Ben Rider and Nikolas Mikkelsen learn that danger comes in all shapes and sizes and often in places you least expect it.

Convinced Russia’s vastness will swallow Nikolas, Ben doesn’t see the enemy much closer to home. Thinking he has lost Nikolas, Ben then makes a terrible decision that threatens to destroy everything they have together. This book was such a good addition to this series!

With this book we get more of Nikola and Ben as they closer to each other while at the same time we learn more about Nikola and what causes the darkness within himself. Now Nikola is very dark and scary which I don’t blame him after everything that happened to him in his life. It was very hard reading parts of this so here is a warning that some parts of this book are dark and may be hard for some to read I know it was for me..

Everything Nikola went through was horrible and what he had to do there are just no words.. I felt like Ben really being there with him brings something out in Nikola maybe something good? Which helps Nikola with the dark inside.

Nikola must go on a trip which leaves Ben on his own. Ben decides to go to where Nikola is from and learn Danish. There was so much action and on the edge of your seat moments in this book. This author grabbed me from the start and I could not put this book down until the end.

I loved the way this author wrote these characters with Nikola’s dark, scary personality which draws you in wanting to learn more about him to Ben’s light, loving personality but also the dark inside of him too.

All together I really loved this book and can not wait to read the next one in this series!
I would recommend this book!

o I will start of this review with a warning… There are parts in this book that will be hard for some to read in this book, I know they were very hard for me and some that I just could not read.

Okay well this book I just do not know how to explain exactly how I felt about this book… So I will try without giving away too many spoilers. The first part of this book was just ugh I cried so much for these boys. Then there was the second part of this book which I have to be honest and say was just way to much for me. I guess there is drama and then there is just way to much where you reach the point in a book that is becomes unbelievable and sadly a little annoying.

Now I really did like Caleb’s character and I did feel so bad for these two men. But I have to be honest and say even though I really do like dark novels, this one was just way to much for me and I am sad to say this book was just not for me…

TWO 5 and One 4 Star Reviews for Saving Ren (Baretti Security Series #3) by Sloan Kennedy #MMM #Romance @sloane_kennedy

26846304

Title: Saving Ren (Barretti Security Series #3)
Author Name: Sloane Kennedy
Publication Date & Length: September 30, 2015 – 232 pgs

Synopsis

Three men brought together by circumstance who found something none of them knew they needed…

Ren Barretti has finally come home after a year of being held captive by the terrorists who slaughtered his entire Special Forces team. But he can’t escape the nightmares that torment him or the guilt that he was the only one to walk away. The life his older brothers have brought him home to doesn’t exist for him anymore and to keep them and their loved ones safe from the rage and pain that consume him, Ren needs to disappear.

Police Detective Declan Hale has felt an undeniable pull towards the very straight Ren Barretti since the day Ren’s brother married Declan’s younger sister almost a dozen years earlier. But even though the Ren who has come home isn’t the one who left, all of Declan’s feelings come rushing back to the surface and he steps in to help the only man he’s ever truly wanted. And even though there’s no future for them, keeping Ren safe is all that matters and Declan will risk anything to make that happen.

Tough as nails former soldier and mercenary Jagger Varos has returned to Seattle after years of running from his past and he’s hoping that joining Barretti Security Group will help him finally call the city he left behind home. But within weeks, his new beginning is tested after multiple run-ins with the gruff, infuriating Detective Hale. When he inadvertently discovers that Declan is hiding Ren from the very brothers offering Jagger a new start, Jagger finds himself torn between his newfound loyalty to Vin and Dom Barretti and the need to protect the young man he himself helped rescue from his captors.

For Declan and Jagger, it’s hate at first sight but they soon realize that they will need each other if they have any hope of saving Ren from himself. And neither of them expects their mutual distrust in one another to grow into something else entirely or that Ren himself will find in both of them what he needs to rebuild his life and come to terms with who he really is.

Can the fierce attraction between three men become something more or will the demands of the real world tear them apart?

