Author Name & Publisher: R. Cooper (Dreamspinner Press)

On the run from his old-blood werewolf family, Tim Dirus finds himself in Wolf’s Paw, one of the last surviving refuges from the days when werewolves were hunted by humans and one of the last places Tim wants to be. Kept away from other wolves by his uncle, Tim knows almost nothing about his own kind except that alpha werewolves only want to control and dominate a scrawny wolf like him.
Tim isn’t in Wolf’s Paw an hour before he draws the attention of Sheriff Nathaniel Neri, the alphaest alpha in a town full of alphas. Powerful, intimidating, and the most beautiful wolf Tim has ever seen, Nathaniel makes Tim feel safe for reasons Tim doesn’t understand. For five years he’s lived on the run, in fear of his family and other wolves. Everything about Wolf’s Paw is contrary to what he thought he knew, and he is terrified. Fearing his mate will run, Sheriff Nathaniel must calm his little wolf and show him he’s more than a match for this big, bad alpha.

While I liked this book, I just did not love it!  Let me tell you why…
Tim was cute and sassy with a sarcastic mouth at first I really liked his charatcer… Then it became a constant thing through the whole book, then him calling  Nathaniel names all the time it got to the point that it was beyond annoying.  I think if it had not been through the whole book I would have 100% loved this book.  But please don’t get me wrong I love a sassy, sarcastic character, just in small doses..
Nathaniel character was awesome for everything he put up with from Tim.  He was so kind and caring I honestly felt bad for him having to put up with everything that came of Tim’s mouth.  He is the Alpha/sheriff of Wolf’s Paw the town they live in.  When he first laid eyes on Tim he knew right away that he was his mate.  Unfortunately it took Tim the almost the whole book to figure that out and he is a shifter too.  That was a little irritating especially after what happened between Tim and someone else at about 50% I was not a huge fan of that at all.

I did like most of this book.. Those parts did knock it down for me but otherwise it was a really good book.  You see them grow as a couple and you also get your bad guy.

So all together I really liked this book, I just did not love some parts of this book.

I write strange but shiny things, like steampunk spies and detectives, and pirates, and cowboys, and dragons, and fairies, firebirds, and, well honestly, even my stories set in the here and now are a little broken and weird too. Because I am a messed up weirdo and that’s who I like to write about.

I fall in love with my characters when I’m writing them, so I have a lot of self-written fanfiction about them that uh…I really have no excuse for, but oh my god how cute are they?

You can find all that and a lot more at my livejournal. (Which is, incidentally, where I am originally writing the blog posts that repost over here at Goodreads.)
