Author Name & Publisher: Amy Lane (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: April 26, 2013 – 260 pgs

“I’ll do anything.”

Staff Sergeant Jasper “Ace” Atchison takes one look at Private Sonny Daye and knows that every word on paper about him is pure, unadulterated bullshit. But Sonny is desperate, and although Ace isn’t going to take him up on his offer of “anything,” that doesn’t mean he isn’t tempted.

Instead, Ace takes Sonny under his wing, protecting him when they’re in the service and making plans with him when they get out. Together, they’re going to own a garage and build race cars and make their fortune hurtling faster than light across the desert. Together, they’re going to rewrite the past, make Sonny Daye a whole and happy person, and put the ghosts in Ace’s heart to rest.

But not even Sonny can build a car fast enough to escape the ghosts of the past. When Sonny’s ghosts drive them down and run their plans off the road, Ace finds out exactly what he’s made of. Maybe Sonny was the one to promise Ace anything, but there is nothing under the sun Ace won’t do to keep Sonny safe from harm.

OMG this book was so good!

You get Angst, Sweet and Action in this book. Also the steam in this book was so hot!
Ace and Sunny served together in the war. That is were they meet and Ace promises him they will start a garage when they get out together.
This book was just wow!!! You meet a lot of characters that become friends of these two. Sunny has been through a lot in the past and Ace is there for him protecting him and helping him through everything. What happened to Sunny I felt so bad for him and you could really tell how much it really affected him.
The way Ace was their for Sunny and Vice Versa. I just loved them so much as a couple, they felt so right together.

All together I really loved this book!

I would definitely recommend this book!

I actually really adored this story. Amy Lane has become my favorite author. There is just something about the way she writes that sucks me in each and every time.
The military aspect is what drew me to this book even though they are both out for the majority of the book. There is some dark things that happen in the book, but they totally make me hoot for joy when they happened because if I’d been in their places I would’ve done the same things.
However, as much as I loved the story…. Sonny was a bit much for me. He was a bit creepy at times, although I understand that his past made him the way he was it was hard for me. Plus the fact that Ace never once stopped in the beginning to think if the plans he was making were for him, all that mattered is that they were for Sonny.
The narration was excellent from Nick J. Russo. I don’t believe I’ve listened to one of his books before but I enjoyed it as he took us through fast and energetic car scenes to breaking down crying scenes without losing a beat and still keeping the reader drawn in with the changing inflections and tones.
