CoverTitle: Three More Wishes (Rainbow Island Book 2)
Author Name & Publisher: Sean Michael (Pride Publishing)
Publication Date & Length: August 9, 2016 – 222 pgs

Synopsis

Come to Rainbow Island, where all your sexual fantasies will come true.

James, Guard and Damien are back, still running their resort, where every fantasy, no matter how perverse, may come true. The three men continue working out the bumps in their threesome, but when it comes to their clients, they’re a well-oiled machine. Which works perfectly for the three new couples arriving in paradise.

Cameron is losing his sight, and he knows that he’ll be useless once it goes completely. He’s cashed in everything to leave his life behind for one last fling. Xander is on the island for a fantasy, too. He’s looking for someone to love on, someone to care for and Cameron seems to be the perfect match, but can they make it work?

As a writer, Ben always writes the script, which is why his fantasy is to give up control. He’s told his fantasy can’t be fulfilled, so he settles in for a relaxing vacation on an island paradise instead. Is he really as safe as he thinks he is?

Finally, Leo is a consummate top, always wanting to better his technique. He wants to know what it’s like to be a sub, but it won’t be easy for a Dominant to bottom for five days. Leo will do his dead-level best to measure up—his only worry is who the boys choose to be his fantasy top…

Don’t miss out on these fantasies come true.

And the story continues on with Damien, James and Guard. I love these threemen! Is the relationship salvageable? Do they make amends and end up a trio again? I need to know!

Fantasy one features Cameron, an ex-cowboy who is losing his sight, and Xander, the owner of a small bookstore. When Cameron was no longer able to see to work on his horse ranch with his partner and lover, he sold out to hid ex and purchased a one-way ticket to fulfill his fantasy on the island. He had no desire to ever go back to civilization. Xander is in awe at the fact that Cameron has never been informed of today’s modern conveniences available to the visually impaired. And when Xander finds out what Cameron’s plans are at the end of their 5 days together, he has no intentions of allowing him to go through them. Vowing to give Cameron the life he deserves.

Fantasy two is about Ben and Tip. Ben is an author of Thriller novels and Tip takes on odd jobs here and there and also works for the guys from the island a couple times a year to pay his bills. Ben’s fantasy is to live out some of the situations he writes about in his books. One of those situations is a real life kidnapping. Little does he know how terrifying this can be when you are actually living it. Tip isn’t sure how long he can keep up the charade. His “captive” seems genuinely terrified and if he doesn’t safeword and end this whole scene then Tip will.

In fantasy three we have Leo, a Dominant in the BDSM world. And David also a Dominant in the BDSM world. David has been in love with Leo for years. When he was asked to come to the island and be Leo’s Dom for 5 days to fulfill Leo’s fantasy, he jumped at the chance. Leo wants to have a better understanding of a submissive’s point of view. His fantasy is to be topped for 5 days so he can be a better Dom. What he isn’t expecting is to be topped by a man he knows, and who is also almost 10 years younger than he is. But what really shocks him is the relationship that begins between them in just a short time.

I loved all three of these fantasies! This book is definitely better than the first. The men in the fantasies all seemed to connect better. What I’m really hoping for is the conclusion to the relationship between our three owners.

This was another great book by Sean Michael featuring James, Guard and Damien along with new characters that came to the resort for their fantasy. There is no doubt in my mind that Sean Michael is an exceptional story teller. The character development was spot on and I immediately fell in love with Cameron and Xander. I was great to see the Guard, James and Damien were able to work through their issues and still continue on together. I love the whole idea of a fantasy resort and hope that the series will continue as this gives me my BDSM fix along with my fantasy fix.

I really enjoy Sean Michael.  The stories flow nicely and are always interesting.

The first scenario was sweet.  There were hard things to discuss in this one and I liked how Michael didn’t really shy away from them.  Losing a sense is a big deal and how the characters both dealt with it was great!  I loved that they were sweet and kind – it was almost like insta-love, which I usually dislike, but this just worked.

I enjoyed the second scenario in this trio the most.  This one had amazing chemistry and the scene began with an unusual scenario.  I loved how great the two were together – even when Ben and Tip were playing, they had this connection.  Tip was instantly able to read what Ben needed and despite his resistance, Ben responded beautifully.  Their relationship was the most developed, I thought.