Note: This book contains explicit M/M/M content and is intended for mature audiences

Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. No cliffhangers.

This was an emotional roller-coaster!  It was so good that I know that I am going to have a hard time putting everything I want to say about this story in to a coherent review.

Starting out – Jagger is such the alpha male character.  He is strong, hard headed at times and loves deeply.  He not only has to overcome his own insecurities, but help Declan and Ren overcome theirs.  I loved getting to know a little more about this deep, severely loyal man.  Despite his outward appearance, he is just as in need of saving as Ren.  Each carry their own scars.

Then you have Declan.  Despite his holding a candle for Ren for so long, his new outlook on the developing feelings he has for Jagger are not only confusing, but scary too.  Declan has a past that is not altogether horrible, but not hearts and rainbows either.  Despite his wanting to protect and love Ren, Declan knows that he might be in over his head.  I love that you get to see his struggle – his desperate attempts at keeping his life in order.

Finally, you have Ren.  He is slightly different, but still there.  His story is so sad – but in the end, it’s so uplifting.  He gets to live his own life, on his own terms.  And, while the journey to achieve that is hard, in the end, Declan and Jagger love him no less.

Their story is full of angst, love, passion, some very hot scenes, compassion and grace.  It spans quite a few months, so you don’t have that insta-love feeling and you really get to know the inner thoughts of each character and their own struggles.  It was an amazing story and my favorite thus far in the series.

I can’t wait for the next story to come out.  Sitting on pins and needles here!!!

This book was such a good addition to this series!
So I will be honest I was a little hesitant going into this book because I am so picky about ménages. Let me just say the way the author wrote these three men together was perfect! Everything was equal and I honestly did not feel like anyone was being left out at all.
Declan who is Dom’s wife that passed a way’s brother is a cop which his how he meets Jagger who is under arrest. Well lets just say these two did not get along at first. Well without anyone knowing Declan has been helping Renwho has severe PSTD. Jagger follows Declan to the cabin Ren is at, that is when all three of them met. The sparks between these three were awesome.
The way the author told this story was really good! Ren has to go through so much trying to get better after what happened with to him in the army and Jagger and Declan are there for him the whole way. You do get some angst with this book and the sweet between these three but lets not forget the steam which was off the charts hot! You also see a lot of the same characters from the first book in this one too. Now I want to leave this review with I really hope that the next book in this series will be Conner’s book.. Maybe with Zane:).I just really want to see Conner get his HEA after everything he has been through.

All together I really loved this book!
I would definitely 100% Recommend this book!

Not gonna lie, I haven’t even read Book 1 or 2 yet. I skipped to 3 ’cause it sounded too interesting. I’ve never read a book by this author before, but that didn’t bother me. I like to read. 🙂
So, this is a threesome with a cop (Declan), a former mercenary turned bodyguard (Jagger) and a former soldier (Ren). This had all my favorite themes so of course I just had to read it when it was offered. I liked this threesome. Ren was all kinds of messed up when he returned from being held prisoner for a year. Jagger was part of the team that got him back. Declan is the brother-in-law of one of Ren’s older brother. He let Ren go and handed the code to his cabin because he’s been in love with Ren for 10 yrs. Ren wanted to hide from the world, afraid of what his PTSD/blackouts would make him do.
The author did a great job making them a THREESOME, not 2 guys plus 1 extra guy. I really hate reading threesomes like that. And I liked how they each showed passion for one another equally. Sometimes authors fail to do that and Sloane Kennedy did a pretty awesome job. They fell for each other pretty fast, but their passion was HOT HOT HOT. actually, I kinda thought that there was too many sex scenes and not enough plot. That’s why it’s 4 stars instead of 5. I will admit, however, that I was dying for them to finally get together. When they did, I was like “Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.”
I wish there was some action scenes. I mean, a cop, a mercenary and a soldier…can I get an action scene please? lol. I was disappointed that there wasn’t one. Ah well, can’t have’em all. I’m glad I found this author though.
I’m going to read Book 2. Book 3 made me too curious. Book 2 was happening in the same timeline as Book 3 so the readers gets bits and pieces of book 2’s plot.
Can I get more Declan, Jagger and Ren time? ;P

