Author Name & Publisher: Toni Griffin (Narrator: Dominic M. McCartney) – Mischief Corner Books
Publication Date & Length:April 2016 – Approx 5 Hours

Jason Matthew’s is a broken man. He’s lived through hell and barely come out the other side. All he can think about is getting to his best friend, Brian, after that he has no idea. Jason’s scared out of his mind when he’s met by not only Brian but two large men as well, he does the only thing he can think to do. He tries to run. One of the men, though, turns out to be his mate. A mate he is in no condition to have or want, a mate that won’t allow him to flee.

Alex Holland is forced to stand by and watch as Jason is taken to the safest place they know, too scared to be around him. He knows something bad has happened to Jason and he’s going to need every ounce of his Alpha control to give his mate the time he needs to heal and start living again.

This was a much more angsty and sad book than the first book. There is a lot more going on outside of the relationship. The fact that Jason has been kicked out because he’s gay and had an incident happen that messed him up in the first place that caused everyone to find out is the beginning of it. Then we have the person behind the crime… Then there is the over protective alpha.
It was just a great story to watch unfold and watch the characters bloom and develop as they find their way with each other.
I have to say that I enjoyed for once seeing mates that were fated to be together and knew that they wanted to be together, but were also willing to do the work they needed to in order for it to be a healthy relationship.
The narrator did a good job with this book as well as the first one.

1) Can you describe in detail what your writing environment is like?

My living room. LOL. I sit in a white leather recliner, feet up. I have a small square table to my left, which holds my large glass on water as I write. My kitchen is just round the corner on the right for when I need to re fuel.

2) Is there one of your characters that you relate to (from any of your works)? Why?

There’s actually a little of me in most of my characters, from my hate of coffee, to my love of cooking, I even had one of my characters doing my EDJ in a story.

3) If you couldn’t be an author, what would you do instead?

Go crazy from all the voices in my head.

4) Is there anything that you learned during the writing process that you wish you had known before hand?

Editing is a bitch!

5) Is there anything that you wish you could change about your book now that it is out?

I wish I could say no, but I added over 100k to my Holland Bothers series when I had the opportunity to re publish them.

6) How do you come up with new ideas for your story?

It really could be anything, from a music video to witnessing something on the way home from a dinner one night. Brain storming with friends is another one that gets the ideas flowing.

7) What’s next for you as a writer?

More books. LOL

8) Where do you live? Do you think this influences how or what you write?

Definitely. I live in Australia and I love writing books that showcase the country I’m from. I also like writing in the Australian voice, I have trouble not writing Aussie when I’m setting a book in the US.

9) What is your favorite genre outside of the one you write in? Why?

I write across sub several genres, so I cover a lot of ground. I love to read just about everything.

10) Do you have any vices? Shoes, coffee, shopping…etc?

Food is probably my biggest vice. I can’t stand coffee, and my feet are too big to have a shoe voice. LOL

Toni Griffin lives in Darwin, the smallest of Australia’s capital cities. Born and raised in the state she’s a Territorian through and through. Growing up Toni hated english with a passion (as her editors can probably attest to) and found her strength lies with numbers.

Now, though, she loves escaping to the worlds she creates and hopes to continue to do so for many years to come. She’s a single mother of one and works full time. When she’s not writing you can just about guarantee that she will be reading one of the many MM authors she loves.
