ONE 5 Star, ONE 4 Star and TWO 3.5 Stars for Timing by Ashley John #MM #Romance @itsashleyjohn

CoverTitle: Timing
Author Name : Ashley John
Publication Date & Length: April 25, 2016 – 312 pgs

Synopsis

When it comes to love, is timing everything?

Tom doesn’t have time for a relationship – not now that his fingers are practically touching the promotion he’s spent years chasing. His weekdays are consumed by desperately fighting for his editor’s attention and his weekends are wasted alone with meals for one and his cat for company.

All Cole has ever wanted is to work on the farm he was raised on, but money is tighter than ever and he is forced to get a job in a bar to keep a roof over him and his auntie’s heads. Time is running out for the farm but he spends his days dreaming about a future he thinks he’ll never have.

After an unexpected collision at the village train station, their lives suddenly become connected when Cole clumsily spills his coffee on Tom and it sets into motion something greater. Tom is wary of listening to his heart and Cole is distracted by the threat of losing everything. Each possesses something the other desperately needs, but can they ignore bad timing to listen to their hearts?

ThreeandHalfStars

I wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t for some reason. Tom just seemed like a jerk who only thought of himself. I instantly loved Cole, how could you not? I loved how dedicated he was to keeping the farm going, doing everything he could to do that. I would have loved to see him in his bar uniform. And Miss Kitty Litter, HA! I bet she was a site to see! It was a sweet love story and wasn’t very angsty, it just wasn’t very exciting either. I loved some of the secondary characters though, they were great and helped the story.

Angie

ThreeandHalfStars

Hmm, I had a tricky time deciding how to rate this. I decided between a 3 and a 4. cause while the story kept my attention, there were times when I wanted to smack the characters too much.
Here we have a cowboy and a businessman. Cole wants nothing more than to save his farm from going under, which it already had. He has to take a bartender job just to make ends meet. Tom works hard in his company and has been waiting to be promoted. He deserves it, but for now, he’s stuck in a rut with only his best friend Ricky, aka Miss Kitty Litter, to whine to.
I liked Cole. He’s a stand up guy willing to do anything to help the farm and his aunt. Tom…Tom I was iffy with. He wanted a promotion, yet he never stood up for himself. Just when he said he wasn’t going to let his boss walk all over him, he does it again. The big blow out at the end could have been avoided easily if he was just truthful.
They get their HEA though. I want Ricky/Kitty Litter to have one too. Book 2?

This was a very sweet story. The name of the book is perfect for the description of this book. Tom and Cole both have the worst of timing. It seems like every time they decide to give things a try together something with the timing is off and interferes with them….well that is until it doesn’t.

My view of Tom is that he is letting life pass him by because he is so focused on his job and trying to get a promotion to editor which seems will not happen. I also think that he is scared that his timing is always wrong when he tries a new relationship. That is why they have always failed. That is until he meets Cole.

Coke in my opinion is a strong individual who is doing everything he can to not lose the one place he calls home, his farm. He knows the place could be something special but I think he lacks the imagination to make it that way or that is until he meets Tom.

These two men are perfect for one another but both have issues they need to work on to make their relationship work. I think that it takes losing one another before they both realize that if u want something it does not always come easy and you have to work for it. That makes those things you fight for that much better and sweeter in the end.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait till I read another book by Ashley John.

FourStars

Tom is a journalist. He enjoys writing but doesn’t enjoy going to his job every day. He is treated poorly by his boss, being passed over for a promotion he thought he deserved. Instead of being assertive and standing up to his boss, he allows his boss to demean him every chance he gets. He wallows in self-pity every day over his ex-boyfriend Lance who left him for another man in Spain.

Farming is all Cole has ever known. From a young age his uncle and auntie raised him on their farm. He watched his family work hard every day to make money and keep things going. So when he has to take a job in the city to support the farm, he is way out of his element.

Both men live in Hebdon Bridge, a small suburb of Manchester, England. They’ve never met before and a chain of events leads up to a chance meeting at the train station.

Throughout the book I struggle with Tom. I have a hard time in his believability. He likes his job; he doesn’t like his job. He wants the promotion; he doesn’t want the promotion. One thing I never doubted was his love for Cole. But, he always used his job as an excuse to get away from him. I felt like I was on a crazy loop with this guy for a while with his mood and thought changes.