**AUDIOBOOK REVIEW**

This was a very intriguing story. I wasn’t exactly sure where it was going when I first started it but the twists it took were great! The transition from friends to lovers to family was really smooth and believeable even with Tristan’s horrid past holding him back.
The threesome angle was really different and I liked it. The fact that one of them isn’t in it for an intimate relationship, but rather the feeling of being wanted/needed was nice to see even though it was unexpected.
While I found the book great, I had a bit of an issue with the narrator. Some words were mispronounced and he said ‘bean’ instead of ‘been’ every time. And the airy quality in the background was annoying at first, but I got used to it as the book continued.

**AUDIOBOOK REVIEW**
This was a very hard book to listen to for me. There were many times it made my stomach hurt and I wanted to yell and scream because of the abusive relationship one of the men has to endure.
I really connected with both the characters and their reasons behind their actions.
I want to say so much, but don’t want to give much away about what happens or where the book goes, just know that I enjoyed it (and hated it at times).
It’s a great book that made me sick at times.. I know so contradictory, but it’s exactly how I feel.

**Audiobook Review**

There is a lot of emotions in this book. It starts off quite hot, but then we get to learn more about each characters and really get to see what makes them tick. I will say my favorite thing about this book was how the characters supported each other through the various situations that they go through as a couple, and past issues.
There was some humor and really witty parts that made me laugh and connect with the characters.
I didn’t care for the abrupt introduction of one of the characters and how big of a part she played in certain things, but other than that I liked the messy, stressful, complicated relationship that was built between the men even with the large age gap between them.
Since this was my first book by this author, I’ll have to say that I am totally on board with reading more from her.
I will note that the audiobook was quite airy sounding at times and I felt like that really took away from the story at times as it was distracting, but the narrator himself, did an excellent job.

While I did find this story very steamy it was just too short for me to be able to like the three of them together..

With this story we get Neill a Fae who escapes for one night after he finds out his mother is planning on having him marry. He meets Luca and Jovan who are lion shifters that are mates looking for their third.

There was steam with this short story which I really did like and I also really liked the authors pretense of this story. I would have just liked to have seen them together a little more than I got to so I could feel like they made a good ménage.

So all together I really did like this story, there was just not enough of the three of them together for me to believe they fit well as mates.

All together I really liked this book!
I would recommend this book!

My reason for wanting to read this book was that I had read book #2 Justice for Me, not knowing that it was actually the second book in a series. I loved that book and had to read the first one. Holy crap! This book was amazing! If you don’t like dark this book isn’t for you, it deals with sex slaves, rape, torture and a few other dark items. You can’t help but fall in love with Jasper and feel his every emotion that he goes through in this book. I can’t tell you how many times I cried while reading this book, not because I was sad but because I felt his emotions so strongly it felt as if I was going through everything with him. I wasn’t really a big fan of Susannah, she just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason, a reason I can’t really explain but I felt it all the same. It was a long book but well worth the read, highly recommend.

I will admit this one took me awhile to get into and sometimes Armand’s over the top possessive attitude would get on my nerves. It was just a little to much sometimes but other then that I thought this book was really good.
So Seth comes running out of Alley after almost being killed. Well he runs right up to Arman’s limo and starts pounding on the door for help. Well as soon as Armand scents his mate is Seth let me say he did not let him out of his sight again after that.
You get danger in this book and steam which was really good. But I am not sure how I feel about Seth’s character after this book because the way he just accepted everything so quickly was hard for me to wrap my head around to be honest.
So all together I did like this book even though some parts were a little annoying with Armand over possessive attitude and Seth’s easy acceptance of everything. I also did really like the way this author built this shifter world in this book.

