Title: Solider Boys (Scarcity Sanctuary #9)
Author Name & Publisher: AKM Miles (MLR Press)
Publication Date & Length: October 29, 2015 – 50 pgs
Can you say Halloween shocker? Dillon is almost afraid for Soldier to get home on Halloween and see the surprise waiting for him. Like, really, afraid. It’s going to be a wild holiday for the Scarcity crew. And poor Bart. Yeah, he’s got heartache written all over him and Soldier and Dillon don’t know if they can help with his problem, which, of course, tears them apart, too. All in all, it’s going to be very eventful, to say the least. And, who gets the best quote of the book? Officer Jansen.
This was a quick, sweet story about a family that not only cares deeply for each other, but for others – strangers as well. It has all the makings of a great snippet – a glimpse into the lives of Dillon and Bart, together with their children. I love how the boys are so sweet and lovable, but not without learning to trust and know that no matter what, Soldier and Dillon will love them.
The scene in the nursing home was adorable, as well as the fiasco in the bathroom – you just had to chuckle.
Then you have Bart and I really hope that I get to see his story develop.
I should say that I have not read the previous books in this series, so I felt somewhat lost, but it was not anything that would have stopped me from reading and understanding that this is a story about family.