The third one was my least favorite of the bunch – it was difficult because it wasn’t really what you would think.  2 Dom’s but one going in to is wanting to learn how to be a better Dom, while the other is in love with the first.  It was somewhat difficult to understand the subtext and underlying feelings.

Finally, the trio of the books, the owners, I want, so badly to know their story.  You are just given snippets.  They have great chemistry, love each other, but there is a wall that they can’t get over.  I hope that we learn more about them in the next installation.

I really like the concept of this series, I just wish some of the wish scenarios were longer and I that we could see what happens after they leave the island. I do love the drama with Guard, James and Damien, I wish the books had more of them in it too. This series is like a mini vacation every time I read it, hot action, amazing island and beautiful men!

This review is for the audiobook, narrated by Jonathan Young.
Who Knows the Dark is an intriguing post-apocalyptic adventure. The narration is done perfectly. As with the first book, Jonathan Young really brings this story to life with his performance. I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a strong action/suspense story with some romance.
This book is a bit slower paced than the first. The focus is on mystery and suspense as the characters work to puzzle their way through the complications of their forced exile. The pacing fits the story perfectly. It’s highly engaging and really hard to put down.
My only complaint is I feel like the ending is a bit abrupt. In the first book the ending was perfect for me. There was a definite feeling of some kind of conclusion, even knowing there was more to come. I didn’t get that feeling with this ending, and that was mildly disappointing.
This series has a romantic sub-plot, and there are a few explicit sex scenes. But I wouldn’t recommend this to someone looking for a highly romantic or erotic story.
Overall, I loved this book! I’m emotionally connected to the characters, and the story has totally sucked me in. I can’t wait for the next one!

This was an excellent book. I loved the chemistry between Michelin and Lucky. That makes for what I consider as a really HOT book. The men in this story were absolutely amazing and I immediately feel in love with both of them. Michelin does come across as a man who just doesn’t have it in him to stand up for himself. That’s ok with me even though he’s dealing with Lucky who appears taking the bull by the horns. There were clearly many things that these two men had to work out but when they did it was amazing. The author writing style made this a really easy read and even though this book can be read as a standalone I will definitely go back and read the previous stories.

This was a sweet story that developed somewhat slowly.

Michelin is a rising star in the county music circuit.  He knows that if he comes out, his career could be over.  I found that his wishy-washiness detracted from the character that he could have been.  I thought that he would have stood up to his label more, but ultimately, he was not a very strong main character.  I can appreciate that Michelin struggled with the way he came out, but once it’s over and done with, he takes almost the entire story to come to terms.  It would have been nice to see him stand up and do more.

Lucky, however, is a different story.  While he has been out and proud for a while, he tries to understand where Michelin is coming from.  I think Lucky did the right thing in making Michelin decide for himself whether or not he was OK with being gay.
I love Lucky’s personality and what he does for a living.  I love that he’s not afraid to be himself, despite what others might think.  I think that he was my saving grace in this story.

Overall, it was a sweet story, but I would have loved to see more of their “after” life.

AvidReader

FourStars

The third book in this series is a little more mature and slightly more serious than the previous two reality TV focused books. While still fun and very sexy, this is definitely an adult, rather than a new adult title.

Unlike the younger characters in the first two books, Michelin Moses is an established star. Lucky might be younger, but his confidence and strength of character makes him feel older even than Michelin. It took me some time to warm to the closeted star. His insecurities and his martyrdom felt whiny at times and I spent most of the story wanting him to take control of his life, stand up for himself and Lucky and make some concrete decisions. But Lucky – I loved him from the moment we first see him go go dancing in combat boots. Where Michelin is an insecure, indecisive mess for most of the story, Lucky is confident, clever and unapologetic.

There were times I couldn’t decide whether I liked Lucky and Michelin as a couple. I wasn’t always convinced that Michelin understood and supported Lucky’s dancing. All the drama focuses on Michelin and his insecurities about being outed. I wanted more care for Lucky through the story. There are some very sexy scenes between the two and some moving moments that really resonated with me.

