Bruised from an international public relations nightmare as the new heir to the multi-billion-dollar Han Incorporated, Hyunkyung Han seeks positive publicity in the form of a wedding. She consults with Madame Eve to find a nice, well-behaved Korean American with bilingual and bicultural skills.

Instead, Madame Eve sends Indi, a naïve philosophy major graduate working for minimum wage at the local pub. Enraged to find Indi can’t speak one word of Korean, Hyunkyung orders her sent home on the next plane to Spillville, Iowa.

Then Hyunkyung shakes Indi’s hand, and the sparks fly. With all of her professional responsibilities, how can Hyunkyung allow herself to fall for the wrong woman? How can Indi feel attraction for a woman who despises her?

Review

ThreeStar
I was left confused and fumbling through a lot of this book as the main character is being forced to learn to speak Korean by people repeating the various words at her as she says them back (mostly getting them wrong along with a lot of thought about what other words she thinks about while trying to say them correctly).
Indigo goes to Korean for a ‘job’ because her great aunt pays for her plane ticket, which I find incredibly odd because she’s not going for a job, but to be a bride or at the minimum a date. I know Indi is running away from her ex, but I would still think she’d ask SOME questions before flying out of the country. Sure, it’s not France where she’d rather be going, but there was nothing forcing her to leave the country at the first opportunity either. Not to mention, we never found out who the woman behind it all was, the Madam.
The story is very insta love, which I’m never a fan of. A few spanks and a deep conversation or two does not make love. While some of the spanking were interesting, it seemed to be lacking in emotions and feelings to make it sensual or hot.
However, I would read from this author again because I felt like it was the story and trying to write a story about the location, more than the characters that made it lacking, not the authors talent. Her writing was quite clean and easy to read.
