Synopsis

Never judge a sexy man by his cover.

Detective Beau Williams is hardworking, dedicated and professional. He enjoys the finer things in life, but with his heavy caseload that includes what Beau suspects is a new serial killer, he has no time to enjoy much of anything. What the tall redhead needs is someone to shake him up a little.

Investigative Technician Austin Kent never met a snarky joke he didn’t like—or a set of stairs that couldn’t trip him up. One night after a devastating episode at work, Austin sees something else he likes—the handsome detective he’s seen around the station whom he’s always wondered about. But after he makes a drunken fool of himself in front of Detective Williams, he’s sure there’s no hope.

Beau and Austin’s worlds collide when Austin is sent to pick up some evidence at the station. Amidst a myriad of twists and turns in the troubling serial killer-style murders of Vegas conventioneers, Austin and Beau discover that there’s more to the other than they’d originally thought. There might even be more they’d like to give—unless the killer has the final say.

FiveStars

Morticia Knight has taken us back to Las Vegas with her hot alpha males.  This book had an excellent thriller story to it about a serial killer.  Once I started I was hooked and didn’t put it down until I was done.  The story flowed very smoothly and even had a bit of humor added in.

Loved Beau he was confident, strong and a very good detective who was always in charge.  Austin had very low self esteem, liked to crack jokes to make himself feel comfortable, but was a sweet loving guy.  The two of them were complete opposites, but I thought they worked together really well as a couple.

Even though this is book 3 in the series, it could easily be read as a stand alone.  I have enjoyed this series so far and look forward to more.  They are quick reads that are very enjoyable.  Definitely a must read!!!

Another amazing book by Morticia. I love the way the characters came to be and the way they slowly opened up to each other through various events and encounters.
I did feel as though the crime side of things was heavy in the beginning and then became a back seat for most of the middle only to come back and be wrapped up. Or at least for Austin. Beau was always working and I felt for the man as he was under so much stress from work and handling a string of murders.
All in all, a great read by Morticia and I can’t wait for the next one.

Austin’s life is messy and he isn’t very good at relationships. Working as an Investigative Technician at the DA’s office, he watches a childhood friend die. While drinking away his pain, he runs into beautiful, uptight homocide detective, Beau Williams.

Even though Beau is chasing a serial killer, he finds time to explore the attraction he feels for Austin. But soon both men become embroiled in the search for a deluded mass murderer.

This is a great murder mystery and a great romance. Beau and Austin wear against each other beautifully. As the relationship progresses, Beau starts to become a little less pretentious – and Austin starts to get himself together.

I love Vegas for the book’s setting. I love the characters, and I love the way Morticia Knight continues to give more depth to her characters as the story unravells.

I recommend this for those who enjoy a bit of murder with their romance.