Controlling agents and studios are becoming a slightly overused trope in m/m fiction about musicians and film stars and not much is fresh about the pressures facing Michelin in this story. I enjoy pretend boyfriend stories but the only thing saving this story from mediocrity is the strength of characterisation and the warmth of Ms Albert’s writing.

I really enjoyed this well written and totally enthralling novel.  Two strong, yet emotional character very different in outlook and personality. This novel draws you in from the opening chapter.
Along with a complex, fast moving and totally absorbing plot the tension of the growing passion between the two woman pulsates with intensity and ardor.
Right up to the final moments this book will have you hooked. Great and well executed conclusion.

Dale works for the DEA and is still mourning the murder of her wife a year ago. When she is forced to ‘babysit’ Lindsay Ryan , famous TV reporter she’s not too pleased. She needs to keep working on a case involving a drug cartel and, along with some help from her friends, feels she is getting there. This PR job is interfering with that.  I really enjoyed this book. The drugs case involved some of Dale’s friends and their family members and it was a high tension, fascinating story. I loved how the revelations kept coming and connections were made. I wanted to find out more and more. I haven’t read the first book in this series and I felt I was playing catch-up a bit. Once I got it clear in my head and worked out where all of this came from I really go into it.  The highlight for me, though, was the slow-burning relationship and intense attraction between Dale and Lindsay.  Both had been alone for a while and were reluctant to get involved. That didn’t stop me wanting them to just get on with it! Carsen Taite really knows how to write sexual tension and never fails to please. A great read with plenty to pique the reader’s interest.

This was an excellent book in so many ways. It’s actually my first book from this author. Taite is definitely talented at the suspenseful thriller. The criminal/lawful aspects of the book were tightly plotted, with excellent pacing, and totally engaging. My problem in this book came from the romance element. Dale and Lindsey had a lot of chemistry that both fought strongly against. Then, all of sudden, both are admitting to deep feelings about the other. Strong enough that both felt comfortable talking about things they didn’t want the other to do. It seemed like there wasn’t  whole lot of ‘get-to-know-you’ or ‘let’s-spend-more-time-with-each-other.’ They simply went from an attraction that they didn’t talk about or admit to, and jumped to a full on desire to be together in a deep, loving way. In other words, it doesn’t seem like an organic progression of the relationship. So while I give kudos for the suspense, I say there needs to be a bit more development for the romance to work. This is book two in this series, and I would definitely pick up the first one, and the next one as well.

Lindsay is a likable, sweet, and caring person that you can’t help but want to succeed. Where Lindsay is open, Dale is closed off and guarded; that makes the couple a natural choice. As things normally go, just when we think they have finally gotten it right, something happens and they go their separate ways. The question is, will it be
for good?

The story of Lindsay and Dale was one that I had a hard time getting into. It took me seeing them together a few times before I really started getting sucked in to their story. I loved the crime investigation aspect of the book and I am sad that we didn’t get to see Lindsay more involved with the group on that.

My biggest gripe is all the loose ends left at the end of the book. I thought that surely ‘The End’ at the end of the book was placed there in error; however, as the book does end there, it must not be. Without spoiling too much, there is an investigation that is going on, which is pretty focused on throughout the book; however, even by the end of the book we don’t know its outcome. We also find out, almost in passing, that there may be a traitor among our group of friends, but I don’t recall finding out the person.

I feel the lack of properly finishing the book really hurt the book in the end. I had really enjoyed the book until that point and the book would have been a 4 or 4.5 stars for me; however, now as a reader I have to wait on the following book and purchase it to see what happens.

Having said that, Lindsay and Dale are great and I am happy to have met them; however, I don’t know if I will keep a look out for the second book or not.

What humans want from the Silver Planet is water. What they find is a race of humanoids who are sentient, but as emotionless and serene as the plants and placid lakes they tend. But then he bonds with Imms, who seems different from the others-interested in learning, intrigued by human feelings. When a fire aboard B’s ship kills most of the crew and endangers Imms, B decides to take him back to Earth. But the simplicity of the Silver Planet doesn’t follow them. Imms learns the full spectrum of human emotions, including a love B is frightened to return, and a mistrust of the bureaucracy that wants to treat Imms like a test subject, even if they have to eliminate B to do it.

