While I really loved the way this author wrote this time period. I have to be honest and say so much of this book honestly just dragged for me.

Heath falls for Art who owns a speakeasy. Well this is where I am going to say I was not a fan of Heaths character at all. For some reason he just annoyed me so much! There was a lot of up and downs between these two with what time period they were in and how the their relationship was not accepted at all, so they had to hide it.

There was some sweetness in this book between these two men along with angst. I did love the authors pretense of this story and the way she portrayed the characters in this time period. I was just not a huge fan of one of the MC’s and there were parts of this book that sadly just dragged for me…

So I will leave this review with.. I am sad to say this book was just not for me!

Excerpt

Heath swallows, playing over an idea that had formed shakily in his head after he saw Frankie, since Art walked through that door and possibly longer without him being fully conscious of it.

“Maybe it’s time I was honest. Tell them that I don’t want to marry Ginny or work with my father. Let the pieces fall where they may.”

“You would do that?”

“If it meant being with you, I would do anything.” Heath sits up and the sheets fall to pool around his waist. “I know what I want, now. And it’s you and whatever a future with you brings.”

TWO 5 and 4.5 Star Reviews for Bondage Rescue (Kiss of Leather, #3) by Morticia Knight #M/M #BDSM @MorticiaKnight

28523417

Title: Bondage Rescue (Kiss of Leather, #3)
Author Name & Publisher: Morticia Knight (Pride Publishing)
Publication Date & Length: February 16th 2016- 187 pages

Synopsis

Kyle’s best friend Marshall resurfaces and he’s in a lot of trouble. Can the men at Kiss of Leather convince a former Dom to take on the mouthy sub?

Master Derek and his new sub Corey have signed a contract and enjoy their first scene together. The love between them is strong and Derek is as protective of his boy as ever. The only thing left that would make their world perfect would be to bring Corey’s ex-Dom and abuser to justice.

The legal firm that represents Kiss of Leather is charged with hiring a private investigator to flush out the man who orchestrated Corey’s gang rape. Stone Manning is hesitant to take the job, though. He was once wrongly accused in the death of a sub and swore never to enter a BDSM club again. But he owes attorney Glen Sharp his life after the lawyer got him acquitted.

Their meeting is disrupted when Kyle’s missing friend Marshall calls for help. Master Josh promises to help the mouthy Marshall get back on his feet under one condition—Marshall must sign a six month D/s contract as a full-time sub and prove he can fully submit to a man as well as learn to respect those around him.

Stone Manning suddenly finds himself charged with taming the brattiest sub ever. In truth, the bigger the brat, the more his heart races with excitement. Marshall promises to be just the type of challenge to inspire Stone to be a Master again. As Stone learns more about him, he sees the pain that Marshall has always tried to numb with drugs and alcohol. Stone also sees a man he could love—if he can ever reach him.

In the meantime, Stone and his investigative partner, Chuck, continue to search for Corey’s attacker. The abusive Dom appears to have gone underground. But what they don’t realize is that the closer they get to their prey, the more dangerous he becomes.

Reader Advisory: This book contains references to drug and alcohol abuse.

You can read this as a standalone but if you read the series in order it gives you backstory and gives you the full picture. I just love bratty subs and Marshall sure is bratty! We get to see several characters from previous books; in fact this book is partly about finding Corey’s attacker from a previous book. I love Stone and Marshall; they are so good together, even if it was a rocky start. This series is so good, I can’t wait for the next book and hopefully someday we might even see Stone’s partner at his PI firm in a book

This book was such a awesome addition to this series!

Kyle’s best friend Marshall resurfaces and is in a lot of trouble. Will Master Derek take on a mouthy sub.

To start of this review I have to say I loved these two men together. Marshall and his snarkiness and Derek and his calmness and his protectiveness.

There was steam in this book and action too when the Dom’s must save two of their Subs. You get to see a lot of the characters in this from the previous books in this series, which I loved!
I loved how this author wrote this story and these characters in this book! The way these men were together was just so sweet and beautiful especially how Derek was there for Marshall through everything and would not let Marshall push him away.

So I will leave this review with… I 100% loved this book and would recommend this series!

Kara

FourandHalfStars

I want to begin by saying that I love this series and this book didn’t disappoint.  Knight was able to write two very different characters who need each other for balance.

