Synopsis

He demands his submissive’s body and soul…but can he accept his sub’s heart?

Roddy Green never planned to fall in love and certainly not with his Dom, but every time he goes into Darkness, a fetish club, he falls for Vegas all over again. Being in love isn’t the same as being loved in return. Vegas is there to do a job—not to build a romance. But what if the main constant in Roddy’s life is the one person he can’t live without?

Andrew Vegas knows his job. He’s a Dom. But there is more than one side to him and he’s tired of keeping the other parts of him hidden. One man makes him feel safe and comfortable enough to open up—his pet, Roddy. But will Roddy, the producer of a local news broadcast, want to be with a man with secrets?

FourStars

I really enjoyed Roddy and Andrew’s character.  Each had their own unique twist which really helped their relationship blossom.  I hated that they each felt that they needed to hide themselves from their friends.  It made me so sad that people’s prejudices prevented them each from finding their place for so long. While this book’s relationship status went from part-time lover to full blown boyfriend material in a very short time, I did not feel that they were truly boyfriends throughout.  It felt almost as if only after they figured out their own situation did they really feel like a couple.  I would have liked them to lean on each other more.  However, I did like that Andrew was not all domineering and overpowering in the story.  I liked that you got to witness his self-doubt and worry.  Too often the Doms in books have no worries, which in turn, for me, makes them feel too fake. The chemistry between Roddy and Andrew was off the charts and I loved the power exchanges that developed in to their tender relationship.

I really enjoyed this story.

This book really didn’t hold any surprises or suspense. It was kind of dull in my opinion. We get dropped into the middle of a BDSM relationship without any backstory and the couple is both suddenly wanting more even though they’ve been playing together for two years and neither had wanted anything more before then.
There was only a tiny amount of BDSM in the book, which I didn’t particularly understand since they were supposed to be in a BDSM relationship and needing that to be part of any relationship that would work long term.
However, the book was well written and I didn’t have a problem reading it, just felt like there was a lot left to be explained between the two characters.

AuthorBio

When she’s not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don’t seem to mind.
When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school.

She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best.
