FOUR 5 Stars for Memento: A PsyCop Short (PsyCop #6.2) by Jordan Castillo Price #MM #Paranormal

1.5

Title: Memento: A PsyCop Short (PsyCop #6.2)
Author Name: Jordan Castillo Price
Publication Date & Length: November 13, 2015 – 21 pgs

Synopsis

Seasons change, and so do fashion trends. But in this heartstring-tugging PsyCop short, what’s beneath the clothes matters most.

Do clothes make the man? Jacob Marks cuts an impressive figure in his tailored suits, but Victor Bayne is another story. Nowadays, Vic does his ghosthunting in off-the-rack blazers, polyester blend slacks and cop shoes with nonskid soles. But back before he was a PsyCop—or even officially psychic—he rocked combat boots and a beat up biker jacket…and lots and lots of punk T-shirts. When he finds a faded tee in the back of a drawer, he’s eager to lob it in the trash. Jacob, however, finds himself waxing sentimental about Vic’s younger, more carefree days.

This was an intimate, sweet story with some very awesome chemistry.  I love reading from Jacob’s POV.  He is always so reserved and subtle when it comes to the actual novels, but in this short story, he is an open book.  The intimate feelings, the sighs that help the reader see between the sheets and the overall feeling of this short story was great.
I wish there were more chapters like this short story.

FiveStarsLoved this short story!

So with this story we get Jacob’s POV which I though was awesome. I have always wondered what he is thinking when I have read the previous books in this series and you definitely get the steamy thoughts he has of Vic with this story.
This story is more of a day in the life of these men and how sometimes it can be hard to let go of items that may hold good memories or are just something special to you.
Also this story was so very hot!!! So yes you get the steam in this story but you also get to see how much Jacob really cares for Vic.

I will leave this review with I really loved this short story!
I would definitely recommend this!

This was an adorable… and hot short for my two favorite men. I love that we get to see a tiny bit of Jacob and Vic outside of crime and spirits and what their life is like when things are normal.
Plus, it was nice to get to see a bit of things from Jacob’s POV for once.
As usual, Gomez did a great job with the narrating too.

5 “Jacob” Stars!
I don’t know if I have said this in previous reviews, because I have read every book in this intense, sexy series (and loved every minute) but Jordan Castillo Price really has a way with her words. There are not many authors that could entice me and captivate me, this many books later, and still make me greedy for more. I am hooked to Vic and Jacob, and getting a little insight into Jacob at just the right time seems to amp up my interest. Victor has kept us smiling and intrigued but Jacob… the sexy, brooding partner and lover gets your motor purrrrring! I love being a voyeur in their relationship!
As long as their are books, I will keep reading this series!!!!!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads.

5 and TWO 4 Stars for Don’t Stop Believing (Silver Pines #1) by Gwen Hayes #MM #Romance

Title: Don’t Stop Believing (Silver Pines #1)
Author Name: Gwen Hayes
Publication Date & Length: November 3, 2015 –  59 pgs

Synopsis

The Ogre from the Hill

Simon Powell, the town recluse, only comes to town to deliver firewood and get supplies. Two days before Christmas, he sees the new librarian’s car in a ditch and knows he can’t leave him on the road, but it’s too late to take him back to town. He’ll have something he’s never had in his cabin in the ten years that’s he’s lived there…company.

The Book Nerd from the City

Adam Parker moved to the small community to make big changes in his life, but being snowbound with the bearded lumberjack in his rustic cabin was something he’d thought only existed in his fantasies. Simon pushes away anyone who wants to get close to him, but Adam sees what he’s hiding in his heart and he wants it. Badly.

A Christmas to Remember

Adam smells like cinnamon and redemption and Simon aches to run his fingers over the scrape of stubble on his cheeks. To pull him into a kiss. To reignite feelings he’d denied himself for too long. Life is right there, blazing in the eyes of the town librarian. A man who isn’t afraid of him. But he learned long ago that everything he touches gets tainted, and he’ll do anything to keep his darkness away from Adam’s light.