This was a very fascinating read. The world the author created was simple to understand, yet it was unique.
B is the captain of a ship that landed on Planet Silver to study the planet. They didn’t know until they landed on the planet that it was actually inhabited. They meet the “Silvers”, humanoid like beings with clear, silvery skin and you can see their heart, which can travel all over their body. I found that very interesting. And so did the crew, enough to actually start teaching them human basics…then turn around and start chopping them up and basically torturing them in the name of “science”. Oh man, I was upset about that, but it was believable because…human. When we don’t understand something, we start tearing it apart.
B meets Imms, an impulsive Silver who wants to learn about how it is to be human. The love story between them was odd. I’m not sure if I even liked B. He was too hot and cold for me and Imm’s suffering was intolerable to me. I was all for Imms though and adored his quirks. All in all, I liked this book a lot. It questions human morals. The ending kind of left me hanging. Part 2? 🙂

I enjoyed reading about the 3 separate couples coming to the island to live out their fantasies. The book also highlights the 3 owners of the island, James, Guard and Damien. I’m a huge fan of BDSM and this

We read about Benji, the picture perfect model obsessed with body modifications, but too afraid to step foot into a tattoo/body piercing studio on his own. And Thor the badass Dom who’s looking for a full-time submissive, who happens to know a thing or two about tattoos and body piercings since he his own studio.

Then we come to Alan and Roman. Alan wants nothing more than to please his Master, Roman. So when Roman asks Alan to sub for other Doms who specialize in certain activities that Roman isn’t comfortable doing, Alan is only too eager to please. Only Alan isn’t prepared for the instant attraction he has to one of the Dom’s and it scares him so much he’s unable to finish the scene.

Finally, we have Quinn and Pierce. Quinn is afraid if Pierce finds out about his medical fetishes he won’t love him anymore. He wants to experience them on the island in the hopes of putting them in his past and leaving them there. What he isn’t prepared for, is for Pierce to be the one who was brought to the island to allow all the fantasies to come true. When Pierce discovers Quinn’s desires, it brings about a whole new set of desires from Pierce that both men are anxious to experience.

I can’t say that I’ve ever read any of Sean Michael’s books before so I’m very excited to read the next book in this series. I’m anxious to find out the conclusion between James, Guard and Damien. The author gives the reader snippets into the men’s past that has left James in a wheelchair and his 2 lover laden with guilt.

Kris

FiveStars

I have to say that I was complete surprised by just go much I really enjoyed this book. I knew that it would be an erotic book but I love that each of the three fantasies had a story line behind them and each story line was different from the last.

If I had to choose whose was my favorite it would have been Benji and Thor. I enjoyed the other two couples fantasies but Benji and Thor did not know one another before hand and they just clicked from the start. It was like they had always been together and because of the ability to have this fantasy two people came together and fell head over heals for each other.

But what I liked the most about this book was the story line behind Damien, Guard and James. You can tell there is a lot of hurt, guilt, love, passion, and pain between these three men and I cannot wait to see what exactly comes of the three of them in the next book in this series.

I have to say that Sean Michael did an amazing job on this book and has me on edge when it comes to reading the next book.

This book was great, but I’ve come to expect no less from Sean Michael. He writes primarily BDSM books (although he has written other types of books) but I do love his BDSM books. This book will definitely give you several different types of kink. I love how this author is able to eloquently write three total different types of stories of fantasy and combine it into one book. This book seems to have everything in it, from sweet to giving me my BDSM kinks. I have always loved Sean Michael’s writing style and in this book I was able to just read and enjoy and know that I was getting a great quality read. I don’t usually talk about the actual story as I like to review the author instead but I have to say that I can’t wait to read the second installment as I really need to find out the whole story between Guard, Damian and James. Overall this was another excellent story from an author I love to read as I can get my BDSM fix and still read about love.

Lynn

FourandHalfStars

Let me start this review by saying that I enjoy Sean Michael’s books.  This was no exception.

I think that it lost 1/2 a star from me because we only were really given the three wishes, but at the beginning of the story, there was so much more hinted at.  Without more details or a resolution, I felt that this was a very incomplete story – and, yes, while I understand that this is going to be a series, I was still wishing to have more background information on James, Guard and Damien.

