Welcome to the world of Bay West Social.
Twenty-something Meg McTiernan is all about her career when her house hunt unexpectedly lands her at Bay West—a lesbian mecca tucked away in the suburbs of NYC—and her social life is given a turbo boost. There’s a pool, a softball league, even a nightclub practically in her backyard. In this loaded environment, finding the right girl just got a lot more interesting.
Case in point: law student Lexi Russo grew up at Bay West and is about to start an internship at the law firm of another local, self-assured, sexy Jesse Ducane. Lexi’s had a crush on Jesse forever, but Jesse’s the one Bay West woman she can’t possibly have. And not just because she’s her boss.
Together, new friends Meg and Lexi navigate romances, fun flirtations, juicy gossip, tons of drama, and maybe just the right amount of true love.
After a bad break up Meg moved to Bay West, a lesbian community in Staten Island. This is the perfect place for a new start, amongst like-minded women. A great social life beckons and Meg slowly becomes involved and makes friends, with the help of her cute next-door neighbour Lexi. Lexi is a new intern at Jesse’s law firm and has a secret crush on her boss.
The book tells the story of a large group of ladies, young, old, married, single. There are also families in the community. I found the descriptions of the development wonderful, Staten Island itself and the lives lead by the various women we meet fascinating. Lexi was a lovely character, sweet and young and full of insecurities. Her feelings for Jesse were so powerful, I wanted them to make it! Jesse was not the ice queen I first thought and I really grew to like her.
The steamy scenes were very well written and so hot! They were true and a natural part of the character’s stories.
I am so glad that this is the first in a series set in Staten island. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and am desperate to find out more about Jesse, Lexi, Meg and their friends.
