SJD did it again. She was able to pull all the emotions out of me with this book. Jamie and Tek have got to be two of the strongest characters in this whole series in my opinion.

These two boys have lived more then one lifetime in their short lives on earth. Both was born on the same day and have been best friends from the start. Basically they have done everything together even join the motorcycle club Crimson VIII together that they grew up in. They had each other’s backs even when others did not. These two have been through hell with the club and have experienced everything from killing to protect the other to faking their own death to save one another.

Ending up in New York with Tek becoming a bouncer at Guards of Folsom they did not give into the temptation of adding a third into their mix. They have each other and if they want to experiment in the world of BDSM they will switch and experiment on each other even though they are both dominant individuals.

I just loved these two characters. They are the perfect compliment for each other. They both have the others back and are trustworthy to each other to a fault. Not to mention they love each other unconditionally. Even with all the bad that they have seen and done, both are positive people for the most part and they are both set on never going back to the bad and doing everything now above board.

This book was so good. I loved the background information that was given on how they grew up and how they ended up where they are now. And I loved seeing how loyal they are to one another and that never faltering. Amazing book. Can’t wait for the next one.

Let me first start this review by saying that I have not read any of the previous books in this series.  I read this as a standalone and didn’t feel lost once.

This was not at all what I thought this story was going to be about.  I have read a few other Peterson books and loved them, but when I saw this one, I was exceptionally excited.

At first, I thought this book was going to be more about the coming of age that both Tek and Jamie go through.  Growing up in a biker club, they knew their place right away.  This was especially true for Tek – the next club president.

Despite their secretly harbored love for each other, it took several years for them to come out to each other.  In the meantime, Jamie was heartbroken every time Tek was with a woman, and Tek was with women to mask his desire for his best friend, Jamie.  It was slight juvenile in story line, but Peterson made up for it in how much love you could see pass between the two.  Their constant worry for each other, their disregard for their own preservation when it comes to the other and in their stolen moments.  Despite the sex not being extremely descriptive, you could feel the chemistry between them and the heat.

I really liked that you were given snippets from their very young years and then jumped to their mid-teen years and finally to their adult years.  I thought that the accelerated timeline helped me understand their state of mind at each stage.

Then you have their tough decision – I do wish more came of that aspect, as I think it would have been interesting, but understand that books can only be so long.

In what I consider the second half of the story, their “grown” years, it was more that they had a fascination with Kink rather than an actual BDSM relationship.  You can see them in a new type of self-discovery – especially Jamie who seems much more interested in the lifestyle than Tek.  When Jamie is tested by a Dom in their club, I liked how he was able to describe his feelings – how he truly understood what it took to be a sub.  However, I wished that it were played out more – you still only really saw the Dom side of each character, despite them being switches.  And, maybe that’s it – they weren’t true switches.

At any rate, I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to see if their past catches them.

This is such a sweet story.  I love both main characters.  Kit is devoted to his patients, passionate about his education and terrified that his childhood leukemia has returned.  He is an inspiring mix of strength and fragility.

In contrast, Shepherd is a painfully shy bear of a man.  I loved his compassion – and fancied the pants off him!

This novella is too short to really navigate the complexities of a cancer scare, but the author does a great job of offering readers highlights without simplifying or rushing the HEA.  I still think that there is more than enough material for a novel here, and I’d love to see more of Kit and Shepherd.

The characters are great, the sex is hot and the story is well written.  I was in tears in a couple of places!  A great short romance.

Sarah
FourStars

Let me start out by saying that this is on the shorter side for the type of romance that is within the pages.  However, I felt that Okati did a great job hitting the highlights of their relationship.  You have two characters that are, I felt, great together.

Kit is a geriatric nurse tech working his way through school.  He has such plans for his life.  I loved his favorite patient, Gib.  He made me laugh and cry. When Kit meets Shepherd, there is instant chemistry and attraction.  While I normally don’t like insta-relationships, Okati did a good job at pacing this one.

Shepherd just sounds sexy.  He not only is huge, but he’s so caring.  I loved his character.

This story had me laughing out loud and crying all within a short amount of time.  While I wish the story had been more in-depth and longer in order to really dive in to the complexities of the relationship, I did feel it was a complete story.  I would definitely read more of Okati.

I loved the play of the characters off each other. The big man being the shy one. The cancer scare made me sad and all that comes with it. The pain that he feels and the caution he tries to take so he doesn’t have to love and leave someone behind if it what he feels it is.
There were points of laughter and some of sadness mixed in with sexy scenes that seemed to make it all glue together.
I can’t wait for the next part of this story and more from Willa Okati.