First wish:  Thor and Benji. These two were very opposite – personality wise, build wise and temperament.  However, because this fantasy was one of Benji wanting to be dominated, it worked well enough.  I thought that Michael did an amazing job at describing the artwork, as well as the emotions that Benji was going through.  I could really see their story unfolding.

Second wish:  Alan and Roman.  This was my least favorite of them all.  I thought that the premise was very intriguing, however, the delivery was less than stellar.  I didn’t really think there was a conflict, per say in this scenario.  It seemed that both parties wanted it to be exhibitionism and that this was the most tame of the wishes that the island provided.  I also didn’t really like how I was left feeling that this wish was somehow truncated – did they end up with a deeper connection?  Or just learn to avoid Alan being attracted?  This fantasy was not super successful for me.

Third wish:  Quinn and Pierce.  This was a great fantasy that developed from an existing desire.  I think that it was fairly successful because once you know their background, why they are there, everything seems to fall in to place.  And, while they are still learning how to cope with desires and reality, you get to join them on their adventure.  I liked the dynamic between these two characters a lot and felt that they had a great connection both while in scene and out of it.  They had the most communication regarding their relationship and it felt that they were truly able to grow while living out their fantasy.

Overall, I liked this book.  It was a quick read and even though I was disappointed that we were not given more on the main characters, I am hopeful that we will be given more in time.

I have no hesitation in giving this book 5 stars as it is one I’ll remember for a long time. This is the touching and beautiful story of two very different women who find they can’t live without each other. Jinx and E.J. are, on the surface, complete opposites who should have nothing in common but their attraction is so strong that neither can fight it. Jinx is an ex-con with a very scary past and I wondered whether E.J. could ever get past that. E.J. seemingly has it all – a great career, beautiful apartment, perfect family. That may be true on the surface but she has serious issues to get past; the most important being telling her kids she is gay. Both women have great friends they can rely on and with their help they begin to see that they have a future together. The two main characters are well fleshed out and I especially liked Jinx. She was a strong woman who spent her life looking after others. There is so much depth to the book and the backstories of Jinx and E.J.are especially well done. I felt myself really caring what happened to them. The love scenes are tender and beautifully written and totally believable. Jeannie Levig has the gift of drawing the reader completely into her world and making them want to stay there. An exceptional story.
Kitty Kat

FiveStars

Seldom have I read such a passionate and insightful love story as this. Ms Levig’s novel flows like a magnificent river, sometimes roaring other times meandering but always effortlessly and impressively moving gracefully on.
A very different take on romance. The leading women were mature and each had their own demons to explain and to overcome. Jink’s background was very unconventional for a romantic novel, while E. J. had to confront the problems and anxieties felt by many older lesbians who had previously been married to a man and had children.
This heart warming and at times poignant novel was written with such depth of emotions that at times I was laughing at the humour at other times crying at the pathos of the situation.
This is just one of those exceptional reads that eclipses so many others of the same genre. I loved it and highly recommend this amazing book.

FourandHalfStars
I really enjoyed this book. This made me really think about how society treats ex-convicts, and the limited choices they have once they’ve paid their debt to society. It’s hard to imagine that when faced with this type of prejudice after they get out, that they keep trying to stay clean. Without her friends, Reggie and Sparkle, I think Jinx would have found her turnaround even harder to do, and that’s kind of depressing, because she really has paid for her mistakes. This doesn’t even touch on E.J. and her issues. E.J. hasn’t really been living for quite some time, her fears getting in the way of her becoming the person she truly is. She’s never lived as herself, always becoming someone acceptable to the people in her life who are supposed to be the ones who love her unconditionally. These fears interfere with her having a relationship with Jinx, even though she’s unable to stay away from her. I’m not sure that anybody but Jinx would have put up with being jerked around like that, and Jinx perhaps puts up with it because she hasn’t ever really had an adult relationship. I liked Sparkle’s take on it, and the way she treated E.J. the second time they met. There are just so many, many relationships in this story that are awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone like Jinx, but boy would I like to. I loved the evolution of the relationship between E.J. and Jinx, and how it gave each of them the strength to change and face things honestly, because what they had together was worth it. Definitely a recommend.

