Synopsis

Will Tanner realize he’s wrong and claim his mate before Finley’s devotion is gone?

Finley Cooper is tired of waiting for his destined mate to be ready to claim him. In deference to human laws, he’s already agreed to wait until he’s eighteen. But now his birthday has come and gone—and his mate has a new set of excuses. Finley doesn’t understand it any more than his wolf does, and he’s beginning to wonder if fate made a mistake.

Tanner Pearce wants nothing more than to claim his mate, but he worries that Finley is too young. Tanner will never forget what happened when his best friend mated at Finley’s age, only to have that mate end up feeling trapped and breaking their bond. While rare, it can happen, and the fallout Tanner witnessed as his best friend tried to deal with the break has haunted him for years.

When Finley finally has enough, he threatens to find someone who will claim him if Tanner doesn’t, and Tanner realizes he needs to come to terms with his fears or risk losing his mate forever.

The synopsis of this book caught my attention from the start and the high expectations I went into reading it holding were well deserved. These characters and their lives were rich and well plotted. Tanner and his hang-ups left me rolling my eyes and wanting to smack him upside the head (my grandpa would call it a reboot!) while I sympathized totally with his counterpart, Finley. The dynamics displayed between the main characters and their supporting cast was believable and made me root for them as they each expressed their opinions and feelings.
The romance was beautifully executed and I felt every up and down the main characters were put through. Lovely plot, amazing characters and a wonderfully rounded story make me likely to recommend this to all my friends!

4 “Bring on the WOLF’ Stars!

This is my first time reading Grace R. Duncan. I started out sort of not really liking the main characters. They were immature and bickered often. I almost didn’t continue… and then they shifted… into wolves!!!!!!! And I was HOOKED! I LOVE shifter stories that contain the shifting and interaction as wolves. There is something very primal about wolves. Some pretty hot scenes between the characters!!!
Then I realized that not every story can start out with happy, go-lucky characters that we love from the start. Most times, we don’t like them or love them. A sign of a good author is when they can show you the characters evolving. Grace R. Duncan did this. She brought me back around. I enjoyed this Journey with Tanner and Finley. I also realized that life isn’t perfect and so it shouldn’t always be perfect in books! Some pretty hot scenes between the main characters!!!
Hats off to Grace R. Duncan.
I would read the next one in the series, Jamie and Chad!!

So I have always have been a fan of Shifter books and this one while I liked it.. I just did not love it.
Finely I think brought this book down for me.. He wanted his mate to claim him, was mad Tanner thought he was not mature enough yet.  Well I have to say I agree with Tanner on this one because it felt too much like he was throwing a tantrum when he did not get his way.  Ran away and did something that really was not cool but expected everyone to just be ok with it.  He really came of as a spoiled kid to me, not a mature adult at all.
I did like Tanner and did like most of this book.  It was mostly just those parts when he acted like he did that I was not a fan of.

Grace Duncan grew up with a wild imagination. She told stories from an early age – many of which got her into trouble. Eventually, she learned to channel that imagination into less troublesome areas, including fanfiction, which is what has led her to writing male/male erotica.

A gypsy in her own right, Grace has lived all over the United States. She has currently set up camp in East Texas with her husband and children – both the human and furry kind.

As one of those rare creatures who loves research, Grace can get lost for hours on the internet, reading up on any number of strange and different topics. She can also be found writing fanfiction, reading fantasy, crime, suspense, romance and other erotica or even dabbling in art.
