This was another wonderful story about Will and Patrick and another great from the duo of Blake and Griffiths. This story had humor and love in it and it was great to finally see the characters admit they were falling in love. I was glad I was reading this book at home because sometimes I would just burst out laughing. This duo just has way of injecting humor at the exact right points and I can’t wait to read the final installment. I am so glad that they are getting their HEA.

The next morning, Will’s romantic musings feel like the product of overwrought exhaustion when Patrick wakes up cranky as a cat dunked in water.

“Turn off the alarm,” he snarls. “Make it stop.” Then, sitting up and glaring at Will like he’s going to kill him with the power of his mind, he demands, “Did you test yet? Did you eat? What’s your BG number?”

Will’s not even out of bed. Only fifteen seconds ago he’d had one hundred and seventy pounds of Patrick spread out on top of him. Of course he hasn’t tested yet. “I just woke up.”

“Don’t make me test you myself.” Patrick flings back the covers and stalks to the bathroom in his underwear. Will rolls his eyes but grabs his kit and quickly tests. Over the sound of piss hitting water, Patrick calls out, “Well? What’s the number?”

“Ninety-eight. Calm your tits.”

Patrick comes out, arms crossed over his chest and his hair sticking up everywhere. “Calm my tits? Calm your tits.”

Will indicates his nipples. “What? Check ’em out. Not even a little bit pointy.”

Patrick narrows his gaze but a reluctant smirk tweaks up the corner of his mouth.

“Let me guess.” Will laughs. “You know how to change that.” The knot of worry loosens in his chest.

“Maybe later. I have to eat first.”

While they wait for room service, they shower and shave, and Will endures Patrick making a solid pitch for him to consider a Continuous Glucose Monitoring System.

“I’ll ask Dr. Anastasia about it,” Will compromises.

“And a pump.”

“Don’t push your luck.”

They throw on robes to greet Perry and his cart of warm, delicious-smelling goodies. Conversation is cut dead at that point as Patrick devours his bacon, muffins, doughnuts, and strawberries with fresh cream. Will’s healthier breakfast of cottage cheese, whole-wheat toast, and a small slice of quiche Lorraine isn’t nearly as exciting, but he doesn’t know how Patrick stays so slim eating like he does. If he tried it, he’d be the size of a house.

Once they finish breakfast, Will broaches the topic. “We’re going to need to talk about my dad eventually.”

“What happened to pretending he’s dead?”

“Unfortunately, he’s not.”

“And he’s staying in this building, so we’re bound to run into him sooner rather than later.”

“Better point.”

Will lets a wry grin spread on his lips. “But I’m not going to just sit back and let him run the show this time. I need find out why he’s in town and then get him to leave again. As soon as possible.” He stands up and brings the chess set over to the table, clearing away their plates. “If we can play ahead of his game, we can at least capture his queen. And then maybe even his king. Especially since he won’t be expecting us to be playing at all.”

“If by queen you’re referring to Kimberly, I don’t know about that. She’s a slippery one.”

“You think Tony’s back because of my mother?”

“Historically, her milkshake has brought him to the yard.”

Will sighs as he sets up the board. “She’s only been dating Jason a few weeks. Tony usually waits for her to get serious before he drops in to ruin her chance at happiness.”

“Maybe Jason proposed.”

“That’d be on The Hurting Times forums ten minutes after it happened. Have you seen it there?”

“And Caitlin would have called threatening to jump off a bridge or shave her head or something drastic in protest.”

“So he hasn’t put a ring on it yet.”

Will moves his pawn forward. “It’s still a starting place.”

Patrick shoves one of his pawns out to an empty square. “Before surgery, I have to know what I’m dealing with. I can’t just cut into someone’s noggin without knowing if I’m going in to repair damage or to cut out a tumor. Same here. We need more information. What’s your dad’s sign?”

Will’s lips flatten. “Seriously?”

Patrick lifts his brows.

“I knew it!” Patrick shakes his head. “Never trust a Sagittarius.”

Will sighs and ignores this. “Even though the award ceremony isn’t until March, word is getting around now that I won the Healing Hero Award. I hope to God he’s not planning to stick around for that.”

“A congratulatory phone call from Mobster Daddy would have sufficed.”

Will moves a pawn in front of the right bishop. “You’ve been slapped with that stupid malpractice suit. That might have raised his hackles too, if he’s not sure of your intentions toward me.”