But Adam has something else on his side—he’s been a very good boy this year and all he wants for Christmas is Simon.

Such a sweet Christmas Novella!

In this book you get Simon who was a Navy Seal until he was hurt then he became a recluse who takes animals in that need help.
Then there was Adam the towns new Librarian who is attracted to Simon and wants to bring him out of his shell.
Something happens that leaves Adam stranded in a snow storm until Simon rescues him from the side of the road.

I don’t want to go much more into this book because this is a short story and I don’t want to give away any spoilers. So I will say this book was so sweet. I loved the way this author wrote these characters and this story! Yes this was a short Novella but I felt the way the story was done that everything fit perfectly! This is the perfect Novella for Christmas about a mans journey through pain and back to find love again.

All together I loved this Christmas Novella!
I would recommend this book!

4 Tears and Smiles Stars!!
My favourite time of the year and favourite Journey song are what pulled me into the blurb for this story. The author grabbed my attention and kept it for the whole story. It might have been short but it gave me enough details about both main characters and they made their way into my heart.
Simon broke my heart, and made it smile. Could feel the intensity between Simon and Adam from the pages!! A perfect story of a wounded hero healing and get you in the mood for the holidays!
I would read more by this author!

FourStarsThis is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was a very sweet story with a Christmas time theme. I did not like how all the love scenes (sex scenes) are always in the back burner. I don’t know why the author would do that. However, I really like how the men seem to dance around each other before finally getting together. I absolutely loved the book nerd (Adam) but took me a while to warm up to Simon (the ogre from the hill). Overall a really good story I just like my sex scenes on page.

Having read the previous stories, this one just was not doing it for me.  While I appreciate what Price was trying to do, I thought that this story lacked chemistry between the main characters, was almost throwing in a different love story just because and it felt kind of jumbled for me.
I love the main characters, Jacob and Vic.  I love how their relationship has developed, the new things they have learned from each other and how they have developed in their powerful paranormal world.
I was disappointed in how little we saw of the other secondary characters and what we did see of them was quick and with hardly any substance.
I did like how the mystery of the “who done it” was ever present and that helped me get through this one.  But, with the unknowns being what they were, I just couldn’t really get behind this book.
Despite that, I did like how it continued through and helped to answer questions from the previous story.  I think that allowed me to rate the book a 4 star – because it answered questions and didn’t really pose more.
I can’t wait to see what Vic will do next.

This was another excellent addition to this series.. We get to see Victor gain a few abilities and the return of the GhosTV as they attempt to figure out what is going on with Lisa.
As usual the plot is crazy twisty and hard to put down. The men are crazy hot and I can’t help but love Victor’s wittiness while panting over Jacob’s hotness and the way he cares for Victor.
Gomez does an excellent job of narrating once again bringing live to the already great book written by Ms Price.
Can’t wait for more of these characters especially after the little surprise we get at the end!!!

FiveStarsThis book was another really good addition to this series!
So in this book we get a lot more of Vic and Jacob which I loved! They are worried about their friend Lisa who has gone missing.I do not want to go to much into this book and accidently give away any spoilers because you really need to read this series for yourself it is just so good!!
I love what this author has done with this series.. The way in every book you see Vic and Jacob grow so much closer to each other. Then their is Vic’s inner monologue which I just love the things he thinks to himself. How his characters his so strong but at times so shy and unsure of himself. He is honestly my favorite M/M character. Their is just something about his character that grabbed me from the first book. With this book they are dealing with a lot of different things while trying to find Lisa. You do see characters from the previous books in this series in this too.
I love how all the books in this series have had so much action and steam between Vic and Jacob which is always so hot! Every book I have read in this series has had me on the edge of my seat not wanting to put it down until the end. So I will leave this review with I really loved this book! I would definitely recommend this series!

