Title: Dead End (Duncan Andrews Thriller #4)
Author Name & Publisher: Stephen Osborne (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: August 25, 2014 – 200 pgs
Duncan Andrews’s best friend Gina is a witch, his bulldog Daisy is a zombie, and his boyfriend Robbie is a ghost. Duncan himself is just your average private detective, who happens to specialize in paranormal cases.
Robbie’s cousin, Jason, has a problem. The house he’s living in is haunted by the ghost of serial killer Dr. Stanley Moore. Duncan thinks banishing the spirit will be an easy task, but when confronted, the ghost nearly kills Duncan.
If that’s not bad enough, a witch-hunting group called the Order of Cotton Mather have tracked Gina down and are bent on destroying her. And Robbie and Duncan’s relationship may be nearing an end, as Robbie feels he’s holding Duncan back from having a lover he can actually touch.
Duncan must rid Jason’s house of the evil Dr. Moore, save Gina, and somehow manage to hold onto Robbie in the process.
This book was such a good addition to this series! This is not a stand alone you need to read the three books before this book first.
So in this book Duncan the supernatural private investigator gets a call from Robbie’s cousin about having a poltergeist in his house. Robbie who is Duncan’s boyfriend who died 10 years ago is still by his side but has decided on a day he will be moving on and Duncan his having a hard time accepting this.
Along with everything going on a evil ghost and facing not having Robbie by his side anymore Duncan has found out something about Gina’s boyfriend. Lets just say it is not good news at all.
Something happened right before the end of this book that had tears in my eyes while reading that part. I felt so bad for Duncan.. But the ending of this book was amazing and I went from feeling so sad for Duncan to feeling so happy for him. I have to the ending of this book was just so good and fit this series so well.
You see all the characters from the previous books in this one too which I have to say I loved seeing more of Gina, Nick and Daisy the zombie dog. You also get the action and mystery with this book which will have you sitting on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who this evil spirit was.
I have to say I loved the way this author wrote these characters and this paranormal world!
So all together I really loved this book!
I would definitely 100% recommend this series!
I first fell in love at the age of 9. Her name was Alexandra Moltke, and she played Victoria Winters on the soap opera Dark Shadows. Yes, I was one of those kids who ran home from school to watch Barnabas and the other spooky people on that show. I obviously never lost my love for the macabre, and it turns up often in my writing.
I graduated from Purdue University and went on to manage a pizza restaurant. I also worked in bookstores for many years, and I joined an improvisational comedy troupe and did that for nearly a decade. I now work in a food packaging plant, testing the product before it goes onto the lines…so I basically bake brownies for a living. Someone has to do it.
Even though I write about ghosts, zombie bulldogs, and impulsive college students, some of my real life seeps into my writing every now and then. I’m not saying which bits, but there’s a scene in a bedroom in Pop Goes the Weasel which still brings back painful memories…
