cory
is learning her place in Green’s world and learning how to use her
powers to protect her people and herself.

There is many things that go on in this story, just like the other
volumes, but this one is aimed mostly about the presence of the hollow
man who is causing issues and appears to be sucking the life out of
the fey.

Green is away so Cory get’s to know Bracken and Nicky a little better
and once Nicky leaves she gets to have some private time truly alone
with Bracken (and the others in the hill) but without any other of her
lovers around.  Then we get the sweet and wonderful reunion when Green
finally gets home and has his love in his arms.

I can’t wait to find out where Nicky is going to end up really fitting
in since he seems to sort of float lost between everyone else so far.

While the last two books brought Bracken into the mix, I really loved
him in this book and can’t wait to find out how he helps defeat the
new enemy…. and how Grace handles the surprise in her life… as
well as what is going on with Renny and her beau.. So much I need to
know!!!

I have loved this series since the first word passed by my brain. Jordan Castillo Price has captivated my attention and my heart. In this short but just as exquisite instalment in the PsyCop series we get Jacob’s POV!!!!! I enjoy Vic’s POV but it is nice to “hear” from his brooding, sexy partner!
The chemistry and sensuality between Jacob and Vic is delicious and I devour every word.

Loved this short story!

I can’t say how much I love reading the stories in Jacob’s POV and see more of Jacob and Victor together!

This story was about Victor getting called into work and Jacob going to a party on his own with his friends. I will not go much more into it because this is a short story and I do not want to give any of this away.

So I will leave this review with I loved this short story!
I would recommend this series!

ThreeandHalfStarsThis was sweet.  That pretty much sums these 10 pages up.  A quick look in to the midnight kiss.  I don’t know if these are really adding to the story for me, but they are nice to get a glimpse in to their lives.  I always like these characters.

Normally I love every little insight we get into Jacob and Vic’s
relationship, but this one we didn’t really get to see them together
much so we didn’t get to really feel their chemistry as much as we
normally do so I felt a bit left down. However, I did like that we got
to see a bit of what Jacob’s life is like around his friends without
Vic.This was a cute short little story that I gobbled up just like
everything else from Jordan Castillo Price.Renee

Synopsis

Cory fled the foothills to deal with the pain of losing Adrian, and Green watched her go. Separately, they could easily grieve themselves to death, but when an old enemy of Green’s brings them back together, they can no longer hide from their grief—or their love for each other.

But Cory’s grieving has cut her off from the emotional stability that’s the source of her power, and Green’s worry for her has left them both weak. Cory’s strength comes from love, and she finds that when she’s in the presence of Adrian’s best friend, Bracken, she feels stronger still.

But defeating their enemy is by no means a sure thing. As the attacks against Cory and her lovers keep coming, it becomes clear that their love might not be enough if they can’t heal each other—and themselves—from the wounds that almost killed them all.

The farther I get into this story, the more I love Cory and the men
around her.. and the women too. In this part we get to see as Cory is
forced to grow up a bit and learn how to deal with the loss of her
love.

I absolutely love that every single person we meet in these books had
an important role and no one is just a fluff character. There is so
much that goes on in each book that it’s a constant on the edge of
your seat read.

I have such a hard time with this being the beginning of Amy Lane’s
work since I’ve loved so many of her more recent books, but this one
is SO good I feel like people will miss it because it isn’t a newer
book. Their loss completely. The characters are so complex and the
story is so intricately woven it’s simply amazing.

This is where I really started to fall in love with Bracken and all
that he is willing to do for Cory even though she didn’t see him
‘that’ way in the first book.

FOUR 5 Stars for Memento: A PsyCop Short (PsyCop #6.2) by Jordan Castillo Price #MM #Paranormal

1.5

Title: Memento: A PsyCop Short (PsyCop #6.2)
Author Name: Jordan Castillo Price
Publication Date & Length: November 13, 2015 – 21 pgs

Synopsis

Seasons change, and so do fashion trends. But in this heartstring-tugging PsyCop short, what’s beneath the clothes matters most.