5 Captivated Stars!!
I will never get bored reading about Vic and Jacob!!!! There are multiple stories out and I have read them all. And I can’t wait to read the rest.
(Vic and Jacob; the names suit them perfectly!!!)
If you are just finding this author or series, you need to start with Among the Living and go from there, you won’t regret it.
Jordan Castillo Price does not disappoint in this next instalment in the adventures of the PsyCops. You read some stories and you are happy when couple’s have separate jobs. But for some reason, the more time Vic and Jacob are together, the more they are exactly where they should be. I never once grew tired of reading them together.
The author takes you on another intriguing and interesting journey with the PsyCops that solidifies their already intense relationship.
On to the next one!

3.5 Mess With Your Head Stars!
I read the first book in this series and I found it interesting and heartfelt. I definitely recommend reading the first one, Evolution, or you will be lost.
I definitely have to give the author some props for creating a series that will keep you on your toes and your emotions stretched to the absolute maximum. Lissa Kasey takes you on an adventure that will leave you depleted and exasperated and joyous and completely pissed off at some parts!!! Isn’t that the sign of an amazing author? The emotions they can invoke.
This story does not disappoint but it does disappoint at some parts. Contradictory eh? Well, that’s how I felt reading it. Loved it and hated it, sometimes on the same page!!!
My favourite part, alternating POV’s. I love LOVE being inside the head of men. Its gritty, and grungy, and raw. Captivating to read such powerful emotions.
If you dare, jump on the crazy train and hold on, its gonna be a bumpy, but not a boring ride! haha

ThreeStar

So as much as I did like the first book in this series, sadly this one was just not for me…
With this book Genesis and Kerstrande start of having problems so they break up and get back together then later on in the book it happens again. Well I have to say I am not a fan of a lot of on and off in a relationship between the two MC’s happening in a book so that got a little annoying.
Then there was the way Kerstrande treated Genesis by the way he talks to him, then letting him go off and get hurt by one of his associates. Yes he did have some good moments but all the bad things he did too Genesis overshadowed that for me so I was left thinking Genesis could do so much better.
I do understand Genesis’s character more know and how much he does care for his family and friends. Also there was his loneliness which I think made me feel worse for him being in a relationship with Kerstrande because honestly to me he deserved so much better. So sadly after this reading this book I no longer feel like they fit together so well anymore.
I still loved the world this author built and were she was going with this story. There were just a few parts sadly in this book that unfortunately overshadowed the good for me.

So I am sad to say this book was just not for me…

If your looking for a quick very sexy read, this one will be that book.  Lorne and Anthony are looking for the perfect woman to add to their three some.

Lorne is very sweet to Alexa when he meets her but Anthony was uninterested in getting to know her. I kinda thought he was a jerk.  But after one night together he changed his mind.

The story was just about the three having sex.

Sherry

ThreeStar

I normally love Knight books, but this one just didn’t do it for me.  It was so quick and mainly sex.  While the sex was hot, the relationship was under developed and seemed almost strained at times.
I wanted more development of an actual story, rather than the men, Lorne and Antony finding a woman who was able to handle both of their love.  It hinted at a past, but we were not given much of it.
I also wished that the female character had more of a spine – she seemed to just go with the flow, being OK with not hearing from Lorne for a few weeks and then just being OK with what they were suggesting.
Overall, this was a quick, steamy read that was not very developed.

It’s short. It’s sexy. It’s not really a story with much guts but lots of sex. Sometimes you just want the gritty details, and lots of skin on skin. This is a ‘quick fix,’ so to speak. hehe

She has a ton of books out, but I haven’t read this author before. I am not scared off, I would read more by this author!