“I have zero honorable intentions toward you. So, he’d be onto something there.”

Will snorts. “You made an honest man of me.”

“For now.”

“Yeah.” Will smiles softly as gentle warmth blooms in his chest. “For now.” He bites his lip. “Do you think sex will be even dirtier once we’re divorced?”

Patrick looks up from contemplating the chessboard. “Are you planning on sleeping with me after we’re divorced?”

Will’s ears burn. “Would we have to stop?”

Patrick swallows, his blue eyes shading darker. “Not unless we want to stop.”

Heat zings in the air between them. Will clears his throat. “That’s a long time from now. Who knows when we’ll even have to think about it? You’ll probably be tired of sleeping with me by the time a loophole opens up for us.”

“I’ll never get tired of fucking you.”

Patrick sounds so certain that Will’s dick stirs and he has to look away, focusing his attention back on the chessboard. He’s not sure whose move it is now. “Anyway, there are plenty of reasons for Tony to make the trip from Minneapolis. I’m surprised I didn’t see it coming.”

ONE 5 Star and THREE 4 Star Reviews for Stay with Me (The PI Guys #1) by S.E. Harmon (AuDIOBOOK REVIEW) #MM #Romance

CoverTitle: Stay with me (The PI Guys #1)
Author Name & Publisher: S.E. Harmon (Dreamspinner Press)
Publication Date & Length: April 28, 2014 – 290 pgs

Private investigator Mackenzie Williams’s newest client is everything he’s looking for in a guy—charming, beautiful, intelligent, and successful. There’s only one itty bitty problem—the guy’s not exactly gay. In fact, Jordan Channing is looking for a PI to follow his fiancée. The smart thing would be to thank Jordan for his time, turn Mr. Perfect away (don’t let the door hit you on the rump, thank you very much), and forget he exists.

Of course, Mackenzie has never been accused of doing the smart thing. Being smart aleck is more his MO. Relationships aren’t up his alley, never have been. So why’s he so inexplicably drawn to his new client?

Jordan has always been the high achiever, a man who lives in a focused, controlled, and carefully constructed manner. But for the first time in his life, he has to admit the impossible—another man is getting his engine running on all cylinders. Despite Jordan’s denial, it’s not long before he can no longer resist the strong undercurrents pulling them together. Now Jordan must decide if he can go against everything he’s ever known to have the only love he’s ever wanted.

Such a great book. Stay with me by SE Harmon is about Mac and Jordan.

Jordan is a straight man who ends up hiring Mac who is a PI to investigate his fiancée and see if she is cheating. But from the get go Mac and Jordan’s attraction to one another is too strong to ignore.

The more time that the two men spend together the harder it is for them to deny that they have feelings for one another.

It was wonderful being able to picture it from the beginning when they was fighting their attraction to each other to being able to picture the two of them giving in and exploring the chemistry they have with each other.

Macs emotional problems was so realistic. He has a problem with not trusting anyone to stay for the long haul so he pushes people away when they get too close to him. His mom destroyed their family when he was young and he has carried that fear and pain with him through the years and applies it to his relationships. It was hard to see how that past pain unfolded and how he had to over come it.

I found myself being completely amazed with Jordan and how it was was easier then I figured it would be to embrace his new sexuality. He did it with grace and dignity and that made me love him that much more.

I found that this was not a hard book to fall in love with the characters. Mac is this out going man that makes jokes at every turn. I found myself laughing out loud at him several times throughout the book as if he was standing in front of me.

I definitely recommend that others read this book, it was truly heart felt and loved it greatly.

If you’re looking to get a good dose of laughter and snark with your happily ever after, look no further that Stay With Me. Mackenzie is the sweet and sassy that you expect from the South. He has the most adorable chip on his shoulder from years of struggle with abandonment and sometimes self worth. His job as a PI has only cemented his belief that love only hurts and can’t be trusted. You will laugh out loud at some of the things that he thinks and then comes flying out of his mouth. Your inner snarky boy/girl will wallow along with him because who doesn’t sometimes feel justified at being angry for no good reason. Mackenzie meets his match with Jordan though when Jordan hires him to follow his fiance Rachel. Despite that fact that Jordan is engaged and straight there is an unique chemistry to Mackenzie and Jordan that draws you in.

