This book in my opinion is a powerful story That is full of regret for past mistakes, fear for the future, acceptance of the bad that has happened, and finally hope for the future.

Tom is viciously attacked outside of a gay club. So much so that it changes his life forever. In some good ways and in some bad ways. Because of the attack Tom is now paralyzed from the waist down. He has to learn how to cope with the life changing events. And the person in charge of helping him with his recovery is Eric.

Tom and Eric both become friends. There is a level of attraction between the two but neither act on it because Tom who has a boyfriend.

That changes several months after Tom is finally released from the hospital and rehab. Tom and Adrian break up and Eric tracks down Tom again. From that point the two grow closer but there are still secrets that neither have shared with the other and those secrets will either tear them apart or will help them to grow closer. The question is which will they chose???

This book is a powerful book because it is an example of how bad things can turn out when bullies go too far. It also shows that when someone is strong not only mentally but physically they can move past a disability and still live a normal life just like everyone else.

I truly enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading more by Noah Willoughby in the future.

This book was intense and moving and the author did an excellent job of bring together the perfect amount of emotion and feeling. This was a book about learning to live again (not just because of a disability) but also a book about rediscovery. This author was able to do this in spades. I had an immediate connection with Tom but it took me a while to warm up to Eric, but once I did there was no going back. The characterization in this book was excellent and I was immediately drawn into the story and did not want to put it down. Excellent job!!

**AUDIOBOOK REVIEW**
I have to say that while I really enjoyed the two men and the way their story came together, I didn’t particularly like how much of the Taylor’s story we got. I understand that it was necessary, but sometimes I just couldn’t wait for their part of the story to be over so we could get to our boys.. well, the men they’d grown into.
I loved that we’d seen these boys together in the previous books and as they grew up and then we got to follow along as they got their happy ending. This was a nice conclusion to the series as we got to see everything all wrapped up with a pretty bow and everyone was happy.
I can say that I am a fan of Ariel Tachna after reading this series. She has such a wonderful way of writing romance that also has a hefty dose of reality and work thrown in. The characters are all different and have their own issues to deal with and they do so in their own unique way.
The narrator did an EXCELLENT job with the book and I know I will be looking for more books narrated by William James in the future.

FourandHalfStarsKiss Me, Cowboy by Carol Lynne – 4 Stars

This was a sweet story about two men who were best friends all their life who fell in love. Then Jesse left and Eli stayed to help his family after the death of Eli’s father. I almost thought the author wasn’t going to give these two men their HEA but she did. I immediately had a connection with Eli and Jesse and felt for them both in the struggle they dealt with to be together. A great story that centered on a rodeo event named The American Royal.

New Vocation by T.A. Chase – 4.5 Stars

I absolutely loved this story, but that didn’t surprise me as it was written by a favorite author of mine. T.A. Chase writes wonderful story that are well thought out and exciting. I immediately fell in love with Layne and Carl. It was also great to see Les and Randy make a cameo appearance.

Stallions and Ice by Stephani Hecht – 4 Stars

This was another great story in this anthology and I really loved Brandon and Ethan. I would consider this a HFN story as it never really had a full ending (which is why I only gave it 4 stars). But I loved how the author was able to bring two men together from two completely different backgrounds, especially when one of the characters is a hockey player (GO Red Wings). This author just hits the right spot in my reading about hockey players. No one does it better then Ms. Hecht whether its hockey or first responders.

Playing with Fire by Jambrea Jo Jones – 4 Stars

This story was another great one by a new author for me. This author took a different approach and had this two men facing off in the kitchen not the rodeo circuit but it was still centered on the America Royal. I loved how the author brought these two men back together and the whole story surrounding the epic cook off. Great job!

Resuscitating Love by Devon Rhodes – 4 Stars

This wasn’t a story about new love but about reviving a love of established partners.  This was a great ending in a great series of stories about the American Royal rodeo event. I really love reading s these types of stories as it really just hit me start in the heart. I love reading about how two men are able to overcome their problems and get back on track.

Overall this was an excellent anthology and would recommend it to all my friends.

And the story continues on with Damien, James and Guard. I love these threemen! Is the relationship salvageable? Do they make amends and end up a trio again? I need to know!

Fantasy one features Cameron, an ex-cowboy who is losing his sight, and Xander, the owner of a small bookstore. When Cameron was no longer able to see to work on his horse ranch with his partner and lover, he sold out to hid ex and purchased a one-way ticket to fulfill his fantasy on the island. He had no desire to ever go back to civilization. Xander is in awe at the fact that Cameron has never been informed of today’s modern conveniences available to the visually impaired. And when Xander finds out what Cameron’s plans are at the end of their 5 days together, he has no intentions of allowing him to go through them. Vowing to give Cameron the life he deserves.

