Title: The Trouble With Mr. Midwest
Author Name: T. Neilson
Publication Date & Length: May 6, 2015 – 116pgs
Riley Black is finally the rising Hollywood star he’s always dreamed of being. While his past growing up in the midwest wasn’t perfect, he’s built a reputation for clean living that the press would love to tear apart. Now with his high school sweetheart, Quinn Campbell, back in Riley’s life, things could get sticky.
Riley’s not out—to the public or his family—and Quinn’s an escort with a secret… one Quinn’s afraid will break Riley’s heart. Once all this gets out, the press is going to love it.
I really enjoyed the way Riley and Quinn came together. The hint of a secret was intriguing through out the story what with Brandon and Quinn’s PTSD and Riley not being out.
However, I have to admit that I felt like the Brandon situation didn’t work… Yes, I think if he had something bigger and more harmful against him, it would’ve worked and there was a bit of twist there that totally surprised me. Yet, I don’t think someone would do what Quinn was forced to do for the secret.
I also think with Riley becoming a bigger star, he would’ve been in the papers long before he was with Quinn.
Over all though I have to say I did enjoy the story. I liked the way the story flowed and the characters developed through it. There was only one sexy scene (that I can remember) but it was super hot and made me wish there’d been more.