Mackenzie has done the unavailable guy thing before and still struggles with his past. Jordan doesn’t make it easy to root for him either. His whole life he has been straight so he has some struggles of his own. So along their journey you will definitely want to kick him a few times. They have more to overcome before it is all said and done. You will see each of their sweet sides and the rough edges of trying to find a way to meld two lives together. They stumble along quite a bit and sometimes it makes you want to knock their heads together but you won’t be disappointed when you have reached the end of this book. You will want these amazing men to make it and along the way you will laugh, yell and maybe a few tears will be shed. But it makes you want to pick up the next book just to see if they can make it  for the long haul and to see how Mackenzie’s PI partner deals with it when love comes knocking on his door.

Jessica W.
I thought the main character was hilarious with his snarky comments and attitude throughout the book.
However, there were times when I got a bit tired of Mack and I really hated Jordan for his wishy washy behavior. Not to mention the fact that Jordan hadn’t been with another man but sure jumped in feet first.. or maybe that’s head first and made it seem like he was such a pro.
However, overall I felt like it was a very well written book with unique and fun characters and plot line. The plot line was fun because we got to see some silly things that come along with being a PI, which I found down right hilarious.
The narrator did a good job with the book and I enjoyed listening to his voice. However, I can’t say there was anything that made it particularly stick out from any of the other narrators I’ve listened to.

Mackenzie is hilarious! I can’t remember the last time I laughed this much. His never ending internal dialog is fantastic. However, it would have been nice if he had had a supportive confidant for him to talk to. Someone he could share all his internal angst with. Instead, he starts believing the worst is going to happen. He’s always waiting for the other shoe to drop. And instead of talking things through with the person he’s in a relationship with, he runs.

When Jordan came into the picture I was excited to hear his story. The description of the book made him sound so interesting. I was expecting some sort of internal angst of his own. But the reader never gets to hear it because the story is written in Mac’s POV only. Not hearing Jordan’s POV makes believing his story difficult. Is it possible for Jordan to suddenly want another man when he’s never been with one? Or even had feelings for another man? I don’t know.

Despite all this, the book is well written and I look forward to reading the sequel.

Sex and Candy is actually a book with two short stories that are intertwined, “Sex and Candy” and “Candy Rain”. Candy Rain is actually the first in the series, even though it is the second story in the book.

The series is about two men, Lee and Tony. The two men meet at a club called Hard Candy when Tony saves Lee from being forced to do things with another gentleman that did not understand what the word NO means. From that point forward the night was only supposed to be a one night stand.

In Sex and Candy the sequel to book 1 it is a year later and Tony has agreed to let Lee go back to Hard Candy to have a “free night” of unattached sex with the person of Lee’s choice.

I really enjoyed these two short stories. They were both full of hot, steamy, man on man sex. The details of the escapades these two men get up too is beyond hot. But is not just a book about steamy sex, it also has a story line behind them. I like how Tony and Lee turned into more then a one night stand and I loved how in book two Tony was willing to do what was necessary to keep their relationship alive and going strong.

Really enjoyed both short stories just wish there was more.

For a good, quick read this is the book for you.

From Sex and Candy:

Finally, after a few minutes—a few hours…a few days—passed, Lee saw the light filtering through the slats darken as he heard footsteps stop outside the door. His pulse pounding in his ears, he backed away from it when the knob turned.

It’s happening.

Lee’s heart stuttered.

Amber eyes met thickly-lashed brown, and the dark-haired newcomer’s lips quirked upon eye contact. Lee swallowed hard and, without a word, sank to his knees.

A low chuckle filled the space. The lock clicked, and strong fingers gripped Lee’s chin. Lee’s eyes fluttered shut as the dark head bent closer. Firm lips pressed against his own, a tongue sliding out to sweep along the seam. Lee’s lips parted to give entrance, but the other man had already pulled away. His voice was raspy when he spoke. “Good boy,” he murmured. “I see you’ve made a decision.”

Lee glanced up and caught a wicked gleam in those dark brown eyes. Even though he was a foot away, he was at eye level with a leather-covered bulge, and his tongue sat heavy in his mouth, desperate for a taste. Lee felt his heart race as he replied. “Yes, Sir. My—My mouth, please. Please put your cock in my mouth.”