Marshall is in need of help – he is struggling in his life and needs some direction.  What he doesn’t know and couldn’t know is that he will help Stone just as much as Stone will help him.  Marshall has a very sarcastic, snarky demeanor and that’s what I love most about him.  And, while he never fully loses that personality, it does diminish a little throughout the story, which I was kind of sad about.  I would want his personality to shine through -it is what makes him so lovable.

Then you have the serious Stone.  Once a sought after Dom, wrongfully accused of harming a sub, he was never quite able to put himself back out there with another sub.  I hated that he had gone through that and wished that I had known more about the back story.  However, what he does to help both Marshall and Corey is so far beyond the realm of what I thought – I loved him in this story.  He was always calm, never angry and so very patient with Marshall.

The couple was outstanding in their patience with each other.  I liked that it was not an insta-love story – it built and built until finally, they developed a real relationship.

I love this series and can’t wait for more!

This world the author created in this book was amazing!

The whole different take on vampires, I thought it was really awesome! This was a very short story so I do not want to go to much into it and accidently spoil anything.

I loved the characters in this book and the way this author wrote this story. You just start getting to know Khaz and Noah which was awesome but at the same time sad because you can not help wanting to know more about them. There was a steam in this book and what the vampires are like in this world. After reading this I can not wait to read the next book in this series!

So I will leave this review with… I loved this Novella and would definitely recommend it!

This was an interesting story that plays off what would happen if humans weren’t in control anymore.
Although I connected to both characters and really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and evolve as the story progressed, I felt like at times I just didn’t understand what was going on. Not to mention the ending. I felt like we were sort of left hanging on this ledge and wouldn’t be getting any answers or solution to the situation, which kind of sucked.
All in all though, it was a good story that I would recommend.

This was another good book, going to be a great series, by Mortica Knight. This story was about a young man escaping his father’s brutality and finding his true love. I loved how Sam and Aaron met. I also loved the journey that they took together to find themselves.

I felt Aaron was a very caring man but yet not sure where he fit in his sexual life.  Sam on the other was very sweet, very trusting of Aaron while he was teaching Sam how to behave. My favorite part was when Aaron and Saul took on Sam’s father.

This was a good start to the series can’t wait to read more.

In Book 1 of the series, the setting is in 1920’s. It’s the story of a man, a wealthy painter by the name of Aaron Rubenstein and how he found his sub/forever love in Sam, a naive 18 year old boy. From the start you feel really bad for Aaron. He’s gay, knows it, loves certain games, yet he hates himself. Probably because most of the guys he “plays” with don’t understand him.
Then he meets Sam in a bathing house. Sam ran away from home cause his rich father wants him to marry, but Sam is gay. He’s so sheltered though, that he doesn’t know a thing about gay sex. Thankfully he meets Aaron, who adores him. These two are made to be together and they’re so sweet. Too sweet…lol. Aaron and Sam both cried way too much. I liked them enough though to give this book a 4 instead of my first choice of 3 stars. It was interesting reading about a romance set in the 1920’s.
If you wanna read something extra sweet, a healing story, this book is for you.
Oh and don’t be fooled by the “Road Club”. Lol This isn’t an MC story folks. Haha

This book was hard for me to get through at times. I found myself skimming at times but at other times so into the story I didn’t want to put it down. I had to keep reminding myself that it was set in the 1920’s for one thing. LOL. I loved how sweet and innocent Sam was but at times I also got frustrated with his nativity.  I wanted to think Aaron was a dirty old bird, but I couldn’t help but like him, I loved his patience with Sam. This ended up being a beautiful story of love and friendship and I really hope we get to see these two again in the rest of the series.

This book starts of with Sam who is naïve and young in a new city after escaping his brutal father.
He meets Aaron and there is a instant attraction between these two men.I loved how protective and caring Aaron was of Sam. Then there was Sam who was just so sweet!

They both fit so well together and you could feel the love these two men have for one another.

I thought the author did such a awesome job with the time period in this book! She pulled you in from the start of this story and I could not put this book down once I started it.

There was steam in this book and two men who grow closer together in their Dom/Sub relationship. The way that Aaron was so patient with Sam while teaching him everything was just so sweet!

Synopsis

Screenwriter Noah Ashley has a few four-letter words for his agent when she suggests he improve his script by shadowing a PI. Still, because he’s an artist dedicated to his craft and she knows where the bodies are buried, he agrees. Then he spends a little time with the gorgeous PI, and suddenly it seems like a really good plan. The PI doesn’t seem to entirely love the idea, but Noah has never been afraid to go after what he wants.