Nothing I love more than a biker book which includes hot men and romance.
I thought there was plenty of action, sex, and drama to make it interesting. It was a great story which read real quick.

The characters I thought were developed well.  Blue the cop and Solo the biker.  I liked Solo more between the two, he had more personality and sex appeal.  Plus he was a romantic at heart.

I thought it was a great start to a new series.  Makes you wonder if Rowdy will be next. Loved the cover!!

3.5 Stars for Deathtrap (The Wyverns #2) by L.M. Somerton #MM #Biker @Totally_Bound @lmsomerton

0.2

Title: Deathtrap (The Wyverns #2)
Author Name & Publisher: L.M. Somerton (Totally Bound Publishing)
Publication Date: June 16, 2015

Synopsis

A man without scars never had to fight for something he believed in.

A new relationship takes time and effort. A new relationship with Orlando de la Pena takes a whole lot more. As a Dom, Rogue knows what he wants, but Orlando refuses to fit neatly into the box labeled ‘submissive’. He’s feisty, demanding and far too pretty for his own good.

Orlando loves Rogue and he’s learning to love The Wyverns, but he hates being stuck out in the desert. Finding a niche in the world of bikes and fierce warriors is difficult, and Orlando’s impatience gets the better of him. He walks out into the desert and runs in to an antisocial diamondback.

Rogue has more than one problem to deal with. The Longhorns MC issues a challenge for territory. The Bellazi cartel is out for Wyvern blood. The Wyverns are under siege, and Rogue has to work out how to save not just Orlando, but all of them.

Reader Advisory: This books contains scenes of mild BDSM.

ThreeandHalfStars

I was excited to read more about Orlando and Rogue after the first one hoping we’d get to see their relationship develop more, but even though months have passed, they are basically at the same point and Orlando is being a naughty little sub.
Finally Rogue does put his foot down and get his boy in line. However, I felt like just like with the first story we were missing part of the story.
Sure another biker gang is coming to place a threat on them, but it is all resolved so quick and easily after a lot of build up it left me feeling…. unsatisfied.
Just like with what happens when Orlando strolls off on his own… We don’t get a whole lot of resolution with that part of the story either.
I think I just want more meat to the stories, more conclusions, more descriptions about what happened in these big events more than the descriptions of what it’s like riding a dirt bike through the desert at night. However, I’ll be interesting in picking up the next part (if there is one) since there is still something there that makes me want more of these men.

3.5 Stars for Mantrap by L.M. Somerton #MM #Biker @Totally_Bound @lmsomerton

0.2

Title: Mantrap (The Wyverns #1)
Author Name & Publisher: L.M. Somerton (Totally Bound Publishing)
Publication Date & Length: January 9, 2015 – 59 pgs

Synopsis

Not all cages have bars.

The Wyverns Motorcycle Club has a reputation as fierce as its dragon emblem. Its enigmatic leader, Rogue Hellaby, has a police file so thick you could prop up a table with it. The qualifications for membership are a reckless disregard for authority and the attitude of a spitting cobra. But The Wyverns MC is not quite what it seems. All the riders have dubious histories in the military or the police—now they just serve and protect their own interests and those of Horatio Trap, the manipulative bastard who recruited them.

When Rogue receives an instruction to kidnap and hold hostage the son of a powerful drug lord, he doesn’t bat an eyelid. But Rogue has never had to deal with a captive like Orlando de la Pena. Orlando is furious—not because he’s being held prisoner, but because he’s prevented from partying at his favorite BDSM club. Rogue discovers that the only way to deal with Orlando is to become the Dom he so obviously needs. But Orlando’s father wants him back, and The Wyverns must face a battle that could cost them their lives.

ThreeandHalfStars

I liked this story and the way the characters meet in the BDSM world. I love that Orlando is a snarky little sub who is just begging for a dom that can handle him. And boy does Rogue handle him.
However, I found that once they left the club, I wasn’t as interested. A lot of the plot line felt rushed and like things were moving along without taking me with them. Not a lot of information about what was happening or why.
The sex was hot. The BDSM worked great, but I think the plot was left a bit unexplored and the characters undeveloped.
However, that being said, I found it quite easy to read as the author’s style of writing was so clean and well done that I was through the book before I realized it only to think I’d missed something so I would most definitely keep reading the series to see where their story takes us.