Lee watched wide-eyed as that dark gaze flashed at the polite yet scandalous request. Sir’s full lips curled up as he stepped closer, bringing with him a hint of cologne and the heady scent of pure man. “First,” he corrected, those thick fingers carding through Lee’s hair before gripping his head firmly. “Please put my cock in your mouth first.”

This is a lovely little tale, Gothic Romance gay style. A mysterious ghost, a charming groundskeeper, and a stranger from the city. I found it a bit amateurish in the storytelling–more told than shown, surprising for an author with so much experience. But it’s a minor quibble. I got suitably drawn in. It was approrpiate for the era–I kept looking for anachronisms and didn’t find any. This is where Jennings’ talent shows.
Cedric Davidson and Christopher Morgan are both likable and aptly named. The estate was sufficiently ominous and wild. And the sex–to die for. I’m split between a three for the story and a five for the love between men.
A great story for a dark and stormy night.

New Release: 4 Star and 3 Star Review for Elemental Love by LM Somerton #MM #BDSM #Paranormal @lmsomerton

Title: Elemental Love
Author Name & Publisher: LM Somerton (Pride Publishing)
Publication Date & Length: March 29, 2016 – 59,472 Words

An untrained warlock is a dangerous man to love.

On his twenty-first birthday, Evrain Brookes discovers he is an elemental warlock. The spell suppressing his talent lifts and he has to get used to a whole new existence. The protection that kept him safe during his childhood is gone, his skills are wild and uncontrolled and there are those that seek to use him for their own gain.

Evrain’s grandmother is a witch, his godfather another warlock. Between them they do their best to keep Evrain on the right path. He learns that in order to gain control of his formidable powers, he will need to ‘channel’ through a life partner, a process that happens only with consent and through love. But how will he ever find a man prepared to put up with a Dominant warlock for a boyfriend?

Dominic Castine has no idea that Evrain’s grandmother sees him as a prospective partner for Evrain. He tends her garden and she teaches him about herbs—a trade-off they both enjoy. He is drawn to Evrain’s charismatic presence but doesn’t understand why he wants to drop to his knees and submit to him.

When Agatha is murdered, Evrain and Dominic are thrown together as she manipulates them from beyond the grave. Dominic becomes the pawn in a terrifying game between warlocks whose powers he barely comprehends.

In the end, lives will depend on his courage, his willingness to grant Evrain control and the power of love.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of kidnap and a reference to attempted sexual assault.

Dominic is a quiet, green thumb who has come to really enjoy his time in the gardens.  He works hard, loves what he does and loves the people even more.  However, his once quiet life is disrupted by Evrain.  Despite his intentions of staying away from Evrain, Dominic is pulled in to a world that is both intriguing and terrifying in equal measure.

Evrain is just learning that he is more than what he thought.  However, despite knowing this, he still has every day struggles of finding someone whom he can trust, love and use.  He is a dominant personality who has the power to explore his lover through the elements.  The scenes are exciting and different, but not so over the top as to be strange.

I love the connection that Evrain and Dominic form.  They trust, love and heat up the sheets.

Then you have Evrain’s extended family.  Gabriel and Agatha are amazing.  I love how they both guide, without giving things away.

The mystery behind this story is both frustrating and interesting.  It definitely makes me want to read more because there is no real conclusion.

I am excited to see what else this series will bring.

This is the first book in a new series by LM Somerton. We have Evrain, who just turned 21 and moved to the US from Scotland. (I think it’s Scotland…) He finds out that he’s a warlock and his grandmother had his powers bound since birth to protect him. Warlocks need someone to help channel their powers and that someone for Evrain is Dominic. Dominic is sweet, kind, and shy. Evrain is the dominant in the relationship.
The story had a whole Harry Potter feel to it, which I didn’t mind. I like a good magic story. Somerton did a good job with world building. I laughed when it was mentioned that all wizards are gay. That was an interesting twist. I wanted to like Evrain, but he took too much liberties to me. Before even getting to know Dominic, he’s all over him without giving the dude time to breath. The first sexual scene was interesting…in involves plants. lol. I would have been freaking out, but Dominic took it better than I thought anyone else would.
As I was reading, I kept thinking that the characters should have a name switch. Dominic’s name should have been Evrain and Evrain should have been named Dominic. Not sure why that kept bothering me. Hah.
Anyway, I recommend this to anyone who loves to read magic with their MM stories.