I felt like Cole was a bit of push over. He allowed Tom to get away with a lot. And Cole always forgave him. There isn’t anything wrong with being a good kind-hearted person, but at least know how to hold your ground so you don’t get stepped on time and again.

And then there’s Ricky (he was like a bad penny, always showing up at the most inopportune times). Tom’s best friend. More like a nemesis if you ask me. He caused more issues than I care to go into. Why would you not put a person like that in their place when they start messing around in your life?

All that being said I’m still giving this story 4 stars. I wish Tom’s enthusiasm for his relationship had shown up sooner than the epilogue, but he did show the most improvement. As a first time reader of Ashley John, I must say, I do adore his writing. The story is well written and I was able to understand and enjoy the story without questioning what I had read. The story rounded itself out in the end.

n Blood Visions, we have a detective and a psychic teaming up together to solve a mystery about missing women. Detective Ronan meets Dustin, the man who’s been having dreams about the women, and of course the attraction is there. It was difficult to rate this so I decided to give it a three. I liked the characters, the mystery and plot line was okay. It was kinda just set up so these two could be together, which I’m all for. I was kinda expecting more from it, but I started reading this with way too much expectations, so my fault. I have a thing for detectives. Heh.

Cookie

Excerpt

It was too real to just be one of his nightmares. Dustin had learned to tell the difference between his dreams and a vision while he was asleep by the age of twelve, and he is twenty-one now. Dustin sits up in bed carefully, his head swimming a little, his ears still ringing with the girl’s heart-wrenching sobs.

He gets out of bed and goes to the bathroom. He takes some Tylenol out of the cabinet and washes it down with a glass of water. He hopes that will help with his headache, and he won’t have to take the tramadol his doctor has given him.

Dustin looks at himself in the mirror above his sink. He looks pale even for him, and sweaty. His dyed purple hair is matted, some of it slicked down, stuck to his head, and other bits are sticking up wildly. The whites of his bright blue eyes are a little bloodshot, but there is no blood below his nose this time, so that’s something.

Splashing some water on his face to try to wake himself up a little, Dustin dries off his face with a towel, and then heads back to his bedroom. Dustin sits on the edge of his bed and pulls out the sketchbook he keeps there, and the charcoal.

He starts sketching the girl from memory. He can remember what she looked like, but Dustin can’t remember anything about the room she had been in, only that it was dark and cold. She’d been chained up; her wrists were bleeding. Dustin had been able to feel her fear; she’d been terrified.

Synopsis

When is war justified to preserve peace?

Society has evolved into one collective belief that celebrates diversity. Luxury credits are earned and spent only after the world population is fed and educated. But when catastrophic weather kills thousands and destroys crops, people begin to look for answers among ancient legends of guilt, retribution, and a vengeful deity.

Jael, seasoned commander of a latent cell of dragon horse warriors, understands what Alyssa, an alluring young priestess, doesn’t—words won’t be enough to quell the violent sect preying on the population’s fear and hunger. As their conflicting ideologies threaten to jeopardize their mission, Alyssa and Jael realize their growing attraction and entwined destiny might be more formidable than the enemy they have been called upon to defeat.

The world building in this series is amazing. This is the first book in the series but I actually read the second book first. I liked it so much that I absolutely had to go back and pick this one up. This one was a little harder for me to get into; the leader, Jael, seemed very hardened and jaded, not open at all to finding a soul mate. Alyssa, on the other hand, came across as extremely naive and her inability to understand Jael’s nature and mission led her to become obstructionist and put herself in grave danger. The fact that they both overcome their objections and misunderstandings in a way that seems totally true to each of them is a feat of skill Jackson shows as a writer. I was disappointed to read that this is only supposed to be a trilogy because that means I only have one more awesome book to read in this universe and I don’t want it to end. I can’t wait for the third book.

TWO 4.5 Star and ONE 4 Star Review for Misinformation by Keelan Ellis #MM #homophobia @KeelanEllisAuth @Dreamspinners

30044991

Title: Misinformation
Author Name & Publisher: Kellan Ellis (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: June 15, 2016 – 200 Pages

Synopsis

Ethan Daniels, host of a popular conservative cable news program, has never thought of his bisexuality as a problem, though he has never acted on his attraction to men. Since his divorce, that desire has become more acute. When he meets Charlie Woods, his daughter’s first grade teacher, they have an instant spark, but Ethan hesitates to act. His contract is up for renewal, there are already rumors swirling about him because of a brief encounter from his past, and the last thing his employers want is for one of their stars to come out publicly.

