1.5

Title: Jade & Conrad (Storming Love: Wild Fire #5)
Author Name & Publisher: Talia Carmichael (MLR Press)
Publication Date & Length: October 6, 2015 – 50 pgs

Synopsis

Life brings an unexpected complication to a man who was only seeking some relaxation, yet what he found was a man who would light his soul on fire…

Jade Blakstone wanted some time away from his hectic schedule and took a trip to get away. He never expected to find a man who would strike all the right notes within him. Together they burn hot and fast, making Jade wonder if there is more between them than just a passing dalliance. But as hot as they burn for each other, so do the wild fires that have broken out. Conrad is a firefighter and Jade fears that they will be over before they begin when he goes to fight the fires raging in Northern California.

From their very first meeting, Conrad Kendrick knew Jade was something special. Now he just had to convince Jade that although they have chemistry, there was something that was even sweeter-the connection of two souls who have found their corresponding rhythm.

This story was really cute…
You get Jade the rock star who is very snarky and Conrad the fireman who fights wild fires.
The two of them together I could feel the connection between them. I don’t know that I would call this a insta-love novella. To me at least it was more of a slow burn were they built up their relationship while Jade was unsure of his feelings. You get your sweet and funny with this novella also.
All together I really liked this Novella!
I would recommend this book!

FourandHalfStarsGod I just love stories with rock stars. This was a great book just wish it was longer. It takes a little while for Conrad to realize who Jade was and I loved how the author was able to do that and not make it seem cliché. This was a great love story and I just didn’t want it to end. Even through it was still basically an instant love type of story it did not come across that way. Excellent job Ms. Carmichael.

5 and 4.5 Stars for Caleb & Shaun (Storming Love: Wild Fire #4) by Devon Rhodes #MM #Fireman @devonrhodes

1.5

Title: Caleb & Shaun (Storming Love: Wild Fire #4)
Author Name & Publisher: Devon Rhodes (MLR Press)
Publication Date & Length: September 27, 2015 – 47 pgs

Synopsis

Sometimes saying goodbye can end up saving a relationship.

Breaking up with Caleb was the hardest thing Shaun had ever done. It left a huge hole in his home and in his heart. But feeling like he was constantly competing with Caleb’s adrenaline-rush hobbies pushed him to make a stand…one he constantly second-guesses, especially now that Caleb’s gone with his Hot Shots team for a big fire in California.

Caleb knows he’s a lucky man. His family supports him and he’s able to do what he loves for both work and play. It took losing Shaun, though, for him to realize that his priorities were out of whack. And now his luck might be running out as his crew gets trapped by a fast-moving fire line.

All they really need is a second chance…if Caleb can stay alive long enough to make it home.

This book is the fourth book released in the Storming Love: Wild Fire collection, all by different authors and related by setting only. This is a stand-alone book.

So let me start of this review by telling you that I 100% loved this novella.
I love second chance romances and this one was done perfectly. You could feel the love between these two MC’s even though they were apart and how hurt they were by not being together.
Caleb is a adrenaline junkie to the point were he was constantly putting himself at risk and breaking plans with Shaun. Well Shaun eventually gets tired of it and I really don’t blame him. Sometimes breaking up and having to face a life without the person you love will really show you what you are losing.
I thought this book was sweet but not too sweet. The way they come back together had me on the edge of my seat hoping everything would work out happily ever after for them.
So all together I loved this novella! I would definitely recommend this book!

Devon Rhodes what more can you says. This book took a different turn then the others and I loved that. The others were new loves but this was an old love. I loved how the author brought Caleb and Shaun back together. It was quite clear that Caleb & Shaun still loved each other, which was something the author excelled at bringing to the forefront of the story. Great job!!

So while I liked this story.. There were just a few things I could not really wrap my head around.
Erick was a complete jerk to Cameron and treated him really bad so the whole auto forgive him that Cameron did was a huge no for me. I really felt like Erick needed to work for it more then he did and to be 100% percent honest the whole avoiding Cameron thing Erick did for a little bit there was annoying…
I did like everything else with this story and I thought Cameron was such a nice guy that he in no way deserved to be treated like he did. While I liked the pretense of this story and would have probably been anxious to see how they resolved their problems I felt like this was such a short story that there was just no way for me to get to that point were I could see Cameron forgiving Eric. Everything just kind of wrapped up too nicely for me… So I did like parts of this Novella but there were also parts I was just not a fan of personally.
Kara
FourStarsThis was a new author for me and I really enjoyed this short story. The characters were well laid out but what I didn’t enjoy was the way Erick treated Cameron. Then Cameron just let Erick back into his life with no discussion just flabbergasted me.  I realized this was a novella but I definitely think Erick should have put a little work into getting back together with Cameron. Overall the story was good. I definitely like the style of writing the author had would definitely read another of her stories.

Well I will start this review with while I thought it was cute and sweet it was just a little to sweet for my me. It was also a insta-love which most of the time I like but sometimes it moves to fast for me and I end up not really feeling the connection between the two MC’s and unfortunately I just did not feel the connection between Darragh and Aubrey.
You do get your hot fireman with this story and cute kittens which I did love but due to the lack of feeling a connection between these two I am sad to say this novella was just not for me…

Absolutely loved this book. The characters became so real to me. That shows signs of an excellent author. You get a hot fireman and loved the cute kitten. It was definitely an instant love that did make it a little had to believe but I’m sure it can happen that way in real life. This a short story and a light read. Excellent job T.A. Chase.

FiveStars

The Storming Love: Flood stories are part of the second Storming Love anthology. Compared to the Blizzard stories, these are much more cohesive. They all focus on the same flood, in the same small Texas town. Where there were some weaker stories in the Blizzard anthology, the writing of the Flood stories is consistently excellent. Each writer has chosen different men to write about, but the stories interlink and build on each other beautifully. This is a great collection.

Steven and Derrick’s story is one of the more exciting in this anthology. It is a great story to start the series with. The fire chief and the school teacher are at the centre of the action. Steven has to keep his pupils safe, while Derrick has responsibility for the whole town. These were the only two men the series who were in a relationship before the flood, and I enjoyed watching them try to balance their relationship with their professional responsibilities.
