Title: Alexey Dyed in Red (Zhakieve #1)
Author Name & Publisher: A.M. Valenza (Less Than Three Press)
Publication Date: November 11, 2015
A century has passed since warlock Alexey arrived in Kalinstad, chased across the ocean and dying from fever. His memories of what brought him to such a state were lost; since then he passed his days quietly, buried deep in the snowy mountains in a place rarely visited by outsiders.
His life of peace is brought to a sudden halt with the arrival of two Darkrow, sent by the Blue Emperor to unravel a mystery they will not explain. More than mere Darkrow, they are demons, dangerous and cold, but also beautiful and fascinating in the way they touch and cling and silently watch.
When they offer Alexey a chance to become a Darkrow, he accepts—and his whole world falls apart.
This book… OMG this book was so good!!!
Okay I am a huge horror movie fan and I love all things fantasy so when I read this book and realized it was like a horror wrapped around fantasy I just was in awe of how amazing this world the author created was.
So let me explain while I felt this book was equal mixtures of both horror and fantasy. I am not trying to spoil this book at all, this is just one of the many things that made me pause and think WTH! There may of been mention of eating another warlock bone and all to gain more power as a warlock… Um no words for how creepy and gross, just ewe. So while trying to wrap my mind around all that weirdness I get hit with a whole bunch more parts that had me stunned and thinking WTH was that lol.
This book was just so outside what I would normally read and I am not saying that in a bad way at all.
You get a some romance between these three and very little steam but that is okay because everything that goes along with this story just grabs you and does not let you go.
I absolutely love all things warlocks and magical with worlds you would never had thought of before and you definitely get that with this book! But you also get the strange and kind of graphic that you would also get with a horror book which I loved also.
You get Porfiry and Vasiliy who are two demons who are always are touching each other then they meet Alexey and they add him to their always touching which was cute. But I do not want to give away anymore of this book. This is one you definitely should read for yourself.
So all together I loved this book!
I would recommend this book!