Charlie avoids romantic entanglements because he prefers living on his own terms. He keeps love and sex completely separate, never seeing anyone more than a few times. Hooking up with a closeted celebrity like Ethan seems safe from emotional involvement, even if they have to keep their fledgling relationship secret.

The last thing they expect is to fall in love, but their strong mutual attraction moves them both to make changes neither of them thought they wanted or needed.

FourandHalfStars

This was a fresh type of read. I truly enjoyed the different angle this one played. It felt real, almost like it could be happening right next door.
Ethan is a man who is bi-sexual and always knew he was attracted to men but never truly acted on it. He did fall in love with Dierde and had a daughter, Fiona. Ethan is a true man and does everything to put his daughter before his own needs. He moves and takes a job that is so far opposite of his true self and what he believes in.
Ethan meet’s Fiona’s 1st-grade teacher, Charlie, and has an attraction to him that he cannot resist. Due to Ethan’s job at a news station that is so far right-winged that at times, it was hard to swallow what I was reading, that he and Charlie have to keep their relationship a secret. Ethan doesn’t want to hold Charlie back and doesn’t think it is fair that he keeps Charlie a secret (see? Such a true man), but Charlie is having unnamed emotions towards Ethan therefore he wants to stay with Ethan.  These two are completely honest with each other which is refreshing. I liked how Charlie was having relationship visions and told Ethan, who then in turn has tried his best to make them become real. It was sweet and love.
Believe it or not, it is Dierdre, Ethan’s ex-wife, that steps up and encourages Ethan to follow his heart. At first, I wasn’t a fan of Dierdre, but she quickly becomes a favorite. Fiona is such a doll and I love her views on all relationships. All children need to be taught to believe that.
My only issue was that most of the book took place over 5 months and the last chapter covered almost one and half years. It felt rushed at the end, even though the last scene was the best ending wrap up which is what caused the loss of half a star. But even with that, I would recommend this book and I look forward to reading more from Keelan Ellis.

his is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters development was spot on in my opinion and the sex was just SIZZLING. This book is perceptive and I felt very accurate, this was due the author dealing with two men, one who doesn’t do relationships and the other who isn’t “out” at work and working for a very conservative news station. The author was able to make everything seem very authentic and I loved the whole story. I also loved how there was no judgment between the characters and the supportive friends and family was also spot on. The author was great at keeping everything upfront and very real.

FourStars

This was a good read. I enjoyed it. There was some turmoil about coming out and there was some turmoil about work finding out since the company was against gay people but for the most part it was pretty easy going.

Ethan in my opinion was his own worst enemy when it came to excepting that he is bisexual. He worked himself up into unnecessary worth about what others would think and feel about it when in reality it was him that needed to accept himself not others. Once he did the others were easy compared to what he did to himself. I think that Ethan put too much stock into what others thought of him so ultimately he was miserable because of it and he almost lost the best person to come into his life because of it.

Charlie is comfortable in his own skin and who is. He is out and proud but he is scared of relationships but once he mets Ethan all bets are off because he cannot help but to fall into a relationship with him. Now Charlie just needs to accept that they work and even though there is work to make the relationship work, it is ok because they are happier together then they ever would be apart. Now he just needs to accept it before he loses Ethan.

A good read with not a lot of turmoil, more like a lot of acceptance of how good things can be. Enjoyed this read.

Unfortunately, this book just didn’t really do it for me.  It had an intriguing plot and some twists in there that I didn’t expect, but the story as a whole was not my favorite.

Camille was almost too docile throughout the story and despite his family shunning him, etc. he never really learned to live on his own.  He was constantly checking to make sure everyone around him was OK, but never really looking out for himself.  His character was just blah for me.

Then you have Damien.  While I liked his character more, again, he was almost too predictable.

The chemistry between the two was not great for me.  Sure, they had sex, but I never truly felt that they had a great connection.  It was a forced connection that kind of turned in to something more, but not in an organic way for me.

Sadly, I did not really like this one.