This is the 2nd novel in the Society of Gentlemen stories and while it is considered a standalone, there are characters from the first story, A Fashionable Indulgence in it. You won’t be sorry if you read the first one.. its delish!
Now, this story. It starts off ..with a “bang” and pulls you in, well it pulled me in… good and hard!!! That was a smoking hot start. And I remained captivated through the story.
There are writers who just get it, KJ Charles gets it!!!! The words. They made me swoon, smile, swoon some more and smile a lot more.
When you read a Historical Romance, there are expectations; intensity, forbidden passion, an intriguing story, and all of those were fully met in this story!
This is not just a story about forbidden lust… there is also a side story, that has heart-pounding moments!!!!

While I found the idea of a second chance romance appealing, there was something off for me. The author was a good story teller, I just felt animosity towards one of the characters and didn’t really shake it off.
It was short and sweet and I was intrigued enough that I did finish reading the story. The characters do have chemistry. It is told in alternating POV’s and I love that part. I love being inside the head of men! I was glad that it didn’t have too much bs!!!

Combine Cinderella with wolf mating, include devoted elves/sentries and teenage reindeer who love to prank, add a dash of Peter Pan and you have one awesome Christmas story.

The author creates a perfect set of characters. Dash is your workaholic, young toy store owner with a BFF by the name of Wendy and you have the hunky, gorgeous Nik who takes his heart and the sentries Pumpkin and Tinsel. The names the author gives the characters are so holiday appropriate and causes one to giggle. The reindeer are cute and so lovable. I wish they were more in the story.

I highly recommend this book. I will even go so far as to say it is a must read for the Christmas season. It’s short, you can read it in under two hours, and will refresh you and get you ready for the holiday season.

FourandHalfStars

This is a quick, fun read that I was able to enjoy in a single afternoon. At first, I thought it was going to just be a cute and fluffy “St. Nick finds a boyfriend” kind of tale, but I was wrong, and I loved this unusual take on a common Christmas theme.

For such a short story, there was a lot of world-building. I was a little confused toward the beginning, but everything unfolded nicely and I caught up fast. There wasn’t a lot of time spent on explaining everything about the particulars of the North Pole and its magic. It was nicely woven into the story, which is the best way to do it when space is limited. Though I have to admit, I would have enjoyed a longer story–Nic’s world was fascinating, and I wanted to know more.

I was surprised that it took a more serious turn with the elf magic and everything that went along with it. Even so, there wasn’t much dramatic tension. There were several storylines that had some conflict, but it never seemed to go anywhere. I hope that’s because there will be more stories set in this world.

My favorite part was the surprise at the end which brought the story full-circle and utterly delighted me. I found a number of elements to be fresh takes on classic fairy tale Christmas magic, which was fun and enjoyable.

This is a lovely book to accompany hot cocoa and a plate of cookies.

This is my first time reading Kenzie Cade. I love Christmas stories. Add a little magic and some pretty powerful chemistry between the two male characters and you have a short story that will give you a sweet dose of Christmas Cheer!
I found the cover didn’t really suit the story. I would expect something like that on a children’s story, not a M/M Romance. I found that we were given a ton of story at the beginning and then the intimacy and a quick ending. Its a short, sweet story where you shut your brain off and don’t wonder about stuff that was  kind of left in the air.

Synopsis

Mischa knew his brothers were up to something. He didn’t know it would lead him to Donovan Holloway and change his carefree lifestyle forever.

Donovan Holloway, advertising executive, newly made vice president of the company where he’s worked for twenty years, grew up in a free love hippie commune, taking care of the parents who should have been taking care of him. He’s worked hard to put himself through school and achieve the American dream. All he’s ever wanted was a normal family life—house in the suburbs, two cars, two kids, a shaggy dog. A family to come home to—to care for, and to care for him.

Mischa Blake is the green eyed, liberally-pierced, black-haired, Mohawk-wearing spoiled youngest son of a Hollywood producer and his actress wife. Mischa has made a terrible mistake. In a fit of childish pique, he’s accepted a dare from his older brothers. The dare? Live on his own, supporting himself completely for a year without accessing his trust fund. No problem. Except Mischa has never worked a day in his life, hasn’t finished college, and has absolutely no skills that he can bring to the table.

