Title: The Heart of Frost (North Pole City Tales #2)
Author Name & Publisher: Charlie Cochet (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: December 18, 2013 – 120 pgs
At the North Pole, no one is more powerful and feared than the Prince of Frost. As general of the toy soldier army, Jack Frost has been working extra hard to put away the villainous Mouse King once and for all. If that isn’t taxing enough, Jack has to deal with the scandal and gossip brought on by news of his relationship with Rudy Rein Dear, captain of the Rein Dear Squadron, which hit headlines last holiday season. Lucky for Jack, his reputation has managed to deter any foolish attempts to stir up trouble. At least until now.
When someone sabotages Rudy’s plane during a test run a few weeks before Christmas, Jack is determined to find the culprit by any means necessary. The closer he gets to finding answers, the more difficulty he has not falling back to his icy ways. Has the Mouse King stepped up his game in order to throw Jack off his, or is someone a little closer to home behind the attempt on Rudy’s life? Either way, Jack has every intention of delivering a Christmas they won’t soon forget, even if it means losing the newfound warmth in his heart.
This book was such a good addition to this series!
So with this book you get Rudy who works for Santa as a part of his rein dear squad. Well he has fallen in love with Jack Frost but there is someone out there who does not like them being together so he tries hurting Rudy which sends Jack of into a tailspin of darkness. Rudy has to save Jack from his frozen heart.
This book was just so cute and sweet because you could feel the love between these two from the start. They have so much against them though with Jack being a prince and Rudy working for Santa. I loved the way they were together. I have to be honest going into this series I was unsure on how I would like these books because although I like sweet books sometimes they can be too sweet for me. Well the way the author wrote this book with the perfect amount of sweet and action. Let’s just say I was drawn in from the beginning of this story and could not put it down!
All together I really loved this book!
I really enjoyed this addition to the story. We still get to see the characters from the first story, but we get to know more about Jack and Rudy’s relationship. There is a spin of mystery and suspense and drama that’s all so wonderfully put together!
While there is so much going on, the sweetness of being in the North Pole and how the story is weaved together is just amazing.
However, that being said, I absolutely did not like the narrator, not for his voice, but there were numerous errors in the audiobook that I have to mark down the entire review because of it. The narrator gets 3 stars while the story gets 5 stars.
