With one revelation, her world will shift forever. “Rebecca has everything she ever dreamed of in life: a family, a beautiful home and good friends. When Callie moves into the house across the street, Rebecca is quick to welcome the young writer into the tightly-knit community of Autumn Leaves. She has no idea that Callie will confront her with a truth about herself she might not be ready to face.

All Callie wanted was to flee the big city and finish her latest book in peace, but life in the small town comes with unexpected temptation and danger.”

This was a love story that expressed the feelings of the characters well. The story never left you feeling bored with the book. It had so many drastic events that I found I was switching which characters I liked best for each event.
The dad was a man who wasn’t there for his family for so many years until the unthinkable happened.  Rebecca,  the mother, was so consumed with her neighbor Callie, that she was willing to give everything up that she had with her family. At times she seemed so strong, yet there were times she was so wishy washy back and forth.  Callie was the neighbor who knew who she was, but was troubled over past  experiences and struggled throughout.
The only thing I thought missing, there was a point when a new character was introduced for the dad, but nothing was said more than her name. There was so much about every other character, but that was just dropped, I would have liked to have read  more about that.
I enjoyed reading Autumn Leaves and would enjoy more by this author.

A psychologist/trauma counselor by training, Barbara Winkes left her native Germany to live with her wife in Québec City. Telling stories has always been her passion. She loves to write suspense and romance with female protagonists who try to solve the puzzle of their love life, a murder case, or sometimes, both.

Lesbian fiction with high drama and happy endings:

Barbara’s debut novel “Autumn Leaves” and the follow-up, “Winter Storm”, published by Eternal Press, tell the love story between two women in a small town, where neighbors take an interest in the life of others. The thriller “Secrets” followed November 2013.

2014 releases will include “Spring Fever”, book three in the series about Callie and Rebecca, and the standalone romance “The Interpretation of Love and the Truth”.