So when he sees Donovan’s ad for a housekeeper/gardener, he has nothing to lose by applying, because really…how hard can it be?

I haven’t read this author before and I was mildly entertained but also mildly irritated with the attitude of some of the characters. They didn’t seem to have patience or understanding about being 20 and having access to a trust fund.

I was ok with the length. Lots of quick stuff happens. There was some fun times, some hot times and some laughs.

An ok read.

This book was really short and had so much potential. I really liked the idea and the story actually wasn’t bad. I just didn’t feel a connection between Donovan and Mischa. I could feel the connection between Mischa and his brothers but nothing when it came to Donovan. I couldn’t even feel a connection to Donovan, he did nothing for me. I loved Mischa, his brothers and then the twins but I wanted to feel the passion between Mischa and Donovan and didn’t. Then the ending where Donovan and Mischa make an announcement totally threw me off, I wasn’t expecting it at all, maybe it was because I didn’t feel the connection or something but it just seemed odd.

Excerpt

Donovan Holloway flung the heavy oak front door of his new dream home open with a thud. He peered out at the extremely tardy final interviewee for the position of housekeeper and groaned inwardly. The person on the other side of the door was not the one he’d been expecting.

“Yes?” He didn’t have time for neighborhood boys selling magazines, cookies, or candy bars, even if they were sexy as hell. The person at the door might, might, have been seventeen. He should just shut the door and hope the kid went away. On second glance, shutting the door on temptation incarnate seemed like a damn good idea.

Wearing a tight black T-shirt, black skinny jeans, and black skate shoes, his visitor carried a skateboard under one arm and a black backpack hung off the other. His head was shaved on both sides leaving a strip down the center that was ink-black and, despite the rain, stood in four-inch porcupine spikes. He was pale, eyes red-rimmed, and literally drenched. Damn. That wet look sure was effective. Pervert! He snarled at himself. Note to self— get out of the office and get laid this weekend.

Donovan stepped back, prepared to slam the door, but something sad in those green eyes gave him pause. “Hey, are you all right? Do you need help?” He scanned the quiet neighborhood, looking for a reason the kid might be knocking on his door, envisioning gangs of hoodlums stalking the as yet silent boy through upscale neighborhoods.

He shuddered and then swallowed audibly before speaking. “I’m Mischa Blake.”

Donovan stared uncomprehending.

“Mikhail?” Deep green eyes stared at Donovan expectantly. When no response was forthcoming, he added, “Michael? Blake? I have an interview?”

Donovan shoved his hand into the pocket of his trousers and pulled out a pink phone slip from his secretary. M. Blake was his sixth scheduled interview for the position of housekeeper/cook/gardener.

The first applicant, a beady-eyed battle-axe, had taken one look around his yard and at the clutter in his house yet to be unpacked and announced that she most emphatically did not work for pigs.

He knew the place was a mess. He’d found his ranch style house on the market at the right price and decided to celebrate his recent promotion to vice president of the advertising agency where he’d worked for the past twenty years by moving out of the tiny apartment he’d lived in for years and into a real home. It was the house he’d imagined so often as a kid, boasting a large yard, open floor plan, huge kitchen, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, gorgeous picture windows, and vaulted ceilings.

Of course, in his childhood fantasies, the house had been occupied by him, and a beautiful wife—a golden-haired, blue-eyed, petite Florence Henderson look-alike—and a bevy of beautiful, intelligent children. He’d suffered a minor setback at seventeen when he discovered he was gay, but after due consideration, he’d replaced Florence with Phillip Henderson and been instantly back in business.