Fantasy two is about Ben and Tip. Ben is an author of Thriller novels and Tip takes on odd jobs here and there and also works for the guys from the island a couple times a year to pay his bills. Ben’s fantasy is to live out some of the situations he writes about in his books. One of those situations is a real life kidnapping. Little does he know how terrifying this can be when you are actually living it. Tip isn’t sure how long he can keep up the charade. His “captive” seems genuinely terrified and if he doesn’t safeword and end this whole scene then Tip will.

In fantasy three we have Leo, a Dominant in the BDSM world. And David also a Dominant in the BDSM world. David has been in love with Leo for years. When he was asked to come to the island and be Leo’s Dom for 5 days to fulfill Leo’s fantasy, he jumped at the chance. Leo wants to have a better understanding of a submissive’s point of view. His fantasy is to be topped for 5 days so he can be a better Dom. What he isn’t expecting is to be topped by a man he knows, and who is also almost 10 years younger than he is. But what really shocks him is the relationship that begins between them in just a short time.

I loved all three of these fantasies! This book is definitely better than the first. The men in the fantasies all seemed to connect better. What I’m really hoping for is the conclusion to the relationship between our three owners.

This was another great book by Sean Michael featuring James, Guard and Damien along with new characters that came to the resort for their fantasy. There is no doubt in my mind that Sean Michael is an exceptional story teller. The character development was spot on and I immediately fell in love with Cameron and Xander. I was great to see the Guard, James and Damien were able to work through their issues and still continue on together. I love the whole idea of a fantasy resort and hope that the series will continue as this gives me my BDSM fix along with my fantasy fix.

I really enjoy Sean Michael.  The stories flow nicely and are always interesting.

The first scenario was sweet.  There were hard things to discuss in this one and I liked how Michael didn’t really shy away from them.  Losing a sense is a big deal and how the characters both dealt with it was great!  I loved that they were sweet and kind – it was almost like insta-love, which I usually dislike, but this just worked.

I enjoyed the second scenario in this trio the most.  This one had amazing chemistry and the scene began with an unusual scenario.  I loved how great the two were together – even when Ben and Tip were playing, they had this connection.  Tip was instantly able to read what Ben needed and despite his resistance, Ben responded beautifully.  Their relationship was the most developed, I thought.

The third one was my least favorite of the bunch – it was difficult because it wasn’t really what you would think.  2 Dom’s but one going in to is wanting to learn how to be a better Dom, while the other is in love with the first.  It was somewhat difficult to understand the subtext and underlying feelings.

Finally, the trio of the books, the owners, I want, so badly to know their story.  You are just given snippets.  They have great chemistry, love each other, but there is a wall that they can’t get over.  I hope that we learn more about them in the next installation.

I really like the concept of this series, I just wish some of the wish scenarios were longer and I that we could see what happens after they leave the island. I do love the drama with Guard, James and Damien, I wish the books had more of them in it too. This series is like a mini vacation every time I read it, hot action, amazing island and beautiful men!

This review is for the audiobook, narrated by Jonathan Young.
Who Knows the Dark is an intriguing post-apocalyptic adventure. The narration is done perfectly. As with the first book, Jonathan Young really brings this story to life with his performance. I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a strong action/suspense story with some romance.
This book is a bit slower paced than the first. The focus is on mystery and suspense as the characters work to puzzle their way through the complications of their forced exile. The pacing fits the story perfectly. It’s highly engaging and really hard to put down.
My only complaint is I feel like the ending is a bit abrupt. In the first book the ending was perfect for me. There was a definite feeling of some kind of conclusion, even knowing there was more to come. I didn’t get that feeling with this ending, and that was mildly disappointing.
This series has a romantic sub-plot, and there are a few explicit sex scenes. But I wouldn’t recommend this to someone looking for a highly romantic or erotic story.
Overall, I loved this book! I’m emotionally connected to the characters, and the story has totally sucked me in. I can’t wait for the next one!

This was an excellent book. I loved the chemistry between Michelin and Lucky. That makes for what I consider as a really HOT book. The men in this story were absolutely amazing and I immediately feel in love with both of them. Michelin does come across as a man who just doesn’t have it in him to stand up for himself. That’s ok with me even though he’s dealing with Lucky who appears taking the bull by the horns. There were clearly many things that these two men had to work out but when they did it was amazing. The author writing style made this a really easy read and even though this book can be read as a standalone I will definitely go back and read the previous stories.

Lynn

FourStars

This was a sweet story that developed somewhat slowly.

Michelin is a rising star in the county music circuit.  He knows that if he comes out, his career could be over.  I found that his wishy-washiness detracted from the character that he could have been.  I thought that he would have stood up to his label more, but ultimately, he was not a very strong main character.  I can appreciate that Michelin struggled with the way he came out, but once it’s over and done with, he takes almost the entire story to come to terms.  It would have been nice to see him stand up and do more.

Lucky, however, is a different story.  While he has been out and proud for a while, he tries to understand where Michelin is coming from.  I think Lucky did the right thing in making Michelin decide for himself whether or not he was OK with being gay.
I love Lucky’s personality and what he does for a living.  I love that he’s not afraid to be himself, despite what others might think.  I think that he was my saving grace in this story.