AvidReader

Camille started out as a very pathetic vampire. He couldn’t even drink blood from a live person cause it made him queasy to kill anyone. Just as he was about to starve to death, he meets Damien, who is an assassin. I actually liked this story. The romance between Camille and Damien wasn’t shoved at our face, but gradually happened.
Camille made Damien softer, and Damien made Camille stronger. They complimented each other well. The plot was so-so, but I was drawn to the couple enough to ignore that it wasn’t a problem. They were certainly hot together. The ending kinda sucked for me though cause I feel like they didn’t get a HEA. They were together in the end, but it was a “happy for now” feeling.

This is the story of Amie and Dru, two women we first meet in Mara’s story, The Unicorn. In The Unicorn, Amie was the Domme who couldn’t give Mara the complete relationship that she wanted, and Dru was the club owner who matched Mara with the couple she became involved with. In Top to Bottom, we learn why Amie and Mara didn’t work. Amie has a whole lot of baggage. We find out that Dru is recovering from loss, and that Dru and Amie have a past. That past comes into play when Dru asks Amie for some business help, and the two women realize that they still have a lot of chemistry together. The scenes they had were hot, and it was nice to watch Amie start to realize that vanilla wasn’t necessarily a bad word when it was done with someone she trusted. There’s a subplot of sabotage that threatens their budding relationship, but once Amie calms down enough to realize that she has possibly overreacted to something Dru said, it clears the way for some honest communication, and possibly the route to happiness for them both. A very enjoyable read.

I must admit I found this novel a little perplexing. At first I thought it was a beginners guide to S and M. Then perhaps a mystery. Finally I settled on a love story that eventually  succeeded between two strong women.
Not sure it should be classed  as erotica, especially as the conclusion almost verged on the normal regarding the women’s relationship.
Easy to read and interesting in parts.
However personally I found the whole thing a little chaotic and rather arbitrary.

Find out how it all began for Peter and Christian.

Before Toby met Damon, Peter and Christian found each other on the internet.

Still in the army, Christian was inexperienced in not only BDSM, but sex altogether. Still, he has yearnings and furtively explores them in online chatrooms.

Luckily for Christian, seasoned Dom Peter recognizes Christian’s lack of experience and a kindred spirit in the man, and they take their conversations to text messages and Skype calls.

This was a story that I enjoyed a lot.  This was more of a discovery story.  You have Christian who is just learning what he needs and wants and then you have Peter, the established Dom in the relationship.

They have great chemistry and Peter is ever patient with Christian’s struggle both internal and external.

It’s a quick read, but one that packs a lot in to the short number of pages.  You get to see the relationship go from friendship to lovers, but it’s not necessarily rushed and most definitely not an insta-love story.

Overall, this was a great short story about finding out what you need and want and not being afraid of going for it.

I haven’t read the previous stories but now that I have read this book I will be going back and reading them. I loved this book. It did move a little fast and there were some things that were left out that I would have liked to know, like the internet conversations between Peter and Christian. All that aside this was fast paced and H.O.T. Yes Christian was hesitant and Peter was a little bit pushy but I think it worked for this couple and I simply loved them. I can’t wait to go back and read how they are currently as a couple.

This was a really good BDSM story by an author I love. This is the first book in this series that I’ve read and I feel it can be read as a standalone. Sean Michael is an author that gives me my BDSM story but it is clearly entertaining. I would put this book in line with his Hammer Series; it was fun and loving type of story. I immediately had a connection with Christian (l love my military men) and quickly came to love Peter as well. These characters clearly had a connection to each other that fulfilled both of their needs. As I’ve read many books by this author I can definitely say that there is emotion, yet tenderness in the story as well as a lot of really hot sex. If you like BDSM stories then I would highly recommend reading this book.

As a huge fan of the series, this was even better than I’d hoped for. With the main series story arc over, there is time in this book for Calvin and Hobbs to properly develop as characters and finally finish the evolution from friends to lover.

As a selective mute, Ethan is only previously explored through his actions and the perceptions of other characters. it was wonderful to finally read his voice and hear his thoughts. His backstory is finally fully explored in book six and it would be impossible not to love all three Hobbs men after reading this.

The relationship between Calvin and Ethan is longer and more complicated than suggested in other stories. I loved their whole story and I loved them even more as a couple after learning their history.