Kara

FourStars

What drew me to this book was werewolves in Manhattan. I usually read about them out west in or near the forest. So the idea of werewolves in a big city like Manhattan was very intriguing.

The plot line is incredible. Reminds me of a fairy tale of the Prince falling in love with a commoner. This time, though it’s a poor homeless young man who was kicked to the curb by his father being rescued by the Alpha.

The beginning of this book was a little difficult to read because of Armond being so 19th century formal in his speech and Sean being very quick to accept everything. Once you get into the middle of the book and after the wedding then everything just falls into place. The book greatly improves, the typos and such diminishes and the plot line accelerates and becomes really great. I love the ending as there was a lot of action and suspense and you never knew what was going to happen.

I would recommend this book as long as you can stick with it and know that it will get better and ignore the editorial mistakes. The plot line is really great and you won’t be disappointed.

4.5, 4 and TWO 3 Stars for Inked Souls (Scarred Souls #2) by T.T. Kove #MM #Romance @ttkove

1.2

Title: Inked Souls (Scarred Souls #2)
Author Name & Publisher: T.T. Kove (Less Than Three Press)

Kian didn’t anticipate being dragged along while his friend got a tattoo as anything but a waste of time. Then he meets Silver, a handsome tattoo artist who provokes all sort of x-rated thoughts and ambitions. More intriguing, Silver’s been waiting for a chance to get to know Kian.

A relationship wasn’t what Kian was expecting when they fall into bed, but he’s not opposed. But the beginning of a relationship is the easy part, it’s everything after that’s a challenge—especially when the danger of disease and infection enter the picture.

Triggers: Self harm, death
The beginning of this story was somewhat perplexing.  I knew that this book would be the story of Silver and Kian, however, the book was, for me, drastically different than what the prologue presents.
I did really enjoy the relationship between Silver and Kian, but it seemed very tame too.  Even having read the previous book, I was expecting a little more heat between Kian and Silver.  Now, don’t mistake heat to mean no chemistry, because they had great chemistry.
I think this story was the more clear when I figured out that this was about acceptance, family and who you choose to allow in to your life.  I wanted to hurt Silver’s family (well, his parents) a lot when they were so judgmental of Kian.  I really loved how Vincent and Silver stood up to their folks.  And, even though, for me, the issue was not resolved, it was not glossed over either.
Because the characters crossover between book 1 and book 2, it helped me see the characters in a different light too.  I got to see the relationship side of Silver as well as the concerned friend side.  Even Damien’s character was slightly different in this story, partly because you were seeing him through Kian’s eyes.
Overall, I enjoyed this story, but if you’re looking for super sexy reads, thus far, this series is very tame.

This book runs parallel as Scarred Souls so you get to see both sides of the story just in different books. This book isn’t as much as a dark read as Scarred Souls but it still has some dark moments. I fell in love with Kian right from the beginning and Silver was also great. These two people had to deal with some major health issues pretty much from the beginning along with their other issues. The chemistry between Silver and Kian was very obvious and that was clear right from the beginning. Not sure if the author is planning any more books in the series but would love to see more of these characters.

Again this is a dark read and I caution anyone who has a problem with abuse.

I liked this story but just did not love it… I don’t really know why it just did not grab me.
You get Kian who has just reconnected with his father and  is in a better place.  Kian works at a saloon where Silver first sees him.
Then you get Silver a tattoo artist who was in a terrible accident were he lost people close to him.
Okay I did not have a problem with the characters and all they actually fit well together. There was a little angst and pretty much from the first time they were together they stay connected. You could feel the love between the two of them. But other than that the story just did not grab me at all…
This one was just not for me…

This is the second book in the series; I read the first one and wasn’t really a fan of it but thought I would give this one a shot anyway. Sad to say, this one didn’t do much for me either. I was bored at times. I could at least feel some of the chemistry between these two. These characters didn’t have as much angst or issues as the first books characters which was a relief. Either the writing style isn’t for me or maybe the subject matter isn’t but this series just isn’t working for me.