Do clothes make the man? Jacob Marks cuts an impressive figure in his tailored suits, but Victor Bayne is another story. Nowadays, Vic does his ghosthunting in off-the-rack blazers, polyester blend slacks and cop shoes with nonskid soles. But back before he was a PsyCop—or even officially psychic—he rocked combat boots and a beat up biker jacket…and lots and lots of punk T-shirts. When he finds a faded tee in the back of a drawer, he’s eager to lob it in the trash. Jacob, however, finds himself waxing sentimental about Vic’s younger, more carefree days.

This was an intimate, sweet story with some very awesome chemistry.  I love reading from Jacob’s POV.  He is always so reserved and subtle when it comes to the actual novels, but in this short story, he is an open book.  The intimate feelings, the sighs that help the reader see between the sheets and the overall feeling of this short story was great.
I wish there were more chapters like this short story.

So with this story we get Jacob’s POV which I though was awesome. I have always wondered what he is thinking when I have read the previous books in this series and you definitely get the steamy thoughts he has of Vic with this story.
This story is more of a day in the life of these men and how sometimes it can be hard to let go of items that may hold good memories or are just something special to you.
Also this story was so very hot!!! So yes you get the steam in this story but you also get to see how much Jacob really cares for Vic.

I will leave this review with I really loved this short story!
I would definitely recommend this!

This was an adorable… and hot short for my two favorite men. I love that we get to see a tiny bit of Jacob and Vic outside of crime and spirits and what their life is like when things are normal.
Plus, it was nice to get to see a bit of things from Jacob’s POV for once.
As usual, Gomez did a great job with the narrating too.

5 “Jacob” Stars!
I don’t know if I have said this in previous reviews, because I have read every book in this intense, sexy series (and loved every minute) but Jordan Castillo Price really has a way with her words. There are not many authors that could entice me and captivate me, this many books later, and still make me greedy for more. I am hooked to Vic and Jacob, and getting a little insight into Jacob at just the right time seems to amp up my interest. Victor has kept us smiling and intrigued but Jacob… the sexy, brooding partner and lover gets your motor purrrrring! I love being a voyeur in their relationship!
As long as their are books, I will keep reading this series!!!!!

Having read the previous stories, this one just was not doing it for me.  While I appreciate what Price was trying to do, I thought that this story lacked chemistry between the main characters, was almost throwing in a different love story just because and it felt kind of jumbled for me.
I love the main characters, Jacob and Vic.  I love how their relationship has developed, the new things they have learned from each other and how they have developed in their powerful paranormal world.
I was disappointed in how little we saw of the other secondary characters and what we did see of them was quick and with hardly any substance.
I did like how the mystery of the “who done it” was ever present and that helped me get through this one.  But, with the unknowns being what they were, I just couldn’t really get behind this book.
Despite that, I did like how it continued through and helped to answer questions from the previous story.  I think that allowed me to rate the book a 4 star – because it answered questions and didn’t really pose more.
I can’t wait to see what Vic will do next.

This was another excellent addition to this series.. We get to see Victor gain a few abilities and the return of the GhosTV as they attempt to figure out what is going on with Lisa.
As usual the plot is crazy twisty and hard to put down. The men are crazy hot and I can’t help but love Victor’s wittiness while panting over Jacob’s hotness and the way he cares for Victor.
Gomez does an excellent job of narrating once again bringing live to the already great book written by Ms Price.
Can’t wait for more of these characters especially after the little surprise we get at the end!!!

