When rodeo clown Brandt Collins is forced into retirement by an injury in the arena, he heads to long-time friend Kaden Slater’s hometown to settle down. As far as he’s concerned, if that old flame ignites into a wildfire, then all the better.

Kaden is glad to see Brandt, but a little complication in the form of Kaden’s new assistant, Mike, throws a wrench in all their plans. Sexy, smart and young, Mike wants Kaden more than he wants his next breath.

Soon, misunderstandings and the past conspire to tear the trio apart before they’ve even begun. And now it’s their choices that will determine who finds love—and who doesn’t.

FourStars

This was a good, quick read. The name really is good for this book considering these three men have a big choice to make.

Brandt and Kaden have put off persuing a relationship with one another for a very long time. They both thought that their careers was more important even though they hurt not being together. In that time apart Kaden hired Mike to work in the vet offices as his assistant and knows that Mike has a crush on him and the feeling is mutual but he has never acted on it because of Brandt. These tree men finally come together and have a choice to make. Kaden can walk away from one or both men or the three of them can try and make a go of it together as a threesome.

I think this was a good read but there could have been so much more to it. For instance it left everything that was happening or did happen with Amos up in the air. EM Woods never elaborated on what the situation was with this man and how he was involved with Brandt or Mike either one and EM never elaborated on what happened with Amos after the the near fight at Sissy’s house. So it is kind of there in the air. I also wish that EM Woods would have elaborated more on who these three men decided to come together and what led to the decision. It was a good story but I feel like it could have been a great story with more details.

FiveStars

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book, I am usually not into polyamorous relationships but this one just worked. Each of the five men had something different to bring to the table in the relationship and without one of them, it wouldn’t have worked. Noah, kicked out by his dad when he came out as a teen comes back for his dad’s funeral. Noah’s dad leaves him his house and boat which shocks him. On the way to the house Noah comes across Ian, Ty, Gabriel and Joshua. Ian is outspoken and getting over his jerk of an ex. Ty is running his aunts cleaning business, Gabriel was abused and left for dead and Joshua is fresh out of jail for a crime he didn’t commit. These five men are so different but work so well together and when they all come together it is beautiful. You can feel the love each of them has for each other and it was simply a beautiful story.

Angie

FiveStars

ometimes it takes more then one person to make a relationship whole. In this case it takes five.

Five different men come together that are total opposites with different pasts.

Noah is the long lost son who was kicked out by his father when he was a teenager for being gay. He returned home for his funeral and expected to leave again right away. But the best laid plans do not always happen that way and sometimes when those plans don’t turn out the way they are planned, but that is sometimes for the best. Noah is the steady one in the relationship. He is able to neutralize a disaster before it happens or he is able to calm a situation.

Ian is a mother hen. He is able to take care of those around him and he is able to make those around him feel the love and compassion he has in him. They feel safe with love because of him.

Joshua is the steady one. He is there to stand up for those he believes in and he helps them fight their demons and realize their worth. Even though he has a hard time doing it for himself.

Ty is the one who brings out the laughter and lightheartedness for those around him. He makes those around him feel joy and see things in life in a different way.

Gabriel is the one that brings out the beauty of things for others. He can take what most would think is trash and turn it into a thing of beauty.

These five men together create happiness, love, dependability, family, beauty, and so much more. They have their ups and downs but the five of them have each other no matter what.

This is an amazing story about how five people who were strangers and came together to make a family. It is a beautiful story and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Tosha

FiveStars

I have to admit that I expected a steamy, sexy read, but I was completely unprepared for (and pleasantly surprised by) the depth of emotion or the quality of writing in this story.

Each of the five men in this story is beautifully developed. While this felt like Noah’s story at the start, it soon belonged to all five men. All of the characters bring secrets and heartbreak to a relationship that offers acceptance, healing and comfort. I loved the unique stories and histories of all of these men and I really admire the way the author made five such different men so compatible and ultimately made each of the five men essential to the relationship.

I loved the men’s tiny island home and the characters on the island. The OTT storyline with Ian’s ex-boyfriend wasn’t really necessary, but it didn’t detract too much from the rest of the story. Starting with a funeral for a man that several of the characters knew in very different ways was both a brilliant hook and a believable spark for the connection between the men.

There are few authors who manage to write polyamorous relationships without either fetishising the connections between the characters or painting a very negative picture of polyamory for readers. Here, Max McGowan manages a believable and moving relationship between five characters. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

4 Stars and 3.5 Stars for Con Boys are Naughty by J. P. Barnaby @JPBarnaby #MM #MMM #Menage #LightBDSM

ThreeandHalfStars

I went into this book with completely different expectations than I should have. For starters, it’s a short story or novella, rather than a novel, so I was a bit surprised when I saw that all in all, it was only thirty seven pages including front and back matter. That’s fine, though. I like novellas as much as the next person!

