This was an EXCELLENT extension of this series. The continued plot was just as good as the first book. The amount of suspense and thrill was just great. Exactly like the first book, I couldn’t put this one down.
There are so many twists and turns in this book, it was so exciting to read. I really loved the chemistry between the characters and not just Nox and Cade, but between Sam as well as he gets to experience life outside of living with his over protective father.
I can’t wait for the next part of this series since we are left with a cliffy.
Overall a really really great dystopian series.

This book was a great add to this series..

You get to see a more Cade and Nox also more of other characters from the first book. You also get to read more about Sam and Mason which was so sweet seeing the two of them together.
This time they are running trying to get away from who is after them, after what happened in the first book in this series.
So this is when I say I like a slow burn but this one is almost too slow for me.. Now when I say almost it is just to the point were I really feel like I did not get anymore from Cade and Nox then what I got in the first book and I was just hoping for a little more I guess.
Otherwise this has a lot of action, angst and mixed in with a little bit of steam. I really love this world the author has created. You get your bad guys also with this book and the ending just I cant say what happened but I so cant wait to read the next book.

All together I really liked this book and thought it was a great add to this series!

I would recommend this book!

In a dystopian near future, New York City has become the epicenter of decadence—gambling, the flesh trade, a playground for the wealthy. And underneath? At the beginning of the book, I was a little lost with all that was going on, but as the book got going and the world building continued, I really fell in love with the story line.
I really liked the way the flashbacks helped us figure out what was going on and where some of the feelings the characters were dealing with came from. They were very well tied and written into the story so as to help keep the suspense and intrigue flowing.
I do wish that we would’ve gotten more intimacy between Nox and Cade as it was such a sweet and special thing for both characters and really helped solidify their relationship to me.
The plotline was really really excellent too. I could’t put the book down until I got to the end.

Okay I liked the world this author built after the storm and the way everything was ran.
But for some reason I had a harder time getting into this book. It was about half way through before I really started getting into this story.
You get Nox who has been taking care of Sam since he was a baby when his parents were killed. Sam gets a letter delivered by Cade which honestly not sure how I feel about Cade’s character yet. One of Cade’s customers asks him to deliver the letter to Sam.
Which really starts of this book with the mystery of whether Sam’s parents are really dead or not and why Nox was so drawn to Cade.
There is a lot of action while they are dealing with the criminal element of Dead Bolt. There was a scene or two of steam between Cade and Nox but otherwise they were not together much in this book.

Honestly this one was a little slow to me at first and but it slowly build up to a very good pace. The only problem for me with that was it really did not happen till towards the end of this book.

So all together I really liked this book it was just a slow start for me..

I would recommend this book!

This book is about two woman trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world. With men who are evil and believe they are doing gods will.
I have to say the way the author portrayed this story was awesome! Because you know if something like this were to ever happen there would be those people that would act like this, that would be just plan evil.
Alex has lost everyone, her family and her partner who she loved so much. Now she is alone trying to survive by herself when she meets Murphy who quickly becomes her friend.
Evelyn is forced to marry the leader a cruel man in the community she lives in with her son. These two meet and the moment they do there is a instant connection.
They both must work together to survive this community. This book was filled with action, angst and sadness with what all the woman in this community must endure. I really liked this world the author created in this book and these characters.

All together I really loved this book!
I would recommend this book!

A really enjoyable read. The setting of this book is brilliantly portrayed and so descriptive you are immediately drawn into the whole essence of the novel, the dangers, the excitement and the uncertainty, which, so quickly, and, so intensely, is unfolding and exploding all around.
The main character is as vulnerable as she is brave, as reckless as she is cautious, making her believable and a great hero. Other characters in the book are also presented in different lights and with different qualities giving then equally authentic personae’s.
An abundance of exciting encounters, a growing romance and the unpredictable nature of some of the characters helps maintains the readers interest throughout this dramatic novel.
Although a futuristic novel the author does keep the novel pragmatic and concentrates on emotions and realisms to beguile her readers.
The only thing I felt was slightly disappointing  was the ending, which seemed too abrupt and succinct compared to the majority of the book which was so well explained and recounted. It also seemed a little too sentimental. Despite this misgiving I would certainly recommend this book and I will personally be looking out for more novels by this excellent author

Welllll… This was a different book.. That much I can say.
I’ll start with the pros. The plot was quite unique and I liked that. There is a lot that goes on that keeps the reader tuned in. The writing is very good and smooth. The characters were complex and interesting.
The cons…. I would have really liked for there to have been a much better intro into the story that gave us some more background on the story and how things came to be the way they are or even just more information about the way society was. I felt like we were thrown into a new world and expected to know how things worked without any explanation at the beginning. Sure by the end of the book I understood much more, but for a while it was so rough to get through.
I never understood why being female was such a bad thing and why everyone was called a male even though they clearly weren’t. It’s more of a trans story than Male/Male.
I think if there had been a better explanation at the beginning of the book it would’ve made the book better as a whole. A little explanation as to why there is such a difference in class would’ve been really helpful as well, but overall I enjoyed the book.