Twenty-one years ago…

“Closed doors, I hate closed doors. Why don’t I have the power to see through them? That, at least, would be a useful ability.” Three-hundred-year-old floorboards creaked as Gregory Thanet paced the galleried landing of Wenlock House. He walked up and down past three doors, each fashioned from heavy oak and furnished with black iron hinges and handles. Two stood ajar, revealing hints of unoccupied bedrooms, but the third was firmly closed, a solid barrier to unwanted intrusion and the cause of Gregory’s current frustration.

“For goodness’ sake, Gregory, you’re wearing out the carpet. Be still.” Gregory’s companion leaned against the gallery rail and gave him an exasperated look.

Gregory paused his march briefly, shot a glare at the woman but then resumed his pacing with a grunt.

“Leave me be, woman, I’ll be still when we know that everything is as it should be.”

“Nature moves at her own pace, you know that. There’s no changing it—nor should we. What will be will “Stop trying to sound like some wise and ancient soothsayer, Agatha. You’re not helping and it doesn’t suit you. The kid is a week late already—you’d think he would be keen to greet the world by now. When he’s grown I’ll remember that he kept me up half the night. I’m sure I’ll get plenty of opportunities for revenge when he’s older.”

Gregory stopped and folded his arms across his chest.

“I might not be able to see the future, Gregory Thanet, but even a complete idiot could have predicted that my grandson would arrive today.”

Gregory examined his companion. Agatha looked tired. Her skin was quite smooth, marred only by a few laughter lines around her hazel eyes, eyes that still sparkled with warmth and intelligence. Her silver hair was swept smoothly back and fastened with a comb, intricately fashioned from beaten copper. She remained an attractive woman, who must have possessed great beauty in her youth, but she looked paler than usual and she rested her weight against the banister rather than standing in her usual ramrod-straight stance.

Gregory experienced a rare pang of guilt that he might be adding to his friend’s worries. “All Hallows’ Eve.

There’s a lot of power in the air right now.”

Agatha cocked her head to one side and closed her eyes as if listening to sounds that only she could hear. “My grandson will be with us soon and there is little that you or I can do to change the course of his destiny.” For a moment, a worried frown creased her forehead. “It is not certain that he will inherit the gift.”

Gregory sighed. “In this, you deceive yourself, Agatha. The calling has skipped a generation. History dictates that the next born will be unusually powerful and that power will be magnified even further in a male child.”

“There has been no warlock in my family line for over five hundred years, only witches. Why are you so convinced that it will change now? We know of only three others living, Gregory. You, Symeon Malus and Constantine De Vries. It would be a chance in a billion.”

Gregory scratched the tip of his long nose. “I should have bought a lottery ticket then. All the portents point to it, the date alone… It is time. Time the triangle became a square.”

“I’m not sure Symeon Malus will ever be part of that square,” Agatha said. “I don’t see him as the cornerstone of anything with value or integrity.”

“True, and if the child is born with the power, you and I will need to ensure that Symeon’s gaze remains elsewhere.” Gregory shivered. “I swear to the goddess, this country is the dampest place on earth. It’s all right for you, Agatha, you live in the second dampest place on the planet. You’re used to groping through fog. I want to get back to Florida. I need to—before I develop trench foot.”

“Pah. What you really want is to get back to Coryn. You’re a ship without an anchor when the two of you are apart. He could have come to see the child too, you know.” Agatha grabbed a stray hair and pushed it back into a restraining grip.

“Coryn hates airplanes, you know that. I would never ask him to fly across the pond unless it was a life or death situation.”

“If it were, you wouldn’t have to ask him.”

“He reckons that if men were designed to fly through the air, then human cannonball would be a much more popular career choice.”

Agatha snorted. “I think his phobia is a myth. He just uses it as an excuse to get a few days’ break from your—” She whistled and twiddled her fingers in the air.

Gregory rolled his eyes. “Twiddling your fingers that way will get you turned into an aardvark. It takes practice to bend your digits into shapes imbued with power. After thirty-two years together, Coryn is more than capable of dealing with my—” He whistled. “As you so delicately put it.”

Agatha snorted. “Men with magic! Whoever the hell thought that would be a good idea was seriously damaged.” She shook her head slowly.

Gregory grinned and waggled a silver eyebrow.

The mewling cry of a newborn sounded from behind the closed bedroom door, and Agatha allowed her lips to curve into a smile.