The housekeeping candidate hadn’t cared about his dream-turned-nightmare. She’d flounced out before he could even give her the job description. The second applicant had sat sipping coffee in his office, murmuring noncommittally in response to his job description for several moments. He nurtured high hopes for the middle-aged lady, until she abruptly interrupted him to demand, “Are you one of them? Because I’m looking at you, and I’m guessing, Myrtle, he’s one of them. You’re a gay man, aren’t He’d sat in stunned silence, mouth hanging open a bit too long as she began to spout fire and brimstone and call upon God to wreak his vengeance on all sodomites. She’d still been spewing vitriol as he clasped her elbow and hustled her the few feet from his home office to the front door and out onto the sidewalk.

“I’m looking for someone to cook a few meals and scrub the toilets, not validate my existence!” he called after her as he slammed the door.

The third applicant hadn’t spoken a word of English, and since he had zero chance of learning to speak Hmong, he’d nodded, shaken his head and hustled her out the door as quickly as he could as well. The fourth applicant had been a no-show. It was depressing. He’d really screwed up his chances of fulfilling his lifelong dream by purchasing the house before he’d found the Phillip Henderson to manage

Hiring a housekeeper to manage his home life much as his secretary managed his business life was a brilliant option. The housekeeper could handle the dream house that had become a nightmare, and he could concentrate on finding that Phillip Henderson after he got his work life sorted out again.

Instead, the only candidate he would even consider hiring had been the fifth. She’d been a perfectly wonderful grandmotherly type who’d labeled him adorable and patted him on the cheek like he was a six-year-old boy instead of a forty-year-old businessman. He’d fallen more than a little in love with her right at the moment her soft wrinkled hand patted his cheek so sweetly. Unfortunately, she looked to be about ninety-six, and delicate—as though her spun sugar white hair would melt in the rain.  He’d have felt guilty as hell asking her to clean up after him. He’d kept her number, just in case he could come up with a reason to invite her back over after his house was in order. She’d be the perfect grandmother figure for the children he had yet to adopt. Phillip Henderson, where are you?

Sighing, he looked up from the scrap of paper. “You’re applying to be my housekeeper?”

This was such a good book!  This is not super long book but what you get was perfect!  I can say that I loved Nash and Jayden’s characters. Them together, I could feel how good they are for each other.  You get a little bit of angst with this book which is okay because the sweetness you get from these two more then makes up for it.  Yes Nash is young and at first you feel like he might not be mature enough to handle a relationship like this. By the end of the book I did not feel like that at all anymore, Nash is so mature for his age and you see that has you progress through this book.  The way the author wrote these two characters and this story grabbed me from the start and I could not put it down.  I would definitely recommend this book!

This book started off strong and stayed that way right to the end. The characters were enjoyable and the plot moved at a steady pace, keeping me turning pages to find out what would happen next. The sexual tension between the two main characters, and their constant attempts to ignore it, caused some entertaining moments that left me shaking my head at them. Well developed, beautifully written and a perfect mix of irritating tension, witty humor and snarky comments I would recommend it to any who enjoys M/M romance.

First time reading this author and it was quite enjoyable!

Even though I don’t usually read a story with young-ish characters, the synopsis pulled me and I was pleasantly pleased with the story.

There are some realistic, heartbreaking moments and I wanted to reach into the pages and HUG Nash.
Jay and Nash were sweet and sexy and intense together. The story evolves around a wedding and I love wedding stories!! The author gives us a good mix of happy stuff and real life stuff going on. And the intimacy between Nash and Jay was perfect. I love details!!! Good, smutty details. RAWR

It is To Be Continued….. if the author does write more about this couple, I will read it!!!

Jayden (Jay) and Nash are quite the couple.  I really liked how DeRicci started out with them developing their relationship.
There was some trauma in Nash’s past and I really enjoyed how Jay’s friend, Tim and his partner Bill, who also happens to be Nash’s cousin were so quick to protect Nash.  It seems that Jay is the real player.
I actually really enjoyed how Jay and Nash interacted.  They were shy, but also really sweet.  And, while I was a little flummoxed by Jay’s family reaction, I really, really loved how Jay handled it.
Despite the issues that Nash had, Jay and Nash’s relationship developed in to a true relationship.  I think that because they were allowed to be together in a non-pressured situation, Nash was able to relax more and learn to be OK with himself.
I do wish that at the end of the book there was no longer the insecurities, but we shall see what the next installment brings.