Opposites attract in this lovely story that follows ex-con Jinx and successful business woman E.J. Things are super heated and their chemistry is depicted so well it is almost visible to the eyes. However, once the secrets of the past are out, will things remain the same? And then there is the matter of E.J.’s children having no idea she prefers women. The greatest rewards are never easy to obtain, and things aren’t easy for these ladies either.

I liked meeting E.J. and Jinx; the author did a beautiful job depicting them. I enjoyed watching their story unfold and ended up liking the book more than expected.

The story had good pacing and was well written. Lovely novel, a lot of sweet as well as some spice. And boy was it spicy. Certain parts of the book were definitely not read-in-public safe. However, they were tastefully written and erotic to read. Great mix of sugar and spice.

So many things to like in this book. The sex scenes were hot. H. O. T. The kink was good, integrated within the story, integral to the plot, but not overwhelming. The emotions of all three characters made the relationship between them all. No, they don’t expect everything to be roses all the time. They expect problems and issues, but they all have a desire to work through them. A realistic viewpoint. The serial killer case upped the tension and anticipation, knowing that something was going to happen. I would say, though, that it was difficult swinging between the two extremes of the plot. The romance/erotica/relationship story had such a different feel from the police procedural/murder mystery/cop thriller, and sometimes the transition between the two was difficult to traverse. Both storylines were good, both kept my attention, but they evoked very different reactions, and I’m not sure those went together as well. Also, there was a lot of foreshadowing, enough that I felt confident in who the perp was, and how things would come to a head. That didn’t lessen my enjoyment at all. I liked the emphasis on the feelings of Julia, Garrison, and Keaton, and how they all worked through honest communication to get to a place where everybody was happy with the relationship. All in all, this was a very enjoyable read.

What did I just read? Brilliance is what that was! Plus look at that cover…oh freaking my, sexy, sexy. This story had a little bit of everything that crosses of the must have list. It had the suspense, it had the D/s, it had the love and emotions. It didn’t have that insta-love and fairytales, which for me is all the better. Garrison and Julia have amazing marriage and understand, trust, respect each other to help the other with what they need in life. The characters had to work for the relationship, yet the relationship felt real not forced or fake. I liked that Julia and Garrison knew Keaton in their own unique ways. It helps to show that the deep connection that was there and why the emotions bloomed so well. They felt real with real issues and fears, like they were your neighbors. Garrison and Julia may have been a strong couple, but with the addition of Keaton, the three are a powerhouse throuple and so dang sexy too, mmhmm.
The flow was smooth; the storyline was coherent. I enjoyed having the 3 POVs, so I could get to know each one and I did. Garrison was my favorite, he cracked me up, yet his love for his wife to let her do what she needs is amazing. Once I started reading, I could not set this book down.

I love Orman books.  This one did not disappoint.  The characters are well developed and the story flows easily.
Julia, Garrison and Keaton are all living their lives – doing what they love and trying to figure out how to be happy.
I love that Julia is both Domme and sub.  I think that it gives her a unique experience and with her skills, she is able to fulfill many desires.  I also really like that she keeps her client’s secret, even from Garrison.  I think that it makes her situation throughout the story much more real.  When she is faced with a situation, she handles herself with grace and strength.
Then you have Garrison, who is working hard to figure out who is hurting Domme’s in his town.  Not only does he not really have a clue who is doing this, but he has to figure out his feelings for DA Keaton.  While he loves his wife, he also knows that he enjoys being with men too.  Julia knows and accepts this about him, so he just needs to figure out if Keaton should be with them as a couple, him alone or not at all.
Finally, you have Keaton.  I loved his character.  He was strong, brave and unafraid of what he desires.  He knows that his lifestyle could put him in the hot seat, so he’s thankful that he found someone who will keep his secret.  When he figures out how everything is connected, he has to make the decision to leap and hope that nothing bad will happen.
The three of them have OK chemistry, but I do wish that we would have seen them more on a one and one basis.  I felt like we heard all about their relationship, but didn’t really get to see it develop.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story.  It had great chemistry and the mystery was intriguing.