“Well, it seems the waiting is over. I have a grandchild—and, from the sound of that bellowing, he’s a fine, healthy boy.”

“About damned time.” Gregory grouched. He still smiled right along with Agatha.

Agatha crossed the landing and knocked softly on the door, which soon swung open to admit her. Gregory followed her inside, pushing down his excitement.

The bedroom was bathed in the cool light of a new dawn. The soft green of the walls seemed to shimmer and the wooden floor was burnished with gold. Gregory looked around in wonder, then dragged his gaze back to the bed.

“Lyssa, James—congratulations, my dears!” Agatha clapped her hands together in delight as she walked over to the bed.

Gregory hung back a little, giving her the privilege of first viewing.

Agatha’s daughter, Lyssa, sat up in bed propped against a mound of pillows. She was pale, her eyes shadowed in the purple of exhaustion, but still she glowed with radiant happiness. A small bundle wrapped in a pale blue blanket rested in her arms. Her husband, James, sat nervously on the edge of the mattress, looking utterly shell-shocked but delighted as the midwife fussed around them.

Lyssa held the baby out to her mother with a smile. “His name is Evrain. Evrain James Brookes. Hold him, Mum, isn’t he beautiful?”

Gregory held his breath as Agatha reached for the small bundle and cradled the child in her arms. She pushed the blanket back from the baby’s head, and a mop of thick black hair was revealed, sticking out in all directions.

“He is absolutely gorgeous, darling. Didn’t you both do well!” Agatha stroked the child’s hair.

Gregory moved in closer. Tiny fists punched at the air, so Gregory offered the boy his own hand.

Immediately, the baby grabbed hold, wrapping his fingers around Gregory’s offering with surprising strength.

Gregory grinned at Agatha in delight, then looked back to the baby. His eyes were the dark blue of every newborn but, as Gregory focused his senses on the child, he could see that they would become dark green. Just a shade deeper than his own.

Cooing softly, Agatha muttered a lilting incantation and rocked the baby gently. To Lyssa and James, the song probably sounded like a lullaby, but Gregory knew a spell when he heard one. Tiny eyelids closed and the baby slept. Gregory’s finger was released. After a few more minutes of cuddling, Agatha reluctantly returned the baby to his parents.

This is a brilliant read!  I started it unsure what I was going to think.  Penny is kidnapped by the beautiful Carter and whisked away to a mansion on some unknown island.  She is very attracted to her but is obviously angry and suspicious.  She quickly grows to trust and love Carter but is still a prisoner.  Carter is a high powered business woman and Penny a waitress/student with seemingly nothing in common but they fall in love and forge a bond.  There is so much more to the story though and the twists and turns had me in a spin.  I did not put this book down until it was finished as I was so hooked on the story and never could have guessed what it was really all about.  It is certainly not at all what you think when you start reading it.
The steamy scenes were really well written and extremely hot. Their relationship is wonderful and I wanted it all to work out but I was never sure what was going to happen next.  I love this book and thoroughly recommend it .  I’ll have to go and read some more of Reven J Spencer’s books now as I am so impressed with her writing .

I  found this book to be one of those that you can just sit down and thoroughly enjoy. For a few hours pure fictional romance, nothing to heavy, just enough spice to keep the reader entertained and a light but interesting story line. Weaving this illusion is a credit to the author.
The plot is absorbing and one that kept me guessing right to the final revelation. Another plus to this novel is the way the author tells a complete tale. Nothing is omitted, we get an intimate and detailed account of both leading characters lives, dreams and hopes. Coupled with an ending that achieves an insight to their lives after the revelation and then takes us into what their future may hold.
A really satisfying novel, one that achieves what it sets out to do, charm and captivate the reader and distract from the mundane.
Can I just say that some of this was a little weird? I’m not sure whether to think that this was a type of parody or satire of billionaire romances. If it is, then I like it a lot more. The big thing for me is the whole abduction part of the story. The general idea is that someone with that much money can do whatever they want with no consequences. The whole idea of Stockholm Syndrome and how luxury and exotic conditions can cause it to kick in sooner. When you have no real option of resistance or escape, how long could you keep up a struggle against a captor that you were initially attracted to? But a more basic question for me is how could a love that started with such a power imbalance ever be equal? I’m not sure that question is resolved at the end to my satisfaction. It was definitely an interesting read, but there are issues here that aren’t fully explored or resolved.
