First, the description is very misleading. Reading it, it leads you to believe that you’d be reading a story about Logan, a down in his luck nurse, and Bradley, a rich business man who needs someone to look after his ailing grandmother. Well, we kinda get that, and don’t.
Everything is in small flashback. When you start reading the story, Logan has already been looking after Bradley’s grandmother for 3 years, and is already in love with Bradley who is only mentioned in flashed backs in about 90% of the very short story. He really didn’t even show up in present-time til the last 15-20 pages of the short novella.
The flash backs were cute, and sweet, but annoying because you feel like you’re reading summaries instead of an actual story. I felt a bit cheated, honestly. I wanted to read about Logan and Bradley meeting and falling in love. I didn’t get that. I didn’t even get to read about the sweet old lady that Logan was charged to look after. I know it’s a short story so things go fast, but there wasn’t any real build up. Most of the book is spent on flashbacks, Logan dealing with Bradley’s relatives and waiting for Bradley to finally show. I was going to give it 2 STARS, but gave it 3 instead because the ending was sweet and it kept me reading til the end even though I was annoyed. Also cause I usually like some of Hurri’s books.

Hi, my name is Hurri Cosmo and I am a happy ending junkie. I always have been. You can be pretty rest assured everything I write will have one. I am not big on angst. I believe we get enough of that in real life so when I go to read something, to make the real world go away for awhile, I will most likely not chose something that will make me cry. So I write for those people who, at least occasionally, feel the same way. I’m okay with the fact I will probably never write anything “important” but I guess I will have to see where my imagination takes me. I would love it if you would come along.