PI Drew Rodriguez is used to people depending on him. He’s the classic rock for his family. Responsible. Dependable. The classic rock would never succumb to the borderline sleazy temptation of friends with benefits, no matter how sexy that temptation is. Drew is looking for something enduring.

Despite Drew’s misgivings, it’s not long before they’ve got all the requisites for friends with benefits going. Friendly, good conversation? Check. Fun times in and out of bed? Check. Hot, electrolyte-sapping sex? Double check. Falling in love? Yeah. About that….

Screenwriter Noah shadows PI Drew to help him write his next script. Well the instant these two men meet there is a attraction between them that Drew tries to fight as much as he can… But eventually he gives in and when he does, lets just say it was so incredible hot!

I thought this author did such a amazing job with the characters in this book and the story. The banter between these two men was hilarious and the way they were together was just so sweet. Drew has a lot going on with his family besides his work so when he feels that draw to Noah he fights it but as they start getting closer as the story progresses there is just no way he can fight it anymore.

This book was so sweet and beautiful!

Now this book is about Trevor who we meet in the first book in this series. Trevor has no contact with his family now after coming out so he is very alone. He agrees to go on a reality music show for the next big boy band. That is where he meets Jalen and lets just say they don’t exactly hit it off at first but once they do it was just so sweet!

There was some steam in this book along with the sweet too. I loved the way this author wrote this story and these characters. Between the way you could feel how much these two men care for each other, even though it did take them awhile to get there and the way they are there for each other I have to say this book was just so beautiful!

I really do not want to give away any spoilers so I will leave this review with… I 100% loved this book and would definitely recommend this series!

Phillip used to laugh a lot, back when his friends called him Pip. However the good deed that left him hospitalized not only marred his body, it stripped him of his good humor too. Donating his vintage clothing to a charity shop should have been the final act in a year-long campaign to sever the links with the man Pip used to be, but the stranger on his doorstep awakens feelings in Pip that he hasn’t experienced since the incident that left him angry at the world and reliant on the cold metal of the hideous hospital-issue crutch.

Colby forces his way into Pip’s life, picking at the scab of his past. Colby isn’t interested in Pip’s money or his expensive address. He has only one goal: to make Pip smile again. I really liked this story.  It was drawn out, but not too much and you really got to see the characters come out of their shells and develop.

I loved how Colby did not give up on Pip and was sneaky, snarky, funny, loving and compassionate to Pip, even if it did involve stealing and fibbing.  Colby is a large man and despite his looks, he has found that many people are not after his kind nature or mind, but after what he can do for them.  I think it was nice of him to find someone who not only wanted nothing to do with him in the beginning, but then, once Pip saw Colby for who he really was, opened Colby up to a different world of love and kindness.

The issues that Pip have are deeply embedded.  Not only is he wallowing in self pity, he does so by pushing everyone away and then wallows in his solitude.  He was not my favorite character to start off with – however, I did like his snarky attitude and the fact that he was not scared of Colby.

The two of them together – watching Pip come out of his shell and Colby learn to respect Pip, but do so in a way that also pushed his boundaries was great to read.

Both were given a new lease on life and it was a sweet, not a lot of drama story.

This was a sweet story about Pip, who had a bad accident that made him a complete shut in. He used to be full of life and laughter, but no more. But then Colby comes into his life like a rainbow after a storm.
Colby was so sweet and patient with Pip. In real life, Colby would probably be in jail for being too stalkerish, lmao, but in this book it was sweet, so I’ll ignore that. Haha. Colby made Pip come out his shell and realize that his world wasn’t over just because he had that accident. He could still wear the old vintage suits he loved to wear, still be that same man who loved to have his friends surround him. I liked this couple together and was hoping for more of them.
Maybe a part 2? I want Pip to meet Colby’s family. I want both their worlds to mesh and see how they handle it. It felt like book one was a set up for a book 2, or maybe that’s my wishful thinking. lol

Phillip used to be a completely different person until something painful happens to him and causes him to change… Colby is attracted to Pip and tries to bring him back to what he was before. Will he be able to?

I want to start of this review by saying I thought this two men together was just so sweet! Colby was such a strong character and the way he was with Pip was so sweet! Pip has gone through a lot and the way he slowly starts to open up more with Colby was awesome!