I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads. No Matter What is part of the series (Sex and Mayhem). The plot starts out with Ghost and Luca not knowing each other except via internet, I found it was a nice twist to the book.

The main characters were so different in this book, then the others. I found myself wondering why in the world Ghost was so different then his father with living around the bike club his whole life. Then Luca, who Ghost assumed was a woman, clung to Ghost so much I found myself quite annoyed at that.

But the love between the two was spectacular throughout the whole book.  I like just how hard they had to fight for everything.  The ending brought tears to my eyes.

This was a great addition to the series, this book wasn’t as violent as the other books in the series.  Reads great as a standalone.  I hope there is more to come from this series.  Highly recommend.

Loved this book just as much as the last one.  I really enjoy Beth’s writing style.

Charlie, Lily and Givon are all amazing characters in their own way, however, together they have explosive chemistry and create an amazing unit.

I also loved that you caught glimpses of the other characters from previous stories.  While they do not play major roles, it was nice to see them interwoven together.

I can’t write much more without wanting to give things away, so I’ll just say that this is a series that just keeps on giving and I can’t wait for more!

FiveStarsI was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.
I love Beth Carter’s writing and this one was as good as the rest.  This is a great series about a Motorcycle club. The back story has  continued through all previous books. The story flows flawlessly through each book.

The back story has been captivating but incredibly sad.  What those ladies went through was awful. I love the play on the town that there all couples of three.  Someone else might find that odd, but that’s what keeps these books interesting to me. You know it’s going to happen, but its who will be part of the threesome that always keep me reading.

I loved the couple that Lily, Branch and Charlie made together.  Lily was a very strong woman and I think that’s what drew both Branch and Charlie to her.

I’m glad to see there is another book that is coming as a follow up, I would have been sad if it all ended with this book.  Excellent read and I highly recommend this series.

Well I’m disappointed this series is done.  Sure thought Alicia was one lucky girl throughout these books. (Laughing)   But once again it was flawless, the story concluded just as you would hope it would.  We have both Ace and Adam struggling with what to do.  But I loved how Alicia was strong and determined to make it on her own.I very much enjoyed these short steamy reads and highly recommend them to be read!!

While I LOVED this series, this book seemed to end too fast. Everything was resolved without any real conflict. I wish the men had had to work a little harder after accusing her of something so sad and awful.  Also, I wish her dad’s conflict had been not so easily resolved.
I understand that the book was more about their relationship – which is awesome, but in the end, it was just too easily wrapped up – despite me loving the ending.
This would also be great as 1 whole book instead of 5 parts too, but it was fun to read it in sections as well.
Avid
ThreeandHalfStarsAnd so it finally comes to an end.  After five installments of attraction, complication, misunderstanding, mistrust and some very hot sex scenes, we are finally at the last chapter. At the start of part 5, Alicia runs.  If Adam and Ace don’t trust her, she will work through her problems without them.  But Alicia is still at risk and without her men to protect her, she is vulnerable.I’ve given this slightly fewer stars than the other installments because so much happens in very few pages here.  We’re told about important events after they happen, we aren’t shown.  And while the HEA has been a long time coming, forgiveness and sex come a little too quickly for me in this final episode.

But the chemistry between the three characters is still hot and Orman writes some sizzling sex scenes as the lovers re-unite.

This is the first serialised story I’ve read and I’ve really enjoyed catching up on each installment as it was released.

Oh, North and Givon! I really enjoyed this story. It was quite predictable, but none the less entertaining to read. I did find the similarities between book one and book two to be a bit annoying.. you know, girl running from someone, needing protection, the older men who have absolutely no problem sharing this woman they instantly fell in love with.

Other than that, the characters were great. I really liked their development and bantering through out the book as they added a third to their friendship and turned it into a relationship. The hot biker, good cop combo was interesting.

The naughty scenes were better in this book compared to the last book. I think I figured out what about them particularily bothered me… It’s the language. The rest of the book is pretty clean language wise, but then in the bedroom there is some naughty terms tossed in with the sweet, not too sexy terms (like slit and juice, not sexy to me). However towards the end things seemed to come together and because a bit racier in terms of flow and it was much better to me.

I do hope the next relationship has some MM action or at least a variety on the damsel in distress and falling instantly for her heros plot.

I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high rollers. I try to write characters who aren’t cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.

I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things. I’ve lived in France, traveled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I am a mom to an amazing little boy. I’m surrounded by friends and family. And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my ereader, which I’ve named Ruby. I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web.