So in this book we get a lot more of Vic and Jacob which I loved! They are worried about their friend Lisa who has gone missing.I do not want to go to much into this book and accidently give away any spoilers because you really need to read this series for yourself it is just so good!!
I love what this author has done with this series.. The way in every book you see Vic and Jacob grow so much closer to each other. Then their is Vic’s inner monologue which I just love the things he thinks to himself. How his characters his so strong but at times so shy and unsure of himself. He is honestly my favorite M/M character. Their is just something about his character that grabbed me from the first book. With this book they are dealing with a lot of different things while trying to find Lisa. You do see characters from the previous books in this series in this too.
I love how all the books in this series have had so much action and steam between Vic and Jacob which is always so hot! Every book I have read in this series has had me on the edge of my seat not wanting to put it down until the end. So I will leave this review with I really loved this book! If you are just finding this author or series, you need to start with Among the Living and go from there, you won’t regret it.
Jordan Castillo Price does not disappoint in this next instalment in the adventures of the PsyCops. You read some stories and you are happy when couple’s have separate jobs. But for some reason, the more time Vic and Jacob are together, the more they are exactly where they should be. I never once grew tired of reading them together.

This book was such a good addition to this series!
I love how snarky Duncan is in this book. So in this book you get more of the characters from the first book plus meet new characters too. There are animals attacking people in this book plus a very jealous dead wife who likes to cause trouble and tries to Possess people.
I have to say I love the humor the author puts in this story and how he mixes the action, plus the serious parts in perfectly so once I start reading it just grabs me so much that then I am staying up almost all night reading this book not wanting to put it down.
So you get Duncan who is a supernatural private investigator which I love his character. Then there was Robbie his ghost boyfriend who has been dead for 10 years and has been sticking around Duncan since he died. They are still very much in love and neither one is willing to let the other go. This part was so sweet to me and also so sad that Robbie died so young. Robbie does go through a lot of soul searching in this book trying to decide if it was better for him to let Duncan go and move on or not. Then you get Daisy the zombie dog and Gina the witch who is Duncan’s best friend. So I do not want to give away anymore of this book because you really need to read this series for yourself it is just so good!

So all together I really loved this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!

5 Stars for Duck Duck Ghost (Hellsinger #2) by Rhys Ford #MM #Paranormal @rhys_ford

1.5

Title: Duck Duck Ghost (Hellsinger #2)
Author Name & Publisher: Rhys Ford (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: September 8, 2014 – 240 pgs

Synopsis

Paranormal investigator Wolf Kincaid knows what his foot tastes like.

Mostly because he stuck it firmly in his mouth when his lover, Tristan Pryce, accidentally drugged him with a batch of psychotropic baklava. Needing to patch things up between them, Wolf drags Tristan to San Luis Obispo, hoping Tristan’s medium ability can help evict a troublesome spirit haunting an old farmhouse.

With Wolf’s sister handling Hoxne Grange’s spectral visitors, Tristan finds himself in the unique position of being able to leave home for the first time in forever, but Wolf’s roughshod treatment is the least of his worries. Tristan’s ad-hoc portal for passing spirits seems to be getting fewer and fewer guests, and despite his concern he’s broken his home, Tristan agrees to help Wolf’s cousin, Sey, kick her poltergeist to the proverbial curb.

San Luis Obispo brings its own bushel of troubles. Tristan’s ghost whispering skill is challenged not only by a terrorizing haunting but also by Wolf’s skeptical older cousin, Cin. Bookended by a pair of aggressive Kincaids, Tristan soon finds himself in a spectral battle that threatens not only his sanity but also his relationship with Wolf, the first man he’s ever loved.

This book was a awesome addition to this series!
So in this one Wolf and Tristan have a falling out. When they start trying to get things back to what they were before Wolf needs to go to his cousin Sey’s house because she is having troubles with ghosts. Well Wolf takes Tristan with him hoping to get Tristan to forgive him.
Well this book was so spooky that now I am kind of freaked out by my daughters many, many dolls lol.
Seriously this book was so good and I felt like I was feeling what they were while reading this. The authors pretense of this story was amazing and her characters in this book, what can I say other then I love these two MC’s and getting to see more of them in this book was awesome.
You see some of the characters from the first book like Mara and the red ball.
You also get your angst and the steam so hot between these two plus the action which had me on the edge of my seat worried for Wolf and Tristan. I will say I can not wait to read the next book in this series.

All together I really loved this book!

I would defiantly recommend this series!