Rachael Orman you completely and totally blew me away. I have not read any of Rachael Orman’s previous books but I can guarantee you that I will be doing so now. This is a book that is full of lust, respect, dommes, submissives, dominates, love, cravings, mystery, murder, BDSM, and so much more. What more can a girl ask for? Oh yeah I know, male/male/female relations. But guess what, it has that too.

This is one of those books that when you start reading it sucks you in immediately and does not let go till the very end and even then you are left wishing you had not finished the book yet because you want more. It is one of those books that even when it ismidnight you do not want to put the book down because you have to know what is going to happen next.

Garrison and Julia are happily married and if push came to shove, they are not missing anything in their relationship. They are truly a couple that most would love to base their own relationship off of but Julia is submissive to Garrison but is a Domme to others in her part time line of work. Garrison is also bisexual but they have never let those two things come between them. I honestly do not think that they ever would have either. But both of them being attracted to Keaton was a plus in their marriage because both was able to get to explore parts of themselves that they normally would not have.

In my opinion, it was inevitable for the three of these people to end up together. They each complimented one another in ways that made them all better people and happier in their lives. It is as if in my opinion, that they are made for one another. The three of them together is better all together then they ever could be apart.

With the murders happening around them, it throws an extra spin into the book that made it even more captivating. I really enjoyed reading this book so much and I cannot wait to read more books by Rachael Orman. She is a spectacular author and this book is proof of that. Amazing job!!!!

This was a great short story.  It had all of the makings of being able to be more too, but I was very happy with the story that unfolded.

Yancy is writing the story of his lover, Curt’s struggle with suicide.  It is Yancy’s way of healing and allowing Curt’s story to be heard in order to, hopefully make talk of suicide and depression something more tangible and real.

Enter Hume.  Right away, Laine gives Hume a snake like quality.  You can just tell that he’s not up to any good and when he is seen for who he truly is, it’s one of those “I knew it!” moments.  It was very satisfying to see him get what he deserved.

I loved how Curt was able to help Yancy through this emotional struggle, but I loved even more how he was just there for Yancy in a way that nobody else was able to be.

This was sweet and heartwarming.

Third Mate is the third in the River Wolf Pack series. Unlike the first two books, which focused on one relationship per book, Third Mate follows three relationships, with multiple points of view.
I’ve been a fan of Rebecca’s since reading First Omega, and I’ve absolutely loved the entire series. Third Mate was no exception. Tensions in the River Wolf Pack have been building since book one, and it was interesting to see how that storyline was dealt with, as well as what it meant for Josiah, River, and their daughters. Continuing from book two was the relationship between Jax and David, which somehow managed to get even more complicated before getting better. But I absolutely loved seeing that play out and I was so happy that they were able to find peace and happiness, even if it wasn’t the way they first thought it would be.
The new love story in book three was that of Sam and Leo. I was so pleased to see Sam finally find a place in the pack, especially with someone like Leo. Still, there was a large part of me that wanted Foster to be part of the mix, but I feel like there’s enough grey area that it could be revisited. And if not, then I guess the reader can determine whether Foster found his true mate or if he decided to mate with Leo and Sam.
On top of an excellent plot, the sex scenes were hot as always. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying addition to the River Wolf Pack series.

Excerpt

In Second Alpha, Sam was taken into River Wolf Pack after losing his pack. He roamed the woods for months with his brother until his brother was killed by a trap. In Third Mate, Sam has become enamored with grouchy, sexy alpha, Leo. He has a feeling, though, that Leo is in love with Foster, Sam’s best friend. Shy and emotionally vulnerable, Sam tries to keep to himself, but often Foster won’t let him.

Excerpt from Third Mate:

“What’s cooking?” Foster asked. “It smells really good.”

“Lasagna and garlic bread,” Leo answered. “Also salad.”

“I didn’t think you could cook.”

Sam couldn’t help glancing up at that, and he found the alpha looking sheepish.

“Brooks cooked for me.”

“Of course, I did.” Brooks came in from the kitchen, apron still around his waist. “And I’m staying to eat, too.”

Foster grinned at Brooks. “I’m glad you’re here. Do you know if the library has a book on the health of omega shifters?”

