Synopsis

What starts out as a one-night stand ends up changing two men forever.

Joaquin Almodovar has been disowned by his family and shot by a mad man. To say that he’s had a few bad months would be an understatement. When he finds out he can’t be the vaquero he’s always been due to the extent of his injuries, Joaquin is even more lost than ever.

He might be the best-lookin’ man at the Mossy Glenn, according to Hector and the others, but that doesn’t make Joaquin a man at all. Not when he can’t cowboy up like he used to. Learning that there’s more to him than the job he’s always loved isn’t easy, and Joaquin’s not a hundred percent certain he’s up to the task. In fact, he’s lost so much faith in himself that he doesn’t know what or who to believe in anymore.

Time heals all wounds, the saying goes, but it sure doesn’t seem to be doing much to heal Joaquin. It’ll take the help of a man he shouldn’t trust to learn that there’s more to himself than how well he sits a saddle, and how good he is with a rope.

Reader Advisory: This book contains references to domestic abuse and child abuse, and the backstory involves kidnapping and enslavement.

ThreeandHalfStars

Yay, another Mossy Glenn Ranch novel!
Book 8 is about Joaquin, he’s the one who got shot in the last novel by this crazy kidnapper.  This is his story and the guy he falls for is Sebastian, the boy who had been kidnapped, escaped and found at the Mossy Glenn ranch.
This book, compared to the other in the series, was just okay for me. I liked it, but I wasn’t as into it as the others. Joaquin was really sweet to Sebastian, even when Sebastian had lied to him during their first meeting. Sebastian didn’t give Joaquin his full name when they hooked up because he was scared that Joaquin would pity him and not want to be with him.
There was no action in this book. Just a sweet, mellow plot about two guys falling in love even when the thing that brought them together wasn’t such a pleasant experience. In book 8, the guy who kidnapped Sebastian was already found dead, an accident, but I wish that he was alive so he could bring in some kind of action plot to the book.
I was actually kinds disappointed, but I love reading this series enough to wait for book 9. Sometimes there are just hit and misses.

FiveStarsWith this book we get Joaquin who was shot trying to save a man. The injury is very painful for him and also may cause him a lifetime of not being able to do what he has before. So he goes to PT to try and get back into the shape he was before the shooting but little does he know that he has a stalker following him around. Someone who feels truly bad for what Joaquin has had happened to him due to the shooting.

I will not say the other MC’s name due to not wanting to spoil this book for anyone else. Let me say I loved the way this author wrote these characters and this story.

You get steam with this book but you also get angst and sweet too!

So all together I really loved this story and these two MC’s!
I would definitely recommend this book!

A few things about me…

I am a married mom of four who spends most of the day writing, either on stories or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick and irritate me.

And it’s really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I’ll just let y’all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there’s something specific you’d like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio:D