I’m a huge fan of BDSM books. Next to historical fiction, it’s my favourite. Unfortunately, this one fell a bit short. The good: The relationship between Brandon and Sean is great. It was incredibly authentic, and you can really see the exchange of power, with Sean providing a reassuring confidence that Brandon seems to lack. Also, the menage element was really a great addition. I liked the dynamic between the three in bed. The backdrop was also interesting – an author convention. I would have loved to have seen more of the con, but given that this was an erotic short story, I get why we weren’t given more than a glimpse.
The not-so-good: The writing, to me, fell a bit flat. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad writing by any means. But there were certain words and phrases that really pulled me out of the story. For instance, at one point while having sex, there’s this line “Keeping his hips at the same angle, he punched the little button over and over like he was playing Space Invaders with his cock.” Analogies can be really good, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark. I also didn’t really like JUST how tidy the ending was. Coincidences in a story aren’t exactly my cup of tea. Again, the writing wasn’t bad, and if you’re looking for a steamy, short piece to enjoy in a sitting, then this is one you’ll probably enjoy. For me, it just fell a bit short.
Alyson
FourStars
This was a very interesting short story. It had humor, it had the Dom/sub element, it has insecurities, it had confidence, it had m/m/m action, and it had unconditional love.

For a short story it had some very HOT scenes involving Sean (the Dom in the relationship), Brandon (the sub in the relationship), and a third they added for the night Robin (aka Nikki).

Sean knows that Brandon is not comfortable in situations involving people. But as his Dom he also knows that Brandon wants more then to be just an author, he wants to be able to interact with his fans but he is afraid.

So being Brandon’s Dom he knows he has to push him out of his protective shell and be there to catch him if he falls. He also knows that Brandon will work himself into a state before the convention if he does not do something to take his mind off of it. That is where Robin comes into play. And boy does he ever.

Brandon is the type of person in my opinion that does not have confidence in his own iminnee strength but wants to do what is necessary to make Sean proud of him so he is willing to put himself in a situation that he does not feel completely safe in. He is willing to push his own boundaries to make his Dom happy and to achieve his own dreams.

I really enjoyed this read but I wish that it would have more of an ending. It has a great story line but it came to an abrupt end. Other then that I think that is was a very enjoyable read.

This book is different from most books I would normally read. For starters I would consider it to be historical because it was started in the 50’s and led up to the late 70’s. I have not ever been one to really want to read books from those time periods. Back in those days being gay was something to not be proud of. Not a lot of people was open about it and it was definitely unheard of to be in a threesome relationship.

This book was different from others that I read because it jumped from the past to the present throughout the whole book. But I found that I really enjoyed that.

The three characters Chad, Roy, and Tucker were all so different from one another but so good for each other. They brought forth the relationship things that the others didn’t and in their own ways they gave each other strength to overcome their hard pasts. Because do not think that anyone one of them had an easy past because they all three had some extremely hard times. They were each different in what they went through but I think that what they went through helped them all to end up with a better future together.

This book was funny, sad, heartbreaking, refreshing, and full of so much love. I really enjoyed this read and hope others do also.

5 Star Review for Naughty By Night (Grad School Guys #2) by Devon Rhodes #MM #Romance @devonrhodes @PridePublishing

Author Name & Publisher: Devon Rhodes (Pride Publishing)

Synopsis

Normally, finding the hot neighbor in bed with your boyfriend would be the end—not the beginning—of a wonderful relationship.

FiveStars

This turned out to be an extremely interesting book that could have turned out so bad if it had not been the three guys that it was actually about.

Marty is not the type of guy in my opinion that is really comfortable in his own skin. He can handle the hook ups and such but it is what happens afterwards that makes him withdrawal into himself. He is not one to be able to carry on a conversation with others because I believe that he over thinks things and he projects his over thinking into being extremely awkward which then leads to dead end relationships with just about any one so he sticks to himself.

Kevin is the exact opposite of Marty. He turns everything into an opportunity of meeting new people and putting himself out there. He is the walking party and he decides to take Marty under his wing and drawl him out of his shell so he can get up the courage to ask out the mystery guy that Marty likes. Which in some crazy way he does but Kevin is just not to perceptive because Marty has a crush on him as well as the hot accountant that works next door to where Marty works, Jason.

Marty never gets up the courage and ends up losing both Kevin and Jason and the kicker is about losing them, he loses them to each other.

I love how Devon Rhodes took a relationship between these three men that seemed virtually impossible and was able to make them all into something more.