Overall, it was a sweet story, but I would have loved to see more of their “after” life.

AvidReader

FourStars

The third book in this series is a little more mature and slightly more serious than the previous two reality TV focused books. While still fun and very sexy, this is definitely an adult, rather than a new adult title.

Unlike the younger characters in the first two books, Michelin Moses is an established star. Lucky might be younger, but his confidence and strength of character makes him feel older even than Michelin. It took me some time to warm to the closeted star. His insecurities and his martyrdom felt whiny at times and I spent most of the story wanting him to take control of his life, stand up for himself and Lucky and make some concrete decisions. But Lucky – I loved him from the moment we first see him go go dancing in combat boots. Where Michelin is an insecure, indecisive mess for most of the story, Lucky is confident, clever and unapologetic.

There were times I couldn’t decide whether I liked Lucky and Michelin as a couple. I wasn’t always convinced that Michelin understood and supported Lucky’s dancing. All the drama focuses on Michelin and his insecurities about being outed. I wanted more care for Lucky through the story. There are some very sexy scenes between the two and some moving moments that really resonated with me.

Controlling agents and studios are becoming a slightly overused trope in m/m fiction about musicians and film stars and not much is fresh about the pressures facing Michelin in this story. I enjoy pretend boyfriend stories but the only thing saving this story from mediocrity is the strength of characterisation and the warmth of Ms Albert’s writing.

I really enjoyed this well written and totally enthralling novel.  Two strong, yet emotional character very different in outlook and personality. This novel draws you in from the opening chapter.
Along with a complex, fast moving and totally absorbing plot the tension of the growing passion between the two woman pulsates with intensity and ardor.
Right up to the final moments this book will have you hooked. Great and well executed conclusion.

Dale works for the DEA and is still mourning the murder of her wife a year ago. When she is forced to ‘babysit’ Lindsay Ryan , famous TV reporter she’s not too pleased. She needs to keep working on a case involving a drug cartel and, along with some help from her friends, feels she is getting there. This PR job is interfering with that.  I really enjoyed this book. The drugs case involved some of Dale’s friends and their family members and it was a high tension, fascinating story. I loved how the revelations kept coming and connections were made. I wanted to find out more and more. I haven’t read the first book in this series and I felt I was playing catch-up a bit. Once I got it clear in my head and worked out where all of this came from I really go into it.  The highlight for me, though, was the slow-burning relationship and intense attraction between Dale and Lindsay.  Both had been alone for a while and were reluctant to get involved. That didn’t stop me wanting them to just get on with it! Carsen Taite really knows how to write sexual tension and never fails to please. A great read with plenty to pique the reader’s interest.

This was an excellent book in so many ways. It’s actually my first book from this author. Taite is definitely talented at the suspenseful thriller. The criminal/lawful aspects of the book were tightly plotted, with excellent pacing, and totally engaging. My problem in this book came from the romance element. Dale and Lindsey had a lot of chemistry that both fought strongly against. Then, all of sudden, both are admitting to deep feelings about the other. Strong enough that both felt comfortable talking about things they didn’t want the other to do. It seemed like there wasn’t  whole lot of ‘get-to-know-you’ or ‘let’s-spend-more-time-with-each-other.’ They simply went from an attraction that they didn’t talk about or admit to, and jumped to a full on desire to be together in a deep, loving way. In other words, it doesn’t seem like an organic progression of the relationship. So while I give kudos for the suspense, I say there needs to be a bit more development for the romance to work. This is book two in this series, and I would definitely pick up the first one, and the next one as well.
AmyP
ThreeStar
Lindsay is a likable, sweet, and caring person that you can’t help but want to succeed. Where Lindsay is open, Dale is closed off and guarded; that makes the couple a natural choice. As things normally go, just when we think they have finally gotten it right, something happens and they go their separate ways. The question is, will it be
for good?

The story of Lindsay and Dale was one that I had a hard time getting into. It took me seeing them together a few times before I really started getting sucked in to their story. I loved the crime investigation aspect of the book and I am sad that we didn’t get to see Lindsay more involved with the group on that.

My biggest gripe is all the loose ends left at the end of the book. I thought that surely ‘The End’ at the end of the book was placed there in error; however, as the book does end there, it must not be. Without spoiling too much, there is an investigation that is going on, which is pretty focused on throughout the book; however, even by the end of the book we don’t know its outcome. We also find out, almost in passing, that there may be a traitor among our group of friends, but I don’t recall finding out the person.

I feel the lack of properly finishing the book really hurt the book in the end. I had really enjoyed the book until that point and the book would have been a 4 or 4.5 stars for me; however, now as a reader I have to wait on the following book and purchase it to see what happens.

Having said that, Lindsay and Dale are great and I am happy to have met them; however, I don’t know if I will keep a look out for the second book or not.