Excerpt

Then he appeared from the tree line, a lithe, pale creature of the Finnish goddess Mielikki’s woods if ever I had seen one. Yay for that semester of world mythology back in college finally paying off. Declan wore nothing but a scrap of linen tied around his lean waist and a camera around his neck. I swallowed and stepped down off the porch, anxious to get closer to him. He waited patiently for me. As I drew closer, I could hear him humming. A smile tweaked my lips.

It was Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

“You look like you have too much on,” Declan announced when I stood in front of him. I glanced down at my attire. Gym shorts, a T-shirt, and sneakers sans socks. “How would you feel about doing this nude?” My sight knifed back from my clothes to my guide into the Twilight Zone.

“You’re not naked,” I pointed out once I could speak around the knot of desire clogging my throat.

“I usually am, but I figured you’d be far too uptight to not have clothes on, so, I fashioned a makeshift chiton to cover my goodies.”

“Okay. Yes, I’m not comfortable with our goodies hanging out.” He glanced up at the fat moon over our heads, then sighed dramatically. “I can do no shirt and no shoes, however.”

Declan’s gaze returned to me from Madame Luna. He made a sort of cooing sound then rose to his tiny toes to press his lips to mine. It was a soft peck, our mouths touching for a mere second, but it did things to my perceptions of who Steven Ramsey is that I still cannot fully explain.

“I think I’d like to see you without a shirt,” he whispered over my lips.

“What are you doing?” I croaked. He shrugged a shoulder, then dropped back down to stand flat-footed. “Stop it, okay? I’m old enough to be your father.”

He smiled then spun around, his bare back gleaming pure white. I wanted to touch his skin, trace the knobs of his spine with my tongue. This whole thing was pure insanity, yet I hurried to strip off my old T-shirt and kick off my sneakers. Declan glanced over his shoulder, smiled again, and then rushed off into the night, the coquette. I followed because what else could I do?

Not traipsing after the kid was impossible. The grass was cool and wet under my bare soles. The high whine of a mosquito zipped past my ear. I would be nothing but a massive bug bite in the morning. I walked behind Declan, swatting at the air, hoping I didn’t step on something that would require stitches or a tetanus shot. We stepped into the woods. I debated going back for my shoes.

“We have to be as silent as possible,” Declan, standing on my right, whispered.

“Shoes are quiet,” I replied, my hand resting on the scraggy bark of an old pine.

“Shoes don’t allow you to touch the earth.”

“They also don’t allow thorns to penetrate your flesh,” I parried. My guide grunted in consternation then set off once again. A million questions bounced around my head as I tenderly placed one foot down then the other. What kind of camera did he use? Was there a special ethereal film for capturing fey? Did I need therapy? Did I just step on a slug?

We walked deeper into the woods. The farther we traveled, the more I wanted to speak up or at least scoff. I was working on a good zinger when I ran into Declan’s bare back. He threw up a hand to silence me. My body tightened from a weird combination of fear and desire. The kid felt wonderful pressed against my chest, his clammy skin resting against mine. I peered over his head, my hand coming to rest on his left hip. Declan leaned back into me just the slightest bit.

My cock began to swell. My eyelids drifted down as he wiggled enticingly closer still.

“Look at the hazy ring around the moon,” Declan whispered. My fingers dug into his bony hip. I opened my eyes and looked up. We were on the edge of a small glen. He lifted up his camera and snapped several images as I stared at the milky white fingers of magic tickling the moon. “Now look at the ground.” I did. There, in the center of the small glen, was a small, perfectly circular ring of mushrooms perhaps ten feet wide. “That’s known as a fairy ring.”

“Huh,” I grunted, my body trying desperately to take over the show. Declan had to feel my erection resting against his pert ass. He seemed perfectly as ease with a hard dick between his buttocks. I, on the other hand, was slowly going mad. I longed to lower my mouth to his neck and lick the sweat from his skin. I also wanted to run away screaming to the world that I was not a faggot, but was I? It certainly looked it. Declan lowered his camera and took a few shots of the white mushrooms.

“I’ve heard tales of the fey blessing those who stand in a fairy ring under a full moon. Would you like to go stand in the ring, Steven?” he asked. I nodded. He slid out of my grasp and reached back to find my hand. His fingers were thinner than mine. He pulled me into the glen. I glanced up, then back. “Are you afraid that someone will see us cuddling in the fairy ring?”