I started this post out by saying that this could have turned out so bad if it was not for the characters that it was about. Well to elaborate on that, I meant that these three men did not start out mutually deciding to start a relationship between the three of them. It started out as friendship and Kevin knew that they all had at least an attraction between the three of them but he decided it needed to be taken a step further. This could have turned into an epic failure and they could have lost each other.

Devon made these characters so that completed each other perfectly and made it so that each of them was the missing piece to the puzzle that completed itself once they all came together. It is easy to write book about threesomes but to make these characters so perfect for one another is a true gift because each of these characters have such different personalities. I do not see it being easy to bring these three different personalities together to make each one of them whole but Devon accomplished it and added bits and pieces of humor along the way. Was a great read and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

4 Star Review for Discovering Dalton by Nicole Colville (AUTHOR INTERVIEW) #MM #Menage @NIKKIECOLVILLE

1Discovering Dalton E-Book Cover

Title: Discovering Dalton (Manchester Menage Collection #2)
Author Name: Nicole Colville
Publication Date & Length: August 28, 2015 – 382 pgs

Synopsis

At fifteen, Troy and Liam were fostered by the same family, and although they hated each other at first, they gradually became solid friends. As adults, the two foster brothers live together. Both experience tough times, each being a rock for the other, but their love had never been anything other than brotherly.

Until they both fall for the same guy, and things get… complicated.

Dalton is fresh out of a ten year marriage. Feeling lost, he concentrates on the only thing he can control—his body. Developing from a chubby, unfit police officer into a lean, mean inked one, Dalton has never looked better, but inside, he’s never felt worse. A relationship is far from his thoughts, and one with another man makes Dalton even more confused. He takes time to get to know Troy and Liam separately, but Manchester isn’t that big, and sparks fly when fate throws the three together.

Together, these three fight it out between them. Both Troy and Liam demand Dalton choose between them, but what if he didn’t have to choose? What if it could work between three?

The things in life we fight for are never the easiest, but they’re the ones worth holding onto forever.

Review

FourStars

This is a fantastic addition to a great series. At the start of the story, Liam and Troy are a brilliant non-couple. Both are survivors of the care system, having weathered experiences that have left the former foster brothers with a fierce intimacy and an inability to form romantic attachments. When Dalton, a formerly straight policeman, gets a tattoo from Troy and personal training from Liam, he somehow starts dating both brothers.

I really enjoyed this slightly unusual m/m/m. I really enjoyed each of the pairs as a couple and I believed in Liam and Troy’s struggle to allow themselves to move forward from the brotherly relationship they had always insisted on.

This is a relationship between three alpha males and Colville makes all three men into complicated, flawed and completely loveable heroes. I really enjoyed the dynamics between the three men. There is a little bit too much talking and brooding for me at times. The heat in this story takes some time to build but the author makes up for lost time once her men are together.

And finally, I love the fact that Nicole Colville is a UK based writer because I am able to relax and stop translating Americanisms when I read her work. What a great series!

Liam chatted with Milo, but Dalton was too busy trying to stop hyperventilating and not staring at Liam’s body, seeing it as he last saw it—wet and tense, excited and looking sinful in that shower cubicle. Those types of thoughts weren’t going to help him calm down. Why oh why did that have to happen?

Blue leaned in, calming strokes running up and down Dalton’s back, sweetly spoken words whispered against his neck, and Dalton’s tension eased a little. “Is he an ex or something?”

“No,” Dalton choked out.

“Oh, I just thought there was some history there.” Blue’s glossy red lips curled into a smile.

“There’s no history of that kind.”

“But there is some to speak about?” Blue opened his green eyes wider and nodded. “It’s obvious. Maybe it’s time you resolved this tension between the two of you somehow.”

“What?” Dalton stiffened.

“Well, there’s obviously something happening between you two.”

“Yeah, but not what you think.”

Blue bit his lip while he thought. “Hmm, there’s a few different things going on from where I’m sitting.” He nudged his thigh against Dalton’s dick, and for the first time, he realised he was excited. “Or is this for me?”

Dalton truly had no idea. He was confused by his own body, not understanding why he was reacting at all. But it had happened in the showers while he watched Liam. Maybe it was those moments replaying in his mind which caused his cock to stiffen in his jeans.

Maybe it was the fact he had someone sitting on him, caring about him, someone with long legs and big heels, who was wearing make-up and who was confusing Dalton’s body by being more feminine than he was used to in a man. But then, Dalton was close to Samuel. He was beautiful and more feminine than Blue and this had never happened, and hadn’t Samuel been sitting on his knee earlier? Maybe he was losing his mind. Maybe he’d already lost it.

