Synopsis

When fiery passion can turn on a dime, how far would you dare to gamble your heart?

When proof of a college indiscretion comes back to haunt her, Hazel’s whole world threatens to crumble under the threat of discovery.

Recently tangled in a three-way relationship with her best friend’s one-time lover and his prickly roommate should’ve turned Hazel’s hair prematurely gray. Sure, it’s not the sweeping fairy tale romance she might have imagined as a little girl, but it might just be the next best thing. Dylan and Ward are not only the right blend of domineering and considerate, they also seem eager to treat Hazel to a comfortable life. Whether it’s in the bedroom or the playroom, they are devoted to her pleasure and enthusiastic to help enact her deepest, darkest fantasies.

But while navigating the uncertain waters of such a complicated arrangement proves easier than expected, other areas of Hazel’s life aren’t so well anchored. As she struggles to keep a shameful secret that could irrevocably change the way Dylan and Ward see her, the tethers of the past call Hazel to home and hearth and the artful lure of an old flame.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of bondage, BDSM and impact play, as well as a scene of rape fantasy.

ThreeandHalfStars

This was a really interesting story about a three way relationship (MFM). While I really enjoyed the play between the three main characters, I felt like Hazel’s past was played up a bit and then not fully explained. I understood it was a video and it was naughty, but I didn’t get why she was so afraid of Malcolm or what exactly it was on the video that she was embarrassed about (besides the fact that it was a sex tape)
I would’ve loved to have had a few more BDSM scenes between the trio as we got to know their dynamic more since the only one that was really kinky was the first scene in the book.
However, all that said, I really enjoyed the way the men interacted with her and tried to take care of her when she’d let them along with the personal crisis she was trying to be strong and handle on her own.
The writing was superb, but I would’ve like a bit more expansion on her history with Malcolm and Penelope… and what had gone on with her and Ward…. and what was possibly (or not) between Ward and Dylan. However, if this was a series (I’m not sure if it is or isn’t) I would most definitely pick up the next one because there was a lot of mystery left open in their relationship that I’d like to get some answers to.

Hazel is still running from her past mistake. In this installment, I was glad that Blenke shared more of Hazel’s past. I felt that it helped me to understand Hazel that much more.
Ward and Dylan were still their usual selves – this story was more about Hazel and her path to discovering her true self.
I was less than impressed with the support (or lack of support) that Hazel’s family had – her dad – what a spineless worm.  And her mom… holy crap did I want to hit her over the head with a fry-pan to knock some sense in to her!
I was glad that Hazel had Ward and Dylan to help her through her family issues and despite not trusting Dylan with the full story until she absolutely had to – Dylan did not disappoint.  He loves her for her and Ward loves her for her too.
This was a great continuation in their story and I can’t wait for the next book, as more mystery is involved and I love Sadie’s character!