There is much less action and angst in this book than in earlier books. For me, this was great. The training scenes, the routine call-outs, the social – I loved the slightly slower pace and the ability to see the characters I’ve come to love as couples and friends outside of battle situations.

What will she think of next and when will the next book in the series be released….

This book was not as action packed as the rest of the books but that does not mean that it was not as good as the rest in the series.

This book is primarily based around Ethan and Calvin. Their relationship has been based off of being best friends but along the way they have both fallen in love with one another. Ethan has disorders that has always affected him but when it comes to Calvin he finds a way to not that hinder their relationship.

Ethan is truly an exceptionally strong person because he fights to overcome all of the obstacles in his life such as his mutism. He could let that dictate how he lives and not strive to achieve what he wants out of his life but he does the opposite and fights for love and his family instead. He is someone that everyone should look up too.

Calvin has always had Ethan’s back and he know that Ethan is a strong person because most people would give up and not do what they have to in order to overcome disabilities. He is the voice for Ethan when he cannot have one for himself. Calvin is truely a hero in my eyes

Much like the rest in the series, this book ends in a cliff hanger and I personally can not wait till the next book comes out.

This book is honestly inspirational in my opinion and if u do not read it then u are missing out on something wonderful.

I thought this book was such a awesome addition to this series!

Okay so I have been waiting for Calvin and Hobbs book for awhile because there was just something about these two characters that I just wanted to know more about and this book did not disappoint at all.

Calvin and Hobbs as a couple are just so sweet and can I say the steam between these two men was so very hot! There was action in this book along with angst and on the edge of your seat moments too! But lets not forget the humor though because so many times while I was reading this book I laughed so hard at something one of these characters would do there were tears in my eyes. Which brings me to the fact you will get to see so much of the previous characters in this series in this book which I loved so much! Getting to see where everyone was at now was awesome!

I thought this author did such a amazing job with this story and these characters! I do not want to give away any spoilers so I will leave this review with… I 100% loved this book and would recommend this series!

As happy as I was to see Ash and Cael together finally I am even happier about Calvin and Ethan. Your heart just breaks for Evan and all he has been through and when we find out someone mistook him for his brother and was put through even more you just can help but want to hug him. This book is action packed and once again this team is put through the ringer but as always they seem to come out on top. I thought I wasn’t going to like the addition of TIN but I am actually ok with it and curious where it will go to. This book ended on a doozy and I need the next book ASAP!!! This is my new favorite series and I am sure I will be re-reading all of these books time and again.

I liked this addition to this series. This is one of my absolute favorite series. Every book adds a new element to the series as a whole and I love that we still get to see the characters from previous books.
This relationship grows from a childhood friendship that we’ve seen through out all the previous books in the series, but we finally get to see inside the heads of these two men.
Both are extremely strong in their own ways as they deal with everything that life has thrown at them. I particularly like that one of the main characters has a disability and isn’t perfect. It made him more realistic and relateable.
I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us. Every book sweeps me away and I can’t put it down until I’ve finished it.

Cobbs. *sigh* What can I say about Calvin and Hobbs? Only that they are so sweet, true friends, have each other backs through thick and thin and are most definitely the kinkiest of all the couples which gives Dex and Sloane a run for their money, not only in the steam department but also in the humor department. This story just might be one of my favorites.
I truly enjoyed getting to know Hobbs through his own voice. He just may be one of my favorite men of this series. I find his strength pushing through his disability amazing. He was real; his emotions, his feelings, his protectiveness, his loyalty, his fierceness, his love. Calvin was amazing in everything. He was patient, caring, and most definitely protective. These two were best friends from such a young age and have developed such a close bond, that they know each other inside and out. This story just happens to extend the inside of each other and it was hot!
We get more of Team Destructive Delta and all their shenanigans and funny banter. But we also get an inside of the Hobbs family. It will break your heart and you just might fall in love with Rafe of all people. Also cannot forget Seb. I so hope we get a story and a HEA for Seb and Hudson. The love of the Hobbs family is real. The love, compassion, and respect between Calvin and Hobbs is felt deep.
My only uh-oh factor to this story which actually makes it much more intense is the ending. What in the ever-loving world? My heart is devastated. Smoke and Mirrors cannot come soon enough, for all of us THIRDS Nerds, we are just sitting on the edge of our seats, biting our nails and pulling out our hair trying to keep our hearts calm. Bring on the action!