I think around the second chapter of this book is when my brain went “Uuuuuuuuh….” LOL
The plot for this book is very…weird but interesting. Unique? Honestly it confused me for a bit until I realized exactly what I was reading.
The book is set in a world where “females” don’t exist. Kinda. Sorta. See, something happened where most of the females died off, leaving the population with only males. Mostly. I thought I was going to be reading about an all male society with mpregs and such but it’s not like that. Not really. It’s like a gender bender.
The remaining females basically became “males”. They’re born female but they’re forced to be men after giving birth like 5 times. It’s nuts. Seriously, the author’s imagination is creative. Their boobs are chopped off but they still have female parts below the belt.
The story focuses on Ember, one of the few who was born female, gave birth to many kids, kids she’ll never see again, then she turned to a “he” to better fit in society dominated by males. It’s confusing but you just gotta go with the story. LOL

5, 4 and 3 Stars for Tin Man (Bliss #1.5) by Lisa Henry and Heidi Belleau #MM #Fantasy @HeidiBelleau @lisahenryonline

1.2

Title: Tin Man (Bliss #1.5)
Author Name & Publisher: Lisa Henry & Heidi Belleau (Riptide)
Publication Date & Length: July 20, 2015 – 134 pgs

Synopsis

Petty thief Ashoka “Ace” King knows better than to get in the way of Tophet’s Anti-Terrorist Unit. Rightfully feared in Tophet’s crime-ridden underbelly, a face-to-face encounter with an ATU is almost certainly a death sentence. But Ace has never been one to follow the rules.

Soren Lau might be an ATU rookie, but he’s not naive enough to believe everything his superiors tell him. Then again, he’s not stupid enough to disobey them, either. If he doesn’t shoot and kill as ordered, he might be next on their list.

But when Soren meets Ace, a moment’s hesitation is all it takes to put both their lives on the line. They don’t know each other, they don’t trust each other, and there’s no way in hell they can both walk away from this alive. But with suspicion and mortal danger mounting against both of them—and the forbidden attraction blazing between them—there’s nothing they can do but try.

I really enjoyed this story. The world was build beautifully and easy to slip into and believe all that was going on.

The story shows what it is like for ‘common people’ when there is abuse of power from those in charge.
I felt so strongly for the two main characters as they struggle with every day life and with what they have to do to survive in their broken down world.
Soren is on the law side, but is coming to terms with the fact that everything he thought to be truth isn’t so black and white. Ace is simply trying to live his life to make it another day when food is hard to come by as is a paying job.
The chemistry and rushed encounters we got with the two men were sexy. However, I didn’t particularly care for their scene when they finally get alone and not worried so much about being caught. I did understand Soren’s need to be forced and dominated after everything he’d been told about being gay, but it was more so the language used that turned me off from it.
I didn’t read the first story in this series but didn’t feel that I was missing anything, but I now can’t wait for more stories from this series.

This is my first read of the combo authors Lisa Henry and Heidi Belleau, and I couldn’t tell where one wrote or the other. It flowed smoothly. I haven’t read the previous book in the series, but I didn’t feel lost. Now, to the story…
WOW!! My heart was pounding for 3/4 of the story and I could.not.read fast enough! Gosh, what an intense Journey with Ace and Soren (sigh, I LOVE the name Soren!!!)
You just never knew what was going to happen and I loved that!!!!
The sexy times between these two men was captivating and intense and really hot!
I would read more in the series.

This book took me awhile to get into.. I kept stopping then coming back.
While I really liked the world these authors built and I have always been a fan of sci-fi/ romance books.
Ace was a criminal who had a hard time making it in this world.  For some reason he was attracted to Soren which honestly I just did not get.   There attraction was just hard for me to believe.
Soren was a very young man who worked for the government in this world.  When his government told him to kill someone they expected him to do it and when he did not kill Ace they went after him.
I did not really feel it with these characters.
Let me explain everything just moved so fast for me I just did not feel the two of them together.
I really liked the world these authors built and their writing style, it was mostly just the characters that did not grab me.
