TWO 4 and TWO 5 star reviews for Forgive and Forget by Charlie Cochet @charliecochet #MM #Romance #contemporary @Dreamspinners

Title: Forgive and Forget
Author Name & Publisher: Charlie Cochet (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: April 1, 2016 — 194 Pages

He’s hot. He’s dangerous. And he can’t remember anything.

As the owner of Apple’n Pies, Joe Applin leads a quiet, uneventful life, content to spend his days serving customers who come from all over to eat his delicious homemade pies. Along with his motley crew—Bea, Elsie, and Donnie—Joe couldn’t be happier in his little kingdom of baked goods and java.

Experience has taught Joe that love is overrated—and at times dangerous. He has no intention of repeating past mistakes. But then he meets a mysterious, handsome man with amnesia, and Joe can’t deny something sweet is in the works. He isn’t one to take risks, not with his heart and certainly not with his life, but the more time he spends with the man he knows as Tom, the closer he is to losing both.

Charlie Cochet seemed an unlikely fit for the new Dreamspinners desires books.  And even though this story about the owner of a pie shop is sweeter and fluffier than anything else I’ve read by Charlie Cochet, she still manages to add in some beefy FBI agents, a gun fight, a police chase…

So, by the halfway point, this this is more of a typical Charlie Cochet story and much less of an m/m Harlequin romance.  Her writing, as always, is flawless and her characters – from Joe’s sixty-year old mentor to his flamboyant producer friends – are colourful and engaging, if a little more earnest and grown up than her THIRDS characters.

While this is much lighter than the THIRDS series, I enjoyed the more realistic mix of romance and action.  Charlie Cochet is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.  THIRDS fans shouldn’t be put off by the Harlequin-style cover because I’m not sure Charlie Cochet will ever be able to sustain sweet and cliched for an entire book.  I’m guessing there will always be guns and fight scenes in her books- and I like that just fine.

I really love this new Dreamspun Desires series. They fall in line with the Harlequin Desires series and don’t have the hard core sex scenes (that does not mean no sex) it’s just a little more touching and most of its off page. In this book we meet Joe and Tom who had lost his memory. I really loved the secondary characters especially Bea and Donnie. I do have to say that Joe sometimes appeared much younger but I was able to overlook that and really enjoy the story. I’ve read books from this author before and Charlie Cochet was able to get me from the beginning in this wonderful romance.

Wow.. what a great story. There was a really sweet romance mixed in
with some action and adventure too.

As usual, Charlie Cochet rocked my socks off with how intricate this
story was. There was so much going on, but it didn’t always seem like
it. The main characters build a relationship as they try to deal with
‘Tom’ having amnesia. Then there is the how and why of Tom’s
appearance and the way it happened.

I loved that the pie shop was the main location of the story as it
means so much to Joe. It’s hard to say too much about what happens
without giving away the secrets of the story, but it was a great read.
Really captured me and had me desperate to know what was going on with

This was such a sweet story of true human compassion. Joe shows that compassion in spades towards everyone he meets. Even though “Tom” has amnesia and at first looks to be from the wrong side of the tracks, Joe is there to help. “Tom” knows his inner self and shows Joe just that. While these two get to know each other, something is building between the two, and when Joe and “Tom” find out who “Tom” is, nothing can stop the stronghold of their hearts. I found myself rooting for “Tom” to find out who he was and hoping he was the good guy in the end that Joe deserved.

The secondary cast of characters was definitely a motley crew, and they all add their flavor of spices to the story. Just be forewarned, with this story primarily taking place at Apple’n Pies bakery, you will develop a sweet tooth from all the pies.

The recipe of tasting what you see adds to depth of emotion you will feel while reading through to the end….happiness.