TWO 5 Star, ONE 4.5 Star and TWO 4 Star Reviews for The Perfect Sub (Iron Eagle Gym #2) by Sean Michael #MM #BDSM

CoverTitle: The Perfect Sub (Iron Eagle Gym #2)
Author Name & Publisher: Sean Michael (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: March 28, 2016 – 220 pgs

Synopsis

While new couple Tide and Lance spend time deepening their relationship and further introducing Lance to the joys and vagaries of being a sub, established couple Tyrone and Bran discover that they still have a thing or two to learn as well.

A new job finds Bran run off his feet, and a visit to the eye doctor leads to the discovery of a brain tumor. Bran is terrified. He strives to be the perfect sub for his beautiful master and sees the tumor as a personal failing as he tries to handle every last phone call, e-mail, and text that comes in, no matter how early or late. When Tyrone finally finds out about the tumor Bran’s been keeping a secret, he realizes he’s been taking his sub for granted, and he works to rediscover his boy and their relationship. Of course, that’s easier said than done given that Bran’s job is taking up all his time and he would rather pretend the tumor just doesn’t exist than actually deal with it.

It’s going to take all of Tyrone’s prowess as a master to help guide Bran through these troubled waters.

Chock full of hot steamy sex, this book also has lots of heart. We met both Bran and Tyrone and Tide and Lance in the first book of the series. This book seems to pick up right at the end of that book. We see Tide and Lance growing closer and closer. Bran and Tyrone who have been together for years seem to drift a little but nothing really noticeable for either of them or really even the reader until Bran gets bad news from the doctor. I just love how these two couples are always so loving and affectionate to each other not only as couples but as friends too. I hope there will be another book in the series, I love these two couples and I am not ready to say goodbye to them yet.

This book is basically a continuous of book one. It pretty much picks up where book one ended. The only difference is there is more of Bran And Tyrone’s point of view through out this book along with Lance and Tide.

In this book I was able to see that Lance and Tide where able to feel more comfortable in their relationship. I feel that theirs is more of a relationship and less based around the BDSM lifestyle. I feel like they practice parts of the BDSM lifestyle but they r definitely not 24/7. I feel like each day that passes Lance was more comfortable in his own skin and that Tide is really good for Lance because Lance feels like he has the freedom to be himself and enjoy his desires because Tide supports him in his choices. They really are a great couple in my opinion.

Tyrone and Bran have been together for a long time in what I would definitely say is a 24/7 Dom/Sub lifestyle. They know each other’s wants and needs but I feel like they have gotten complacent in their relationship and do not realize they are not meeting each other’s emotional needs any longer but instead only the physical needs. Don’t get me wrong they are still a very much strong couple in my opinion but I feel like maybe they are too comfortable with each other and I believe that Brans tumor scare is exactly what they needed even though I wish I could have happened in a better way.

Bran and Tyrone have to reevaluate their relationship and make changes and I believe this is a very good thing we’re their relationship is concerned and I have no doubt that hey will continue to be a very strong, loving couple in future books in this series.

I cannot wait till the next one comes out if their is a next one that is. I enjoyed getting to know these two couples and hope to read more about them in the future.

This was a really excellent book by Sean Michael. This is far from the first book I’ve read by this author and can’t say I was every disappointed. In this book we focus mainly on Bran and Tyrone but still have time seeing how Tide and Lance are building their relationship. This story didn’t just have BDSM and sex; it was quite clearly a love story. No it was not your typical love story but Sean Michael was able to show you that love can blossom anywhere as long as you nurture it. That obvious became the problem with Bran and Tyrone. It was great to see them work through their problems and overcome them. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves BDSM but HOT sex but you most definitely get both in this book.

This was a good story, but not great for me.  I really enjoyed the first book and was slightly let down with this one.

Tide and Lance’s relationship is a sexual as ever and they are still learning to trust in each other.  Despite Lance’s reservations, he learns that he can enjoy spending time with Tide at the Iron Eagle Gym.  I thought it was so sweet that Tide wanted Lance to feel comfortable with himself, in the knowledge that Tide found Lance’s physique appealing, despite Lance feeling like a bean pole.

I wish that we would have gotten more photo sessions in this one, as those were always hot.