Sam had the urge to kick Foster as Leo turned green eyes on Sam.

“Something wrong with your health?” At Leo’s intense scrutiny, Sam’s heart sped up to the point his vision whited out for a moment, and the next thing he knew, strong arms came around him, lowering him onto soft cushions. When Sam’s eyes fluttered open, he almost stopped breathing to find Leo’s face close to his own. “Are you okay?” Leo asked.

Foster’s worried face appeared over Leo’s shoulder. “He hasn’t been eating right.” Foster looked at Brooks. “Do you have a book on it?”

“I don’t think so,” Brooks said. “You’ve seen everything I have on the subject of shifters of any kind. I’ll add it to the list of books I want to get in the city.”

“You’re going to the city?” Leo asked. Sam had heard that after the kidnapping Brooks had said he’d never go back there.

“No. Xavier will go. Or Malcolm.” Brooks looked down at Sam. “I’ll get you some water.” Sam tried to struggle to a sitting position, but Leo’s big hand on his shoulder stopped him.

“Rest a minute. How long have you been having dizzy spells?”

There was no way Sam was going to tell the alpha he’d collapsed out of sheer excitement just because Leo had looked at him a certain way. “I’ve only had a few recently.”

“Do I have to come over and make you eat every day?” Leo asked, and Sam had a sudden vision of the alpha force-feeding him something that wasn’t food. He swallowed audibly, and caught Foster’s knowing smile over Leo’s shoulder.

“I think he’d like that,” Foster said. Fuck, Sam was going to beat Foster’s ass when they got home. He settled for a scowl for now. It didn’t seem to worry Foster too much. Brooks came back with the water, and Leo helped Sam sit up before moving away.

Foster took his place on the couch. “Feeling better?”

Sam nodded. “I just need to eat, I guess.”

“Well, it’s ready, so let’s dig in,” Brooks said, leading the way into the dining room.

It wasn’t difficult for Sam to eat the entire portion given him; the food was delicious. He tried to resist, though, when Foster pushed seconds onto his plate.

“Come on. Be a good boy and eat it all up.” Foster grinned at Sam, and Sam saw Leo watching him. How could Foster be so oblivious to the alpha’s interest? Sam took a bite of lasagna to appease his friend, but as soon as Foster began talking to Brooks, Sam put his fork down and drank his water instead. That is, until Leo growled. With a sigh, Sam took another bite of lasagna.

“How come you asked us to dinner?” Foster asked Leo. “Sick of the food in the dining hall?”

Leo looked uncomfortable. “Not at all. I just thought…” He glanced at Brooks. “Brooks could use some practice in the kitchen.”

“Oh, well, thanks for inviting us.” Foster shoved a large forkful of salad into his mouth and chewed, missing the eye roll Brooks gave Leo. So Leo had enlisted his friend’s help in impressing Foster. Figured. Sam was just the necessary tag-along.

“Will you guys be staying in the guest bungalow permanently?” Brooks asked Foster and Sam.

“I think River said he was going to have something a little smaller built for us, unless we want our own places,” Foster said. “I think we’ll stay together, though.”

“Oh?” Brooks looked with interest between Foster and Sam. “It’s like that, is it?”

“Like what?”

“He thinks we’re fucking,” Sam said, and Leo dropped his fork onto his plate with a clatter.

Foster laughed. “Oh.” He shrugged.

Sam wondered at the fact he didn’t deny it. Leo looked apoplectic, and Brooks seemed to be trying to hide a smile.

“Dessert anyone?” Brooks asked.

Sam moaned at the very thought of more food. He leaned back in his chair and held his stomach. “I’m stuffed.”

“What did you make?” Foster asked.

“Strawberry shortcake.”

“I definitely want some.” Foster looked at Sam. “We can share.”

Sam had every intention of refusing a bite, but when Foster held out the forkful of fluffy cake, dripping with red strawberry juice and whipped cream, he found himself opening his mouth to take it in, eyes fluttering shut as his lips closed around the fork. When he felt the fork slide from his mouth, he opened his eyes to see three pairs staring at him. “What?” Sam licked whipped cream from his lips.

Leo abruptly stood and mumbled something about having to use the bathroom.