FourStarsI have read many books by this author and although I enjoyed this one it did at times seemed that the characters were almost forcing themselves to feel what the author wanted them to. It did not seem to flow together like her other books I’ve read. However, I did like the story line and can’t wait to read the next installment.  I definitely fell in love with Nash. It was clear that he was very young and the author was able to portray that in the book. I have read other books with young characters but they seem to come across as much older.

I thought the plot of the story was cute.  Taking someone to a wedding for show.  But the idea that they fell in love so quickly not even knowing each other before, was a little too unrealistic, cute, but not realistic.

Nash was abused by his father and needed a lot of self esteem. Jay was trying to help him with that.  That made for a great story. I did love how the author gave you a bit of the future for them and has you wondering what happens next for these guys.

Definitely would like to read the next installment.

I enjoyed reading most of this book. The setting was ideal for a new romance. The two main characters complimented each other, both having different strengths, both coming from different backgrounds, one totally inexperienced the other assured and confident. Together they made a fantastic couple.
The author ensured their growing feelings for each other were believable and the plot kept the reader totally engrossed and in tune with this beautiful love story.
My only criticism was towards the end of the novel. By now the author had established  Nash has having grown in both confidence and self assurance, Jayden had for the first time fallen in love, so why revert  Nash back to such immaturity and Jayden to such insecurity and change, what was a  beautifully written romance to almost an adolescent dating scene?

Like the title suggests, the storys plot is about someone getting a boyfriend for the weekend and that someone was 26 yr old Jayden Sindler. He needed a date to his sister’s wedding to fend off unwanted pursuers and luckily for him, he’s introduced to 19 yr old Nash Vargas, who happened to need a small vacation after getting away from his abusive father.
I loved the idea of the story, in fact, I have a weakness for it. It was obvious that Jay and Nash are gonna end up together, cause come on …ROMANCE. It’s about their journey to getting there.
Nash was sweet, cute and needy. He needed someone to be his knight, but I didn’t feel like it should have been Jay. Jay was nice, but I couldn’t get into him. The author wrote that they’re attracted to each other, but other then stating that they like each others looks, I wasn’t buying it. That was the problem for me. I gave the story 3 stars for that.
Otherwise it was an okay read. If you like angst, sweet moments and good smexy scenes, this may be for you.
I know I started reading with too much excited expectation, so someday I’ll reread this story again. It looks like there will be a second book. I’ll read it.

I have read several books about people pretending to be in a relationship for whatever reason and enjoyed them so I was excited to read this book. At times it seemed rushed and I didn’t feel the connection between the characters. I loved how Jayden stood firm with his family when it came to Nash but I just didn’t feel the chemistry between those two. I wanted too, I really did. I honestly felt more connection with Nash and the guy he met at the wedding reception. The concept was good, but just didn’t work out for me.

I enjoyed this more than I should have.  I know the story has been done before.  I know it was a mess of implausible meeting the improbable – but I really liked both Nash and Jayden.

On the run from an abusive father, nineteen year old Nash agrees to go with his cousin’s friend to his sister’s wedding in Florida.  Twenty-six year old Jayden promises not to touch the younger man – but they find themselves wildly attracted to each other.

Part tourist advert for Florida and part toothache inducing romance, this is a happy, easy read.  If you like pretty boys in eyeliner and handsome men in tuxedos and you don’t mind a little wedding satin and tule – you’ll probably enjoy this book.

I caught several references to 80s/90s Julia Roberts romances which is about the speed and depth of this story.  Enjoy it in the bath with a very large glass of wine.
