A Being(s) in Love Story
Arthur MacArthur needs a job, and not just for the money. Before he dropped out of school to support his younger sister, he loved being a research assistant at the university. But working for a dragon, one of the rarest and least understood magical beings, has unforeseen complications. While Arthur may be the only applicant who isn’t afraid of Philbert Jones in his dragon form, the instant attraction he feels for his new employer is beyond disconcerting.
Bertie is a brilliant historian, but he can’t find his own notes without help—his house is a hoard of books and antiques, hence the need for an assistant. Setting the mess to rights is a dream come true for Arthur, who once aspired to be an archivist. But making sense of Bertie’s interest in him is another matter. After all, dragons collect treasure, and Arthur is anything but extraordinary.
So I will start this review by saying this is defiantly a slow burn… So much so that I reall had a hard tine finishing this.
Arthur goes to work for Bertie to try and help him organize all of Bertie’s things because he is a hoarder which is normal for dragon’s
I have always been a huge fan of all things dragons but this book for some reason felt like information overload and it really took me the longest time to finish this.
I did like Arthur and Bertie’s characters so please do not get me wrong and I really liked them together as a couple but for some reason this book just did not grab me..
So I am sad to say this book was just not for me…
I write strange but shiny things, like steampunk spies and detectives, and pirates, and cowboys, and dragons, and fairies, firebirds, and, well honestly, even my stories set in the here and now are a little broken and weird too. Because I am a messed up weirdo and that’s who I like to write about.
I fall in love with my characters when I’m writing them, so I have a lot of self-written fanfiction about them that uh…I really have no excuse for, but oh my god how cute are they?
You can find all that and a lot more at my livejournal. (Which is, incidentally, where I am originally writing the blog posts that repost over here at Goodreads.)