“I don’t… I really don’t know,” he whispered into Blue’s hair. “I just… I have to go.”

“Wait, sexy.” Blue pressed his body more into his, meeting his eyes, those black lashes coated thickly in mascara. “Don’t run off just yet. There’s no need.”

“I’m not gay,” Dalton rushed out as low as he could make his voice, darting his gaze to Liam, his tight V-necked vest showing off those big muscles, jeans encasing his firm arse, that bottle hanging in between his lips.

This time, when Blue rubbed his thigh over his cock, Dalton grabbed Blue’s slender calf running up his leg and just held it, not moving him away but not pulling him closer—just frozen, not knowing what to do.

“You don’t have to label yourself with anything, Dalton.” Blue took hold of his chin, fingertips gently caressing his skin and making Dalton shift his gaze from Liam back to him. “I think…” He eased closer still, his thigh now pressed against the rigid length encased in Dalton’s jeans. “If your body needs something, it lets you know. If your eyes find something pleasing, they look more. If your heart beats faster for someone, then you follow it. I’m not gay. I’m a person. A human being. That’s the label I want to be tagged with. Hashtag Human.” He clicked his fingers with a bright smile.

Dalton smiled through his fear and understood what Blue was saying. He just wasn’t ready to think the same way. “That’s nice.”

“It’s the truth. The truth is always a good thing. I always think our brains confuse us. They have all this bullshit ‘learned’ behaviour which they pick up over the years and it tells you to think one way, your body saying another. It takes time for those two to work together and come to some sort of an agreement, but we all get there eventually.

Just don’t pressure yourself, hon.” Blue leaned in, kissing the corner of his mouth, Dalton’s cock now crushed against his thigh. “Of course, I would like to think this is for me, but I know better.” Blue pulled back with a heavy sigh. “If you change your mind though…” He winked with a chuckle.

“Blue.” Samuel was beside them, looking between them both. “Dalton’s a bit…” He drifted off, worrying his bottom lip with his teeth, obviously not wanting to spill too much personal info about Dalton’s bad day and emotional state.

“Confused, sweetie?” Blue offered brightly.

“Yeah.” Samuel looked to the sky, then took hold of Blue’s hand. “You go get some air, Dalton.”

Review

FourStarsDetective Milo and fireman Daniel have finally come to the heart-breaking conclusion that they just can’t make a relationship work, no matter how much they love each other.  But when Daniel rescues a beautiful young man from a fire, both men are instinctively pulled to Samuel.

With a dangerous mafia crew chasing him and a world of hurt behind him, Sam needs Milo and Daniel’s protection, not their lust or their dysfunctional relationship.   But slowly, the vulnerable, damaged young man brings order to Daniel’s chaos while gently softening Milo’s heart.  Daniel and Milo are brought closer together than ever, but they only work with Samuel in the middle.

Colvilles characters are complex, multi-faceted and infinitely loveable.  Who wouldn’t love a damaged, compassionate wall of muscle?  The sex is seriously hot and the contrast between the two burly alphas and the slight, delicate Samuel is beautiful.

I love the suspense Colville weaves around her characters.  The threat to Samuel becomes more real and more imminent as Milo unravels the truth of his situation.

This story is hot and full of suspense!

Their mouths parted, Daniel moaning as Milo slipped his tongue inside him, teasing him with soft caresses until he plunged deeply into his mouth, fighting with Daniel’s tongue as their bodies began to grind together in that perfect dance. Both were so in tune to the other, both knowing just what to give to drive the other insane with desire.

“I need you, Danny. You can feel how much I need you.” Milo pressed the ridge of his swollen cock against Daniel’s, both groaning as their lengths rubbed against each other. “What I need, I can only get from you. You’re the only one on my mind. Even when I’m alone, you’re the one I see, who I hear with me, who I feel under me, over me, against me. It’s just you, Daniel. It has been for three years. There’s no one else.”

Daniel’s hands were in Milo’s hair, clinging onto him tightly and forcing their mouths to collide again, his hips raising up and crushing their cocks against each other. They were both breathing too fast, their bodies crying out for more when Milo lifted from Daniel’s swollen lips.

“You don’t have to lie to me.” Daniel moaned as Milo worked his hand over his cock, the sweatpants he wore tenting over his length.

“I’m not lying.”

Daniel’s eyes focused more on him, the truth finally seeping through that thick skull of his. “Milo…”

Milo fisted his hand tighter in Daniel’s hair. Seeing him like this turned him on too much. “Tell me what you want.”

Daniel paused, but his body rose up to Milo’s, begging for what it needed before he could say the words. “I need you inside me.” Continue reading