Then you have Bran and Tyrone’s relationship.  They seem to struggle a bit more in this story, despite seeming like the more established relationship.  Bran has lost his trust in himself and his Dom.  When he finds himself in denial about what’s happening around him, it takes a strong, firm, loving Dom – Tyrone, to bring him back to himself.  Tyrone questions his ability to care for Bran when he finds out after the fact from Bran, about the health issue he is facing.  The scenes of bringing them back together – seriously hot.

What I didn’t enjoy about this story as much, and I can’t believe I am going to say this, is that there was almost too many sex scenes.  It seemed like they were scattered all over and that was the majority of the book.  I wish the story had been more in-depth – less about their pleasure and more about real life.

However, it was a good story and I always enjoy books by Sean Michael.

This was more than just a BDSM story. The love and respect between these couples was amazing. I enjoyed how the story was multi-person POV. Bran was just adorable and his fears were real. It took Tyrone to go back to basics and show the love of his life, his true love. It was scary knowing the secret Bran was keeping until Tyrone stepped in. I enjoy that these two set of couples are friends and can open and honest and flirtatious with each other. You could feel the continuing developing relationship between Tide and Lance. The sex was not only hot but the compassion for each other could be felt. My only issue was that the actual problem of the brain tumor was identified late in the story and resolved quite quickly. I would have liked to have read more about the conflict and feel Tyrone’s fear of the possibility of losing Bran more than I did. I do hope we get to see more of these fabulous men.

4 Star and 3 Star Reviews for Wet Heat by R.D. Hero #MM #Paranormal @roughtdrafthero

CoverTitle: Wet Heat
Author Name & Publisher: R.D. Hero (Riptide Publishing)
Publication Date & Length: June 20, 2016 – 107 pgs

Synopsis

Most omega werewolves want a mate and pups, but Lee Aung prefers an unconventional party-boy lifestyle. Yet at forty-two, he’s stopped going into heat, which means he’s expired goods—no longer a fertile, young omega that alpha wolves drool over. So Lee uses Wet Heat, a synthetic pheromone, to reel in the alpha hookups.

After losing his job at the bank, Lee can’t afford to keep up his Wet Heat habit. His solution: scam free samples by pretending to be a happily mated test subject at Wet Heat headquarters. There, Lee spends two years being interviewed by the reserved alpha scientist, Cain, who at thirty-two is unmated and—up until this point—content with that.

Cain never really felt his alpha instincts, nor took part in the usual alpha/beta/omega social dynamics. But after discovering that Lee has been lying about his unmated status for two years, Cain finally admits that for the first time, he wants to court an omega. Unfortunately, he’s picked the one omega who doesn’t want to be courted.

This short story is a good read with a lot happening it.

Wet Heat is an omega pheromones that they put off when they are still young and can have babies. Once an omega hits a certain age they no longer carry that pheromone so they can put wet heat on and make it out that they still have what it is that attracts most alphas to them.

This is the position that Lee is in. I believe that even though is not still in heatand uses wet heat for his good times, he is actually still just looking for the one that will keep his attention and keep him on his toes. That is where Cain cones into play.

Think that Cain is content with not showing his alpha side until he meets Lee. Lee seems to push all the right buttons in Cain and brings out what comes natural, his alpha protective side. Lee does not want to rely on anyone but himself but after getting to know Cain more and more he does not seem to able to help himself and starts to fall for him even against his own will. But he does not do it without a fight and the one thing I can say about Cain is now that he has found what or who he wants he does not give up no matter what.

Even with the cat and mouse play that goes on between them, their is more to the story. Lee’s nephew finds himself in a dangerous situation and Lee does not know who to trust. Is it Cain that is after Shane or is it someone else?

I enjoyed reading this book. It was very entertaining.

Hmm, this was an interesting read. Lee is an Omega over his prime and needs a product called Wet Heat to attract lovers. He’s broke so he’s been lying on surveys to get free samples. Cain…Cain was endearing. I actually liked him a lot. He was so cute and quirky. He catches Lee on his lies, but doesn’t want to turn him in. No, Cain wants to be lovers.
Lee annoyed me at some points. Not sure I liked him for Cain, really. I think I need a second book to be convinced that they end up together. The end didn’t give much closure. More like A happy for now feeling…or happy in the moment? hmm.