“At the moment,” I stepped carefully over several large mushrooms,” I’m afraid of everything, mostly you.”

THREE 5 and 4 Stars for Spook Squad (PsyCop #7) by Jordan Castillo Price #MM #Paranormal

1.5

Title: Spook Squad (PsyCop #7)
Author Name: Jordan Castillo Price
Publication Date & Length: August 30, 2013 – 321 pgs

Synopsis

Everyone enjoys peace and tranquility, and Victor Bayne is no exception. He goes to great lengths to maintain a harmonious home with his partner, Jacob. Although the cannery is huge, it’s grown difficult to avoid the elephant in the room…the elephant with the letters FPMP scrawled on its hide.

Once Jacob surrendered his PsyCop badge, he infiltrated the Federal Psychic Monitoring Program. In his typical restrained fashion, he hasn’t been sharing much about what he actually does behind its vigilantly guarded doors. And true to form, Vic hasn’t asked. In fact, he would prefer not to think about the FPMP at all, since he’s owed Director Dreyfuss an exorcism since their private flight to PsyTrain.

While Vic has successfully avoided FPMP entanglement for several months, now his debt has finally come due.

This story helped me love the series again.  While the previous book was less than my favorite, this one was great!  I loved the new changes that the characters had to wade through, the mystery was ever present and with the new powers they all are facing, each will have to rely on people they normally would not rely on.
Dr. Chance’s presence was great!  I loved what she gave to the story.  It was with this aspect of the mystery that I was most taken by.  Then you have the secrecy of Con – can he really be trusted or is he just using Vic?
Then you have the introduction of Con and his people – more so than in the previous story and I liked that new characters were introduced.
Finally, you have more in the way of seeing Crash’s perspective on life and his issues come more to light – Lisa is still a slight conundrum, as I don’t know if she’s really invested in her friendship with Vic or is that just within her comfort zone?
There were a lot of questions that came through for me during this story – but I can’t wait to see where everything shakes out.

FiveStarsThis book was such a awesome addition to this series!

With this book we get more of Victor which I loved and of course his inner monologue which was at times so funny but also helped me learn more about him too.

Then there was Jacob which was good also, I have to admit I love his character too. He is in a different job now so while trying to work on a case he is also trying to protect Victor from those who would do him harm.
There was a lot of action in this book and some steam which was so very hot! I have to say I love the way this author writes the steamy scenes in this series. There always so very hot!
You see a lot of the characters from the previous books in this series too which was also very good.
There was just so much going on in this book between Victor trying to exercise a ghost that is evil and trying to figure out who around himself he could really trust. I have to say this has been one of my favorite M/M series! Every book in this series has been so good and has had me on the edge of my seat hoping for the best for these characters. Also Victor and Jacob can I just say how much I really love them together and how I love the way this author wrote these characters.

So I will leave this review with I really loved this book and I hope this is not the last we will see of Victor and Jacob! 🙂

I would 100% recommend this series!

Another awesome and twisted book by Jordan Castillo Price. There were a lot of unpredictable surprised that kept me flying through the pages of this book. More of my two favorite men doing their thing.
I really loved how we learned more about all the characters we’ve met in all of the previous books. It was a perfect conclusion to the series, even if I was sad to see it come.
All the previous question were so perfectly answered and closed the series in such a nice way that it left me wanting more.
I’ll still say this is absolutely my favorite series with my favorite characters.

4 Spooky Stars!
I feel like I want to say I am verklempt over this book. Siiigh.
When I have finished the previous books I am usually jubilant, not Sound of Music singing in the hills jubilant, more of the pervy jubilant. Like I got a glimpse into a sacred, intense relationship that made all my bits siiiiiing. This story, not so much. Not that I am disappointed but just kind of a bit, sort of… let down. I still love Jordan Castillo Price, don’t get me wrong. But I felt a lot of parts dragged and I felt a bit left out of Vic and Jacob’s relationship. I guess the first book kind of exploded my senses when it came to this relationship and I have pretty much gotten a good dose of their intensity (or the equivalency in word porn to satisfy my appetite for this sexy duo).
I still think Jordan Castillo Price possesses an imagination that is beyond impressive. The storyline that she enraptures us with is intricate and intriguing and continually growing. This paranormal world is envious and one you sometimes wish you were part of, and then other times you are very glad you aren’t in their world!!!! haha
I would read more in this series!!! I hope we get more in this series!!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads.
