Not sure where I want to start.  The story kept me from putting the book down.   At first I thought that it started out slowly, but I found the writing was so good, that I couldn’t put it down till I was done. It ended up being a very fast read.
I liked Dallas so much in the story, having to deal with losing his dad and dealing with a horrible sister.  I felt so bad for him, he had hard life, seemed very lonely, it just drew you to him. I didn’t like his sister Dorcas, she didn’t want anything to do with Dallas and was very bitter.  But I’m  sure that’s what the author was going for.  Then there was Dallas’s friend DuWayne, some people never change he was proof of that.
Even though I found the book a good read, I was disappointed in the ending, that’s not the way I wanted it to end.
